Mariposa – Latin Inspired Grill is designed for the ultimate customer experience. The views from the patios and dining rooms could be the finest world wide. If that wasn’t enough – customers will enjoy browsing the restaurant and the grounds enjoying large scale art or star gazing in the dark Sedona night.

The cuisine is Latin Inspired, primarily from Chef Dahl’s interactions with chef’s in Argentina, Chile and Uruguay. Chef Lisa Dahl and her team focus on premium ingredients and many of the herbs are grown in the herb gardens in the restaurant courtyard. All meats and seafoods come from the very best sources – such as Newport and Beelers for the meats. For years Lisa has insisted on all organic vegetables from Arizona.

We are thrilled to offer pick up and return service to our West Sedona restaurants from your accommodations. Our luxury sprinter can handle parties of up to 11.

The service was very slow- from seating had to ask for bread. Ran out of Brussels sprouts, special halibut was dry and not bland. Grilled shrimp good but certainly not jumbo. This is an ok restaurant but many others in Sedona to go to. Probably beat part was dessert- cheesecake excellent.

We went to Mariposa for Valentine’s Day. The food was delicious - Including the seafood lover’s trio and the mUssels. Everything was tasty, and the mussels were a pleasant surprise. The decor is breathtaking and the noise level perfect for a romantic dinner. A special thank you to Matteo, our waiter, who made great wine recommendations, was kind, fun and very amicable. He elevated our dinner experience!

We came here to celebrate Valentines Day, and it was also our first dining experience in Sedona. Mariposa was incredible, one of our favorite meals either of us can remember having. We both selected the prix fixe menu and everything we had was amazing. The service matched the food and we highly recommend Mariposa and would dine again!

Mariposa is a divine place to drink and eat under any kinds of weather! We had a great waitress, Walker
who was very patient and yet able to communicate with two deaf patrons for the whole evening severed with great foods and bottle of vino. He made our evening so peaceful and relaxing under a beautiful atmosphere inside and out of the building. We would love to come back in the near future.

Sedona's Mariposa Grill is situated in stunning setting. The building itself is beautiful and when one factors in the amazing red rock views, it makes for a wonderful dining experience. At least it should. This is not an inexpensive restaurant by any means. A glass of ZD chardonnay was a mind boggling $20. We shared a mushroom flatbread in the bar while we waited for our table. The carmelized onions were lovely paired with the mushrooms. The crust was a bit soggy, however. For dinner, we opted for the market price Alaskan halibut, paired with side dishes of Brussel sprouts and butternut squash and scallops and shrimp. The delicate halibut was overwhelmed by spicy black beans and overcooked quinoa. Again, very expensive for what we received. While Mariposa is Latin-inspired cuisine, spices seemed a little in judicial in what should have been a very nice dish. It also felt very rushed and for no apparent reason. By the time we were shown to our table, the restaurant wasn't that crowded. I've only ever had lunch here before and that has always been pleasant. But part of that has undoubtably had to do with red rock views, which we did not get to enjoy at night.

Beautiful restaurant. The service was very good but according to our taste a bit too fast and we felt a bit rushed. I was there with my wife. We ordered first an appetizer and we got it in a couple of minutes. After the appetizers, we ordered the main course and, again, within a few minutes we had the food in front of us. This is a the type of restaurant where we go to have a relaxing time while not being in a hurry (there was enjoyable live music) . Also, I ordered the Portobello steak which came with roasted cauliflower. Well the cauliflower was cold but our waiter brought some more that was warm. Altogether it was a pleasant evening but they should slow down a bit with the service. This is not a fast food place.

The most spectacular views from the patio. We were seated right by the fire pit on a cool night just before sunset and it was a gorgeous sight!
We had the tuna and beef empanadas. Both great. My husband got the special curry chicken and I got rack of lamb. Both cooked to perfection! Dessert was Boca de Muerto which was delicious. The only disappointing was the side of Brussels sprouts but overall fabulous dinner!

We had the most wonderful experience at Mariposa. The venue is gorgeous with a breathtaking view from where ever you are seated in the dining room. The food is delicious, the Wine Spectator awarded list has plenty of options. We fell in love with all the unique touches put by Lisa Dahl in the decoration, menus, ... inspired by the stunning mountains of Sonoma. We love it so much we came back for lunch the day after! She managed to create a soulful and cozy place day or night in a dramatic natural environment. Congratulations!
