The cuisine is Latin Inspired, primarily from Chef Dahl’s interactions with chef’s in Argentina, Chile and Uruguay. Chef Lisa Dahl and her team focus on premium ingredients and many of the herbs are grown in the herb gardens in the restaurant courtyard. All meats and seafoods come from the very best sources – such as Newport and Beelers for the meats. For years Lisa has insisted on all organic vegetables from Arizona.

Our server, John was outstanding. He was personable and knowledgeable about the food and drink. Consummate professional! We really enjoyed our night.
Walker has a waiter was outstanding!
Substitutions suggested & made the meal for my husband! The view is remarkable!
Restaurant markets itself as high end Latin cuisine but it’s really a steak place like Ruth’s Chris. The service was excellent and the wine was first rate. The meat was fine. I think it’s pricey for what you get and wish we had tried it for lunch instead of dinner to take advantage of the views from the dining room.
Lovely waiter Joshua. Cool vibe, beautiful presentation of food.
A beautiful view of the red rock in Sedona as the sun goes down with wonderful food and drinks.

This is a must do restaurant in Sedona. We love lunch or early dinner as the view is spectacular! Food is fresh and good and latin inspired.
Great restaurant ambiance with amazing food
The food and the view is amazing
Wonderful experience! Began with a nice selection of wine and cocktails. The food was amazing! From appetizers to dessert nothing disappointed. We highly recommend the lemon zest mashed potatoes with lobster. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable.
Was there two years ago for lunch and enjoyed. Now, celebrating a friend’s 60th bday did not have sane great experience. Food was fine but service was rushed and perfunctory. Very little time to enjoy the wine before the food came. We had a reservation and a lovely table but experiences was dampened by service.
Food was actually disappointing we have been there before but this time it wasn’t great my wife actually had to send back her meal but the ambiance and the view and the service was excellent
A remarkable restaurant in any location, but add the views and you have something magical!
If you can afford to eat hear all the time, you should...and congratulations on your extremely successful career!
My wife’s favorite in Arizona, so we go every year for her birthday.
The octopus, steak and seafood were delicious- we were not big fans of the empanadas though. Service was great!
Mariposa has been our go-to choice for a special dining experience. We had out-of-town guests and once again Mariposa came through. Our table was, in our opinion, the best table in the dining room. It had a beautiful view of the Red Rocks and our guests loved it. The service and food was excellent!. The only criticism I can offer is our entree, scallops, could have been a little bit warmer. I would highly recommend Mariposa.
Overall a very good experience the will definitely be back next time we are in Sedona
One of the most beautiful restaurants I’ve been to in a while. The server did a great job explaining some favorites, and both the chicken special and my husband’s ribeye were delicious. Our specialty cocktails were unique and yummy, and the chocolate flourless cake was perfection. A special night!
We had a great evening. We enjoyed it so much that we came back the day after for dinner, our last evening of our trip.
I had made a reservation with open table for Sunday 1/5 at 7:45. We ended up coming around 7 instead. But you have not recorded our checking in with open table. They sent me a message of no show. Could you PLEASE CORRECT IT. Otherwise my record with them will suffer. Thank you
Service was poor - the waiter did a disappearing act after service - other staff were attentive to their tables. Food was disappointing - chicken dry, no sauce or seasoning, no offer of vegetables from waiter. Fish was over cooked, dry and flavourless - ambience extremely nice but food was sadly lacking
Most spectacular scenery of any restaurant I have ever seen.
Elote was amazing! Filets were cooked to perfection. Description of food items were a little vague. Salads were never delivered. Great wine selection and beautiful ambiance.
Erin was our server and she was tremendous. Food was fantastic. It was a great experience.
The restaurant was fantastic. Enjoyed every moment of our lunch especially the live music. Will come back again
watching the sunset form the patio
Outside is a must. The view of the mountains is stunning.
Best restaurant in Sedona! Loved being able to bring my Golden Retriever to join me on their dog friendly patio for lunch. The views are to live for!
The food was excellent
We waited 30 minutes for our appetizers
No bid deal because they were great
But then 30 minutes for our steaks and they were .. COLD
yep- cold steak
We knew there was a kitchen issue but apology was not enough and no discount on food.
Food was great, ambience lovely. Will come again when we can sit outside on the patio and take in the views. Unfortunately, dining service did not meet our expectations- our dining server was neglecting to check in with us and to bring us food, etc. in a timely manner. Hoping this was just a one time issue; hoping our next visit with result in better service.
This is my 2nd time dining at Mariposa and honestly one of my favorite restaurants. My goodness the food is out of this world. Highly recommend the Filet. Also the atmosphere and service is remarkable
Heard so many rave about this place. Fish tacos were dry and overcooked, burger was also dry didn’t taste any truffles. Sangria and views amazing! Took about 30 min to get our lunch. Had reservations still waited 20 min. Great location but not sure It would be my first choice.
The food was amazing. The view was amazing.
Service was adequate. I don’t mind paying four dollars for a cup of coffee but if you wanted a refill it was another four dollars.
Outstanding views during daytime with great food and service! Definitely make reservations in advance as it gets very busy.
We had dinner there the other night, as well as lunch today. Sat inside with a view for dinner, and even better, on the patio for lunch with an awesome view of the red rocks. Gorgeous. Great service. Erin was a fantastic waitress, enthusiastic and very helpful. All in all, one of my favorite places to eat in Sedona. Despite the high prices for fine dining, I would go back for sure!
Victoria was great and very knowledgeable.
The decor of the Resturant is spectacular ! The art work and whole decor is breath taking. The staff were very friendly. Service was timely. We enjoyed our meal very much.
New Years Eve Dinner
Wonderful setting with distant FABULOUS views of the Red Rocks surrounding Sedona. If you are dining in the evening you must get there BEFORE sunset, walk the grounds, enjoy the setting. It is a remarkable setting and the rustic modern style lodge Restaurant building is an architectural delight. The lit gem stone wall hanging are unique and impressive. We gave it at least four stars plus even though the night we ate there was New Year's Eve and they were busy, busy, busy, to say the least. Loved the menu. The large shrimp on the shrimp cocktail were wonderful in their fabulous sauce. The Octopus appetizer was really the best I have ever had. Everything was delightful. A memorable setting and experience to say the least.
View is great! Food and service were fair. The server was slow to get our order and forgot our salads and one of several appetizers we ordered. The empanadas we ordered tasted like the hot pockets you can get in the frozen section in the grocery store. The reception hostess had an attitude that was NOT welcoming. Very abrupt and unhelpful. The one amazing thing about the place was the view of the mountains. I suggest you go during daylight to enjoy the view!
Great food, service and view. Very accommodating to my wife who has gluten and nut allergies. Only thing not great was that they had a guitar soloist playing during the lunch hour that was way too loud, making conversation difficult. And during the holidays, I was not really looking for high volume depressing songs on guitar solo like the back to back renditions of Eleanor Rigby and Dust in the Wind - seriously!
Best restaurant in Sedona.
