Fabulous. Didn’t think I could be impressed. Can’t wait to go back.
Beautiful location absolutely stunning. Food was decent, had to send some of the sides back as they were very cold when the entree arrived. Arrival experience very poor. The hostess seating us did not smile a single time, she looked miserable. We saw her seating other guests and they to received the same treatment.
Mariposa was an absolutely amazing dining experience for us. The food was top notch and the service was excellent. I'm pretty sure I'll be back the next time I'm in Sedona.
Great food as always. The Amarone was an excellent wine selection. Pricey but well worth it.
Mariposa is a beautiful restaurant in a spectacular setting. It was pricey, but the quality of the food, presentation, and service was outstanding. We both ordered filets (one with the lobster). Both were a perfect medium rare. The caesar salad and octopus appetizer were also excellent. The desserts, cheesecake and the chocolate decadence, were the perfect end to a wonderful meal. Our server, Rain, was very knowledgeable and attentive. We look forward to returning to Mariposa on our next trip to Sedona.
Wonderful food and service. The views are gorgeous! The chocolate bomba dessert was to die for!
I don’t know what was better, the food or the view. Spectacular! Totally worth the drive from Scottsdale.
I have rarely, if ever, been to an establishment where ambience, location, aesthetic and food have combined into what can only be described as the PERFECT evening out. In fact we just cancelled our reservation for tomorrow at a different place and signed up for a chance to do further damage to the delicious menu at Mariposa!!
Everything was delicious. Our only complaint would be that we orders an appetizer which did not come until after our entree’s and we had asked 3 times about it. We felt that should have been comped.
Beautiful setting & view of the red rocks in Sedona. Meal was delicious from start to finish. I highly recommend the beef empanadas & shrimp cocktail for appetizers. The fish of the day was delicious & seasoned perfectly with a slight kick. Desserts were a hit- from fried churros to key lime pie. Pricey but very excellent quality of food, presentation & atmosphere.
Too pricey but wonderful views and excellent tapas. portions are a bit small even for tapas.
Sunset at Mariposa is heavenly! We were lucky enough to be there on a summer night at the start of monsoon season. The temps had lowered, clouds rolled in just enough to create a jaw dropping sunset. Service was impeccable and food perfect. The Dessers were divine so save room! It’s very expensive, but worth it.
One of the most beautiful places I have ever seen! Excellent food and excellent service too! A MUST STOP in Sedona!
Great view with amazing food and drinks
It was our Anniversary so I wanted something special. I saw the reviews on the Mariposa and they were mainly good, some bad..but I figured we would give it a try. All I can say is I'm glad we did! First off the views are amazing.. we got there early and not only were the host nice, but even other guest sat down outside with us and sparked up a pleasant conversation. Our table was ready right on time, and even though we didn't get a window seat .. it was ok.. the views were still amazing from our table.
Looking at the menu the prices were a bit steep, but we expected it for such a nice place. They had a two for special for 175.00 which included the 34oz Tomahawk Sirloin Steak for two. We were going to share the 14oz Ribeye anyways and it would have come out to just over 100 anyways.. and its our Anniversary! Lets Do It! So Happy we did! Every Course was amazing. Shrimp cocktail, salads for both of us, and then the Tomahawk! This was a sight to see.. and it was delicious. A bit done on the ends but expected for a 34oz steak. The sides were just as good. We know a good steak when we eat oneand this was up there with some of the best. We both had our share and still had enough steak for both of us the next day. Desert was fresh berries and cream. Out the door we were at 240.00 with the tip.. Well worth it for such a special occasion.
Service, Atmosphere, and the Food! Everything about this dinner was spot on! We will be back! Thank You for an amazing dinner!
Bravo Mariposa Bravo!
Stunning views and delicious food!
Excellent experience! Magical and delicious. Sedona's best! Thank you.
The restaurant is beautiful, the service exceptional, the food is pricey but delicious.
For our early dinner, we chose to sit outside under the covered patio, where we enjoyed an outstanding view of the red rocks. Actually, all the tables had an amazing view. Our waiter, Jesus, was attentive and friendly, and our water glasses were constantly being refilled~ which was much appreciated on a 100+ degree day! The food was interesting and tasty. We started by sharing the shrimp ceviche and plantain chips. Additional chips would have been nice ;) Our mains were chicken and steak - both dishes were cooked to perfection. The drinks menu offered a large variety of spirits, cocktails, wine and beer to choose from. Highly recommended!
Awesome food, awesome wine, and good service! And the outdoor seating is wonderful. Even the decor inside is cool.
Mariposa has become my new favorite place to dine. It's worth the drive from the valley to Sedona to eat at this amazing place. Not only is the food beyond fantastic but the wine list and the service and the view is unsurpassed. I literally can't say enough positive thigs about this amazing dining experience.
Food was great...service and staff lacking
Everything was as I expected the food , surroundings, views, service was excellent.
My main reason to go to Mariposa's was for the lemon mash potatoes with lobster and there again it was even better than I expected my wife and I could of made a meal just on the mash potatoes.
We had an amazing dinner with fantastic service. We'd go again in a heartbeat. The food and cocktails were incredible.
Great views- food was excellent as was service.
My fiancé and I passed by Mariposa at least 3 times a day while vacationing in Sedona, and finally decided to make a reservation. We were amazed. The atmosphere, the views, the service, the food, everything was perfect! Jesus was our waiter, he was very knowledgeable about the menu, attentive and such a pleasant man. Needless to say we had a wonderful experience and will be back here again! I hope everyone gets a chance to experience Mariposa while in Sedona! Thank you.
Mariposa was the perfect place for our anniversary dinner. The ambience, spectacular views, food, and service were excellent. I'd recommend sitting out on the patio if possible.
Mariposa has earned its plaudits: it's a beautiful, high-ceilinged spot with gorgeous views of Sedona's red rocks from a hillside west of town. The food is inventive, sophisticated, and flavorful from the assorted appetizers through the main courses to the desserts. It isn't cheap, but fine dining rarely is, and this is fine dining. A must for foodies and anyone who wants to experience the best of Sedona.
We love coming to Mariposa! The views are outstanding, the food is great, and the wine selection is amazing as well. The only issue we had this time was when they closed most of the blinds, the flies surrounded our food, and our server seemed to blame it on the sun, which was odd. Otherwise, everything was outstanding! We will definitely be back, but hopefully with a different server.
So delicious and beautiful.
We were worried about the place feeling a little too formal for us but we were very relaxed and comfortable there. Our server was fantastic with helping us order and making us feel welcome to stay and enjoy the evening. We got reservations so that we could be sure to watch the sunset from our table. It was a perfect evening.
While the ambiance, view of the Red Rocks, and service are exceptional, the food itself was less than outstanding considering the reputation for quality and the price paid for each entree and side. My wife and I both ordered the filet and lobster with sides of an gratin potatoes and charred cauliflower. We found the lobster to be quite delicious, the seasoning was fabulous and the sides, especially the cauliflower, were delectable. The filets, however, were amazingly ordinary. My wife’s filet was cooked to a fine medium rare, but mine was ordered to medium, which usually means some pink in the middle. My steak was over-seared on the outside with too much char and the inside was dry and more like medium well. Only the innermost center had any moisture in the meat, but you had to get through about 80% of the cut. The mushroom Gorgonzola sauce saved the steak, but for $62.00 a plate, you certainly expect to be wowed. We were not. The server was very professional and attentive, but it doesn’t make the disappointment go down easier. We came to Mariposa for its reputation for scenery, service, and culinary exceptionality. Given it was our anniversary, we were somewhat let down
Great views, did not wait for our table at all. We were seated next to a family which had two very small children who continued to whine throughout our meal. If you’re paying this much for meals the last thing you want is hearing kids. Entrées were very good. Menu is à la cart, waitress did a very poor job with explaining items on menu (we actually listen to another waiter telling his table about the menu and restaurant. Waitress didn’t come over and ask how our meal was until we were almost through. I ordered a no sweet ice tea and it took the waitress over 15 minutes to bring it to me. Overall it was a great meal I believe additional staff training is needed.
This was a special trip for us to Sedona. I googled best restaurants and Mariposa came up. Seating was on time. Asked if we would like indoor or outdoor. We chose outdoor because of the beautiful night. They wanted to seat us at a table for 2 next to the serving station which was busy and noisy. No table should be right next to the serving station, it looked like they just tried to fit in another table. We were seated inside, which is wonderful. Our waiter was informative and attentive. My wife ordered the soup and I had the grilled octopus. Both were good. For dinner she ordered the rack of lamb and I ordered a meat specialty with 3 meats on the plate. Her lamb came out burnt to a crisp. It was supposed to be medium rare, close, but almost one chop was not edible. We began eating and the waiter finally came over to see if our meals were ok. She inquired about her lamb chop being so burnt(black), and he said that since she wanted medium well, it was because of her request. Offered a new chop, but we were already half way through the meal. My meal was fine but nothing special.
We think the price was way too high for what we received. The view and atmosphere was outstanding but the price of the main meal and sides are way overpriced. We will not return if visiting again. Do not sit outside and take the main dining room. A special night out didn't turn out so well. I feel the chef cooking the meat was not attentive to his job and let the lamb burn and should have been previewed in the kitchen before serving. Not acceptable. Not worth the price on the menu for all dishes. This was to be our special night out.
Great food. Great service. Great view! Recommend for anyone that wants a wonderful meal in a beautiful setting. Sunset here is breathtaking. Views equally great inside or outside dining.
Very Excellent food but not if you are on a budget.
Victoria was our server and she was great!! She gave us a great dessert recommendation. Never had lemon mashed potatoes b4....they were almost like a dessert....both our filets were cooked to order....delicious just like Flemings. Had 5 PM reservation...sat outside w/ spectacular views. It was summer so we ended up swatting away a few flies :(
We had a wonderful time having dinner. The food was prepared very well and the service was great. The view was amazing and on a plus side I was proposed to out on the grassy area. Our waiter provided a celebration champagne and dessert. We will definitely be back for memories and the great food.
Amazing views and food
