The cuisine is Latin Inspired, primarily from Chef Dahl’s interactions with chef’s in Argentina, Chile and Uruguay. Chef Lisa Dahl and her team focus on premium ingredients and many of the herbs are grown in the herb gardens in the restaurant courtyard. All meats and seafoods come from the very best sources – such as Newport and Beelers for the meats. For years Lisa has insisted on all organic vegetables from Arizona.

Great service, food and ambience. The pork chops that we ordered were the best we ever tasted. I hope to return to Mariposa before too long.
Excellent experience. Food, service, and ambience was amazing.
Absolutely outstanding food and service, and you can't beat the beautiful view!!
Drinks and food were excellent, and ambiance was enjoyable.
Exceptional view & meal. Must go if you are visiting Sedona.
Outstanding view, outstanding food and outstanding service.
Great service and setting. Amazing elote loco app. My lobster tail came out undercooked. They fixed it quickly. Pricey for what you get, but worth the experience.
Wonderful menu, somewhat pricey. Delicious food well presented, very good sides all al a carte. Service suffered because of a demanding patron and an order mix up. They were able to accommodate special dietary request.
People at next table had undercooked seafood. Waitress was not pleasant to them at all. She mixed up checks between 2 tables, while she held our "chilled" martinis, that were supposed to be over ice, on her tray the entire time that she was sorting out the bill. She seemed very disinterested in serving us. Food was okay. Steak tough to cut...even tho it was ordered medium rare. Restaurant very beautiful. Food ok. Service poor.
One of the best Resturant experiences that I have ever had. If you are in the Sedona area you HAVE to go here!
Every aspect of our meal was cold. When the shrimp was sent back, they were still trying to charge us for it. Don’t waste your money here.
Everything about this restaurant is terrific. The decor is modern and classy, especially the bar. The view at sundown is stunning. Our meals were fabulous, beautifully presented, and unique, especially Lisa’s lobster mashed potatoes (with large chunks of lobster meat). It was particularly complimentary to chat with some longer term employees of the restaurant group and hear of the great respect and warmth that they feel toward the owner, Ms. Dahl.
Spectacular views spectacular food spectacular place. You cannot visit Sedona without dining here. Will be your best meal by far.
Food was very average. Ordered a bunch of tapas dishes and everything came with the same spicy mayo based sauce. Food came out cold and had to be sent back. For the price the food was very basic! Not worth it at nighttime as there is no view!
Had a great time. Hard to beat the atmosphere. Food was good, but didn't blow me away. Server was knowledgeable and attentive.
The view is beautiful! Just go early for the sunset! We were going at 7 pm and in September that’s too late. But then the stars come out!
We tried the gazpacho and empanadas to start. Both were great. Soup tasted of fresh ingredients. We sampled scallops and skirt steak and enjoyed then very much. We had made reservations several weeks earlier and got an out door seating that was lovely. Nice upscale restaurant with the local casual vibe.
Excellent. I am looking forward to our next time.
Great food, service & view. Just be prepared to pay for it.
Maybe the best Place in West Sedona. We are visitors but not new to Sedona at all. High end but not too high. Great Ambiance and not too noisy. Went there for my birthday which was a good excuse to indulge a bit in a great spot and good food. Yes, we liked it.
Its a beautiful place and the view was awesome. Food and service outstanding. When we plan to go to Sedona again we will definitely celebrate our Anniversary their!
Disappointed since over hyped. Service was very slow. All our meals came out cold although they did take a enter off the bill. Great view and atmosphere otherwise I couldn’t give it any stars. Stay away from the steaks you can grill at home better.
Service by our waitress was table. She would come to our table and act very passive, like she was annoyed to be serving us.
On Vacation in Sedona last week and we went here twice! Everything was amazing here! Our waitress Erin was super great! A must experience outside at sunset... but make reservations!
Seafood was less than optimally fresh, particularly the octopus (all diners noted a strong fishy aroma, something not ok for octopus).
The kitchen was out of 2 different items at 8:30 on a Friday night. Hostess reception was inattentive....asked for outside seating (there were 6+ tables open outdoors) and we were told none were available, asked a different hostess again 2 min later and was told one was free.
Overall, mediocre food for the price, and a poorly executed dining experience.
I was very impressed very nice atmosphere great food
My filet was perfectly good medium rare. The lobster mashed potatoes were scrumptious.
I arranged a birthday dinner for my wife, the Mariposa met all our wants and needs, and provided the best table in the house for us! Wonderful!
Enjoyed food and reasonable portions. People on travel channel were completely right about infused flavors in chicken and potatoes were amazing. Highly recommend
The view was beautiful! The service was good but the food was not up to par as usual. The seafood trio platter, the shrimp over cooked and scallops were cold. We have tried this restaurant before and everything was excellent but this night fell short:(
From the entrance to the appetizers & drinks in the bar area to the dinner in the outdoor dining area everything was OUTSTANDING! The only thing missing was Lisa herself.
We were there on Thursday September 6th we arrived earlier then our reservation time so we went and had appetizers & drinks at the bar.
Our bartender (sorry can’t remember his name) was very informative, attentive, and made great suggestions.
Our waiter on the patio was friendly and very helpful with the menu. He knew we were celebrating a milestone birthday & milestone anniversary. He made us feel special and he was generous enough to supply our table neighbors whom we ended up sharing food with & talking to all evening a dessert also
Great atmosphere, great food & great people working there!
Even though it was my husband’s birthday he bought me the cookbook. I guess he figured his gift to me would be the gift that keeps on giving as I will gladly make the recipes from the gorgeous cookbook and hopefully do them justice.
This place is MUST to dine when in Sedona or you’re missing out
We had a wonderful time at Mariposa celebrating our 42 wedding anniversary. We arrived early so we could see the sunset. The views were spectacular. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food was wonderful. Even though it is a bit pricey, it was worth it and we’ll definitely be coming back on our next trip to Sedona!
The prettiest restaurant I have ever been to. Especially outside at sunset. Food was amazing.
This was a superb stop on our visit to Sedona. We booked early so we could get a spot on the patio to see the sunset and werent disappointed. The meal, especially the vegetarian plate, Caesar salad and supersized shrimp cocktail was outstanding as was the selection of wine. We would have eaten differently, specifically a range of tapas, but we were informed by our server that wasn’t permitted on the patio, only inside. Selecting an entree was a must. Really?
We also learned, listening to the service at the next table, that there were specials other than the expensive steak and lobster we were told about. There might have been something there!
Service was prompt but had that ‘move along’ feeling to the point that we weren’t even offered coffee or an after dinner drink before the check arrived, un-requested. If this server is tops in flipping tables, his success rate is unblemished. We were not amused, however.
The views were superb and Chef Lisa Dahl definitely has a winner here. Service needs a tune up.
If you are in sedona this should be on top of list of places to eat! It is amazing! The staff is so friendly and helpful! The food is so delicious! You have to get the grilled octopus tapas, 8oz filet and the seafood trio! You won't be disappointed!
Hadn’t been to Sedona in about 20 years. Friends recommended Mariposa. It was the highlight of our trip! We ordered the meat platter and the corn empenatas as an appetizer. I had the Pollo with curry and roasted corn; hubby had scallops and we shared the Au gratin potatoes. Everything was delicious with wonderful use of spices and herbs. Even the chicken dish had a mild curry flavor (not too much). Hubs doesn’t even like curry and he thought it was delicious! The view was amazingly impressive! You will not be sorry you dined here! Just a lovely evening
Hosts were very accommodating. We changed our original reservation to outdoor seating and they were quick to get us seated despite being told it would be 45 minutes for outdoor since it’s first come first served. Extremely friendly.
The views are amazing. Little pricey but worth it. A most if you are in Sedona. Service was outstanding.
Found the restaurant wonderful and will definitely come back. Our server, Jesus was excellent!!!
Second time visiting in two years. Making this part of our Sedona must do list.
Beautiful, majestic restaurant. We had a Romantic table Overlooking the Mountains of Sedona. I have food allergies and they were very accommodating
We will definitely be back.
