Patio seating at Mariposa is amazing, sometimes mother nature limits our ability to meet guests' requests for the patio experience. Should this happen to an existing reservation, we may move you inside. It is highly recommended that you bring a jacket during colder months.

    Sally our server was excellent, prompt and personable. The food was delicious, I had the Mahi Mahi tacos. Our outside covered patio seating area needed to be wiped down as my seat had a huge accumulation of salt on it so I hand wiped it off. The table had flies.

    The food is a mixed experience. A tenderloin was very good, though served medium when rare was ordered. Scallops prepared just right. The gaspacho was good and strong. Ceviche which traditionally should be raw fish or shellfish cured with citrus juice, (maybe some vinegar) and herbs was served with cooked shrimp and became a very pedestrian dish. The same ingredients were used in a "Neptune" salad. Using the same ingedients rationlizes the kitchen work but in a good restaurant you expect every dish to be unique. The red wine was served at about 75 degrees when 65 should be maximum. Mariposa is very busy and lives off the beautiful view which is a common one in this part of AZ. The price is too high and you pay for the view, not the food. Parking very problematic and at peak sunset time there was a significant overflow.

    We had been looking to go there for a few years (waiting for a return to Sedona). Found the overall atmosphere to be great, but the service and food were only soso for the price. Over $300 for two people (and we only had 3 drinks total). Parking is very crowded and a pain in the butt

    This was our second time eating there. The service was absolutely phenomenal. And the food was even better. Our wait staff was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. My wife got the Cubano skirt steak with chimchurry sauce and I got the trout. Both amazing!! I also got the lemon lobster mashed potatoes which were unreal delicious, I highly advise it. The flourless chocolate tort was so good too. We made reservation specifically for Sunset and the views of the rocks on the buttes were absolutely amazing . Very relaxed atmosphere and we very much enjoyed our time that we can't wait to go back

    Not only is this a spectacular setting, it is also an amazing restaurant. The menu is creative, beautifully presented, and delicious. We were there for lunch and wished we could have gone back for a sunset dinner. Don't miss this one and be sure to reserve as far in advance as possible.

    Our waiter Chris was excellent, he was attentive and friendly and tried to change our negative experience. The general manager was also kind and tried his best to exceed our expectations but unfortunately it was to late, the damage was already done by the hostes enforcing a stick policy because I was wearing a Golf Hat. I'm a rule follower and was wearing slacks and dress shoes with a polo shirt. I was not going to remove my hat because of a recent scalp procedure that I did a day before, that was doctors orders. I should of left to go to another place but It would of been hard to find another dinner place to celebrate my 23 year wedding anniversary. I will not be going back to this place unfortunately. Some advice to the owner be specific in your dress code but also keep in mind that people are vacationing and don't single out people there were 2 other guest there wearing basketball shorts and a cowboy hat.

    Ambience and service excellent… some super great hits and few misses. This is the “go to” place in Sedona so view, ambience out of this world. Drinks. …. Meh. Had 2 cocktails between us one was good (not fantastic) one too bitter. Empanadas fantastic. The steak my dining partner had…. Amazing. I had grilled octopus and was only a C. Was hoping fresh and good however tasted old and mushy. Prices…. It’s Sedona-so high plus a “tax” 3% for dining experience. Not a huge fan of made up fees when prices pretty high to begin with. This just seems tacky for me. The reviews raved about this restaurant… was very good but would not rave.

    This was the best meal of my entire vacation, and the atmosphere was so pleasant! My friends and I ate lunch on the covered patio with the beautiful view and instrumental music in the background. It is truly a beautiful well cared for location to dine. The empanadas were absolutely AMAZING! The homemade pastries were so flaky and bursting with flavor, and our meal did not disappoint. I had the Pollo Justino, and my friends had the Gringo Burger and Neptunia Cobb Salad. We all enjoyed our dishes. To top it off, we shared a piece of the Prickly Pear Cheesecake. (Who vacations in Arizona and doesn't want to try something with prickly pear? I mean, we had to see what all of the hype was about). All I can say is Wow! And Wow! This Cheesecake was plated beautifully and made with such attention to detail from the homemade crust to the fluffy, tasty cheesecake. Although we were full, we all wished we weren't because we wanted more of that cheesecake! My mouth practically waters just thinking about it! This is an upscale restaurant with high expectations for dress code and prices that are a little up there, but it's not pretentious in it's atmosphere. It's so pleasant, welcoming, and relaxing, and the food is unique without being so far out there that you are afraid to try it. You get what you pay for. I would definitely go again and recommend that you go as well!

    Went for our anniversary Food Luke warm. We advised staff and they were very accommodating and made an effort to make right. Food was sent back and new plates served however it too was luke warm. We chose to just eat and not complain a second time. Free dessert also provided. Staff, service and ambiance was fabulous. Would definitely try again.

    The food was wonderful. The octopus (pulpo) was tender with some great char. Everything else was cooked perfectly, from steak, to elote, and the churros were a great finish. The service was good - servers were attentive. The outdoor area was a little loud, but expected. Great visit.

    The view was stunning. The food arrived cold. We notified the manager and she brought us new meals. It was a scene. Not worth going back. Very stuffy and not welcoming.

    Beautiful view.. Food was good. Overpriced. Service was good.. Too many flaws.. Had to ask for silverware.. Too dark inside.. Steak was not cooked properly and BUSINESS OPERATION FEE was added to the bill. WTH.. That's low class for such a supposed classy place. Just add it to your food price. Sorry for the negativity but don't nickel and dime your clientele.

As our business costs continue to climb significantly, instead of increasing our menu prices, the business fee offsets a minor portion of our increases.     An amazing view, especially at sunset. The ambiance, food and service were excellent. Make sure you reserve in advance. A patio table gives you the best views

    We had an amazing meal! Probably one of the best we’ve had at a restaurant. Our server, Jesus was so great, friendly and enthusiastic about the food and drinks. The food was so delicious, start to finish. We made a reservation before sunset, so we could enjoy that view. The setting is gorgeous.
