Restaurant is located in a large mall. Where to park was a problem for closest route for someone with limited/impaired walking ability. Exhausted by the time I arrived. Poor seating accommodations while waiting to be seated at our table. Food and service excellent!
Best restaurant inside Neiman Marcus in the Country with ocean views, great food, service and Ambience. Prices are reasonable.
Being on the balcony, the street noise can often be a lot! But it’s also very beautiful!
The service was excellent service and the food was amazing. Mariposa is well worth the price and great for special occasions.
We are long standing patrons of Mariposa, usually for lunch, but periodically for dinner. The food is always good. There is one disappointment which is that the dinner menu has really been scaled back in terms of the number of choices available to choose from. Previously there were many more choices.
The service was excellent. We arrived 45 minutes early for our reservation but the hostess accommodated us and gave us excellent seats on the veranda. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. We had the tasting menu. The manager noted that my wife was not interested in her appetizer and graciously brought her a cup of their corn chowder as a replacement. We enjoyed the Caesar salad, kabocha pasta, ribeye steak, and the creme brûlée. The Friday night fireworks was icing on the cake. Overall, the evening at the Mariposa was a wonderful early Valentine’s celebration.
It always provides a great time. The taste and atmosphere of the dish is also wonderful. Today, I mainly cooked pork dishes, but the seasoning and the amount were satisfactory.
Celebrating a birthday- great service and excellent dinner.
Nice service from Janine. Special of day ravioli with shrimp not very tasty. Hamburger excellent. Appreciated the birthday wishes ice cream but seemed a little cheap. Most places give you one of their specialty desserts
Comfortable understated elegant surroundings. Easy parking. Quick service. Excellent service by experienced staff. Good menu selection with healthy choices. Great place for casual meals with friends or for business meals with clients.
Always a nice experience when dining. Only one small issue was the pop over was not hot and fresh, however, it was quickly corrected when we brought it to their attention.
Excellent service Justin and Ryan. Always happy to eat here, one of my favorite restaurants❤️
We had lunch a couple of times at Mariposa prior to today. So we decided to make reservations and grab some lunch again today. We ordered the Mediterranean Salad with grilled salmon. The lettuce and the rest of the ingredients were fresh but, the salmon was undercooked. I like raw salmon, but only as sashimi with wasabi but not on my salad. Because it took so long just to get our salads to begin with, I didn't even bother to send it back. I won't be going back for salad at Mariposa anytime soon.
Food was pretty bad. The abalone turned out to be a okonimaki style presentation served in an escargot dish. Totally gross batter and taste.
The octopus was so-so, like a tako poke with smoky flavor.
The king crab and artichoke dip was totally lame. No consistency to the dish, and served with deep fried chips.
Am really shocked at how much the food quality has dropped. Especially for the prices they charge.
Lunch at Mariposa is excellent.
Dinner is another story!
Our food came to the table 7 minutes apart from each other. We ordered the tomahawk steak for $130.00 and it was cold.
The server forgot to bring the soup we ordered.
Overall a 6.5 out of 10.
Location & view is awesome!
Will stick to having lunch at Mariposa!
Awesome service and food!
The place has a great view and service. Food had good flavors and nice presentation. Drinks were very tasty. Everyone loved the warm bread rolls with the guava butter.
Perfect place for a date night or going out with friends! Quiet, open air, very relaxing and most important for foodies - delicious foods! We've never been disappointed and theirs always new dishes to try :)
Always a pleasure to dine there whether it be lunch or dinner. Service by server, Yoon was excellent. She very much makes the meal that much more enjoyable. Food was tasty and hit the spot
My wife and I choose Mariposa to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We indicated this when we made the reservation. However, we were disappointed that the occasion was not mentioned by staff - we thought they would, but may be it's their practice not to acknowledge special occasions. In any event, Mariposa is no longer on our list of places for celebration of our special occasions.
You can’t beat the ambiance, the food, and service.
Excellent food service though slow but was good. This was our second experience and it was as good as the first. Will definitely return in the future and would recommend to the friends.
Food quality was sub par. The Salads were soggy with lettuce that was starting to brown. The saving grace of the meal was the popovers and dessert.
Outstanding, this remains my favorite luncheon restaurant since it opened
Mariposa is really one of the best restaurants in Honolulu. The food is tasty and healthy. Service is amazing too as well as the view of the water. Highly recommended.
It was very delicious dishes, makes me happy. Wonderful sunset is beautiful, too.
Thanks so much！
I wanna go to Mariposa again.
Love this place! Stellar service, great view. Alaskan King Crab Salad and the Lobster Club are phenomenal.
Disappointed with creme brûlée. Why the pears and in every bite. Creme brûlée is creme brûlée, nothing additional. It was not good🙈
Just perfect for a special lunch with my mom! The service and food were excellent. the food choices for lunch worked for me, but my mom was hoping for a few more choices. Overall, it was a great experience.
There are very few places to have a classy business lunch with easy parking in Honolulu and Mariposa fits the bill perfectly.
We were seated on the lanai per our request. Traffic noise was sometimes a bit loud but it was otherwise pleasant. The service was not the same as I remember from last year. Service was rather slow even though they weren’t that busy. It looks like they cut back on staff. Instead of standing on my left side to place bread and butter on my bread plate, the assistant server stood on my right and stretched his arm across my food and in front of my face to reach the bread plate. I didn’t appreciate smelling his sweat! When the waiter brought back our packaged leftovers, he placed the bags on the floor next to my seat. He should have handed the bags to us instead. I don’t want my bag of food on the floor! Finally, the complimentary dessert for our special occasion was a joke. It consisted of 3 tiny one ounce scoops of vanilla ice cream on a plate that was filled in mostly with whipped cream and a sparse amount if dried blueberries. We were there for 90 minutes for a dinner that should have taken an hour at the most. We’ll go elsewhere next time.
The food was fantastic
Service was impeccable
