The cuisine is Latin Inspired, primarily from Chef Dahl’s interactions with chef’s in Argentina, Chile and Uruguay. Chef Lisa Dahl and her team focus on premium ingredients and many of the herbs are grown in the herb gardens in the restaurant courtyard. All meats and seafoods come from the very best sources – such as Newport and Beelers for the meats. For years Lisa has insisted on all organic vegetables from Arizona.

Perfect spot for vacationing with friends
Dinner was awesome and they acknowledged our birthday celebration with a small dessert. The food was spectacular! Would recommend to friends.
First time in Sedona and at Mariposa. Really cool setting and rooms. Ordered the grilled Octopus tapa and was really good. We also went with the fixed menu featuring a 32 oz. tomahawk steak. Cocktail shrimp, chopped salad very good, only meh was steak - little tough and veiny. Maybe just off cut but little disappointed - overall great service, nice room worth a return visit for sure.
Wonderful meal for a special occasion!
Absolute stunning views from the outdoor dining room!
One of the most beautiful restaurants we have ever been to. Menu is eclectic and delicious. Service is gracious and attentive. An absolute must go!!!
Absolutely phenomenal views and amazing food! Will definitely be back!
Amazing views... get there for sunset and you will not be disappointed. The good was delicious in such a beautiful setting. It’s a very special place.
Incredible night at Mariposa! Great ambience, wait staff. Food a bit uneven but delicious for the most part. Salads way too dressed and my trout entree came out warm...but overall would go back again!
Outstanding food and atmosphere! We did the tomahawk dinner for two with wine pairing. Only issue: the red wine was served before we had time to complete the previous wine and subsequently, we had to wait another 30 mins for the tomahawk to be served. Overall, an excellent experience!
Mariposa offers an eclectic southwestern menu at lunch. Personally, I would go there for lunch only in order to get this menu and enjoy the view. At night it’s pretty much a steak restaurant with the southwestern influence not as predominant and, of course, no view at night.
Amazing views! Amazing food! Amazing service! Excellent all around. Worth the quick drive from Scottsdale to Sedona just for dinner. :-)
First night in Sedona. Was able to seat us outside. Was chilly, but they have heaters on the patio and were able to close the side skirts after the sun went down so as not to block the spectacular views. Nothing was left to chance in the decor, from the entry door, to the furniture, to grassy area with a walkway. I can’t say enough about this restaurant, Lisa Dahl is truly passionate about her diners experience and it shows. If you are in Sedona and don’t dine here, you are missing the best restaurant in the area and probably one of the top 10 places in the country. Service was fabulous, server introduced herself, explained the menu in detail, along with answering our questions. Food was unbelievably delicious. We started with the elote, it was amazing, lots of flavor and juices, one of the best appetizers I’ve ever had. I had a strip steak and lemon zest mashed potatoes, my wife had the Filet with Mac n Cheese. The strip was perfectly cooked to my order, moist, and flavorful. The lemon zest seemed odd for mashed potatoes, but tasted very good, especially with some slivered almonds to give it a little crunch. The filet was juicy, flavorful and cooked to perfection. The Mac n Cheese was delicious. We had the flourless cake dessert which was a delightful finish to our meals. The drink selection seemed endless.
We dined on my very special birthday. The appetizer arrived with the first course; forgot an appetizer, spilled a whole glass of water on arrival; didn’t allow us to dine on the patio for my special day, but the ambiance inside is fabulous.
It’s a good thing we were with great friends who made it wonderful anyway.
We celebrated our Anniversary week dining at this beautiful restaurant on our last night in stunning Sedona.
Walking in and seeing the views surrounding us at our seats blew us away.
Only wish was that our server may have been a little more personable. As were heard other servers were asking where their guests were from for example. It warms the connection I feel.
We will highly recommend Mariposa and look forward to our return.
Thank you for the delicious and delightful experience.
Amazing restaurant. Beautiful grounds, food was excellent and service was perfect.
Went there for lunch. Fabulous food, perfect weather, great service and a gorgeous view! Highly recommend! Portobello burger was excellent, as were the Yuca fries and truffle Mac n cheese!
Amazing location and views. The food and service are pretty average for a moderately priced steakhouse, but the ambiance and views make it worthwhile.
This place was so amazing . The food and service were great . We would definitely recommend Maraposa in Sedona !
Outstanding menu, well-prepared food, attentive service and awesome view -- especially at sundown. What's not to like? Better get a reservation, though; always crowded.
As always - great time
The atomospere and music was perfect. The challenges were quite a few. The fork I received was encrusted with dried harden what appeared to be salad. It was so noticeable don't know how it was missed. No problem I thought they will bring another, they did not. After receiving my food I asked again and by the time I received my food was cold. The waiter was new. Based on his lack of attention he seemed untrained and when asked something he would walk away. Very bad service accept for Anna the bus girl. Too bad she wasn't part of the wait staff. It was my first experience here and I treated a good friend to a birthday lunch. It was not the experience we were hoping to have. Many more challenges occurred here; though let me suffice to say the food fair. The nice things? Desserts, Guitarist and view. Service terrible. Food not the quality or taste expected. The pulled pork was dry without seasoning. I felt so bad for her Birthday celebration. I will no longer consider this restaurant for any upcoming event(s).
The wine was very good. The views were outstanding. The food was very good. Prices are expensive.
The view was outstanding in Mariposa and was the best view I have seen in any restaurant I’ve dined. Food was flavorful a bit on the high price. Our waitress was amazing. We recommend it.
An outstanding experience! Elegant atmosphere, amazing food - flavors, texture, presentation, very good service. This restaurant is like the best in NYC. The cuisine is creative yet true to the ingredients, with well balanced flavors. I’d go back to Sedona just for the opportunity to try more of the menu!
Always a delightful experience -- the food, the service, the ambiance!
We had a great dining experience at experience at Mariposa. Vegetarian options were impressive. The decor is incredible. Our future trips to Sedona will include at least one meal at Mariposa.
We love Mariposa, but tonight was not a good experience. The halibut was overcooked, the lobster mashed potatoes literally tasted like instant potatoes with lobster thrown in and they were out of bread by 5:30.
Beautiful views and decor! Loved this restaurant the food was outstanding!
Gorgeous views, diverse and unique drink and food menu items, quality preparation, professional and friendly staff. Lovely and unobtrusive live jazz guitar music. Absolutely stunning lunch!
What a stunning view! And the food, we are happy to say, was great as well. Fish tacos for one of us and Cuban sandwich for the other. Delicious. What a great combo of ambience and food.
Mariposa is amazing. The ambiance both inside and out is truly a restaurant work of art...but the meal was what made the experience even more spectacular.
This is an award winning restaurant that should not be missed on your next Sedona visit. Beautiful restaurant, professional staff, amazing food.
Thank you to all at Mariposa (even the Valet team) in making the experience simply wonderful .
Best place to eat in Sedona by a mile. A must for anyone passing through
Wonderful restaurant. My rib eye and my husband’s halibut were outstanding! What a happening place! We asked to be seated in the more “formal’ dining room - much quieter, tablecloths and attentive service. Beautiful! They were extremely busy and because of that there were two small errors. One, we asked to share a salad and to have two plates. They brought out one salad, one plate. So we waited about five or 10 minutes for them to bring back the salad on two plates.Second, we asked them to not deliver our entrees until after his second martini was delivered and he had had a chance to enjoy it first, otherwise he would just skip the second martini. She assured us she would make sure The that happen. It didn’t. The entrees came out before his martini. They kept his halibut hot but I started my steak because it was so big.The biggest disappointment, for me, that she didn’t knowledge either mistake with any kind of remorse. Regardless, it was an awesome evening and we’d gladly dine there again.
The filet mignon was good, but mine came out rare when I ordered medium, which I ate once I received it as it took approximately 75 minutes from the time we ordered until the time we got our food. Our server told us the kitchen was slammed but didn’t offer any apology or anything else. The au gratin potatoes were severely undercooked. The charred cauliflower was flavorless.
Best sunset red rock view! Service very good. Wine list is great for glasses of wine.
Wonderful food and atmosphere! Loved the veggie stuff chili rellano. We did the tasting menu and it was fabulous with the wine pairings
Absolutely incredible, one of the best meals we’ve had, period. The meat was cooked to perfection, the bar staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. I love a place that doesn’t skimp on staffing. The kitchen was fun to watch from the bar.. a well oiled machine. Lisa came and talked with us after. The whole experience was a true work of art. Atmosphere was high end but not prentiously so.
Great food & service. The televisions did not seem to fit the desired vibe, but a lovely experience overall.
We had a great time. The ambiance, the food and the service was excellent. In the end when they found out that we were celebrating a friend’s birthday they brought us a cake to take home with us! These folks are incredible. Made us feel so great!
