Mariposa – Latin Inspired Grill is designed for the ultimate customer experience. The views from the patios and dining rooms could be the finest world wide. If that wasn’t enough – customers will enjoy browsing the restaurant and the grounds enjoying large scale art or star gazing in the dark Sedona night.

The cuisine is Latin Inspired, primarily from Chef Dahl’s interactions with chef’s in Argentina, Chile and Uruguay. Chef Lisa Dahl and her team focus on premium ingredients and many of the herbs are grown in the herb gardens in the restaurant courtyard. All meats and seafoods come from the very best sources – such as Newport and Beelers for the meats. For years Lisa has insisted on all organic vegetables from Arizona.

We are thrilled to offer pick up and return service to our West Sedona restaurants from your accommodations. Our luxury sprinter can handle parties of up to 11.

The entire experience was absolutely amazing. From the decor inside and out, to the best cuisine found in Sedona (maybe even Arizona) it seems like every detail was obsessed and planed. Do not miss the Octopus as an appetizer. Honestly, this place deserves a Micheline Star! This restaurant has been the highlight of my vacation!

This was our first trip here. Restaurant was very nice, well decorated and there was a really talented violinist playing who was excellent.

The food was fine, the filet was better than average but I’ve had a lot better and my wife had the chicken and it was very good.

The down part of the experience was this was our 24th anniversary and they knew it. Didn’t say one word.

Waiter we had was not friendly at all throughout the experience. Seemed as if we were a burden. He was nice to some of the locals but treated us and a couple near us poorly.

If we did decide to return we would request someone different. It threw a damper on the evening a little but we still enjoyed the music and the food.

Cool restaurant!! Going for sunset the best!
Fish was expensive and cold and raw in the muddle.
Waiter barely checked on us.

We were not pleased by the level of sodium on the lamb chops. Our filet mignon was also not prepared as requested. The overall experience was underwhelming from a food perspective. It appears that most of the focus was placed on the setting, landscape, & interior decor.

The red rock views walking up to the restaurant are amazing, great outdoor patio areas, the front door is art.
Once inside, the atmosphere and natural rock art work all around were fun to see. Truly unique feel and wonderful atmosphere.
They had a great wine selection, the dinner menu had some great choices, even for my wife who is vegetarian. Actually, the vegetarian Nirvana dish she ordered was my favorite dish we ordered.

I went back for lunch the next day to try the burgers, which are also great.

I highly recommend this place!

Food overall was very good. The ceviche starter was a bit disappointing. More like a shrimp cocktail than ceviche . We both dad the filet mignon which was tender and cooked to our liking. The au gratin potatoes were superb.
Service needs a little polish. Had to ask for steak knives and serving spoon for the potatoes

Our waiter was the highlight of our experience. He was outstanding!!!! A bit disappointed in the food as one of out guest's steaks was quite over cooked. The restaurant was quite gracious and offered to replace or delete from the bill. All in all we had a delightful evening!

As a "Foodie" from Los Angeles with a choice of many great restaurants Mariposa superseded 99% of them! Everything from explosive tender tastes on the palate from the Spanish Octopus to the poultry and beef filet. The Apple turnover a la mode with my expresso finished off the evening! If there was a Mariposa in Southern California I'd be there once a week! Its a must go!

Oh...and the grandest views to boot! Sit on the patio!

Shhh...I actually like the food more here than the evening before at L'auberge Cress Oak Creek and half the price! Both incredible places though with impeccable service.

Cheers!

The restaurant was beautiful and very romantic. Our wine was outstanding, recommended by the waitor. My steak was not cooked to order. It was sent back twice, each time the piece I cut into was missing as it returned. The sides tasted delicious but were served only barely warmed. We had the AuGratin potatoes and brussel sprouts. Unfortunately we were disappointed. It should have been better!

My husband and I went here on a Sunday night to celebrate our 1st anniversary. We were so excited about eating at one of Sedona's popular, award-winning, fine-dining restaurants. Our reservation was at 8:30pm after spending the day at the Grand Canyon. We had no clue that Sedona likes to shut down before 8pm. We got there on time and were seated right away. Our server was Mateo and he was friendly. We went over the menu and were quickly told that the "tapas" portion of the menu is actually appetizers. We walked into this place thinking it was a tapas restaurant (that's what is advertised on the website). We put in an order of the street corn, octopus and mussels to start and were told, "that's a lot of appetizers." I guess we're used to tapas restaurants with a bigger selection of tapas and it being the main portion of the meal, rather than having 2-3 tapas and a main meal. We then ordered the side mac and cheese, lobster mashed potatoes and the seafood trio. The apps came out all at once (not as they were prepared, like a tapas restaurant). The broth of the mussels was great, very hearty. The corn had good flavor. The octopus came out charred and minimal. Then something happened which really turned me off. We were 75% finished with our apps and the rest of the food came out! Seriously? Don't rush me while I am trying to enjoy a meal and eat. Plus, the food got cold! The employees seemed to be rushing to leave the place! Your website doesn't have a specific time of closure and it was still 10pm! Please work on the appropriate timing of bringing out food. The mac and cheese was fine. The lobster mashed potatoes were NOT worth $20; the sauce was watery and all the way at the bottom and everything else was flavorless. The seafood trio was nothing special. I am glad we ordered dessert so we didn't end the meal on a totally bad note. We got the Boca de Muerto with a decorative chocolate with "Happy Anniversary" on it. Overall, we were very disappointed.

Beautiful setting with amazing views. Very friendly service. We shared the seafood trio with lobster, scallops and shrimp and added another lobster tail. Appetizers looked awesome but we had an app a few hours prior and were stuffed just from splitting that plate. And the bread with herbed butter was very delicious also! Worth the drive from Phoenix for a nice, romantic dinner.

Absolutely spectacular in every way--the food was fresh and delicious, wine selection was comprehensive but approachable, service was outstanding, and the views from the full glass windows were gorgeous. The hostess made us feel so very welcome, and our server (Alan) was friendly, courteous, and helpful. We loved it so much that we came back the next day for lunch, on the fly, and were welcomed in the same delightful way! Highly recommend!

We went with great expectations given the reviews I had seen. Great view - we got there before sunset and had a seat outside and had a spectacular show against the red rocks. The service was good. Unfortunately the food was not up to the view. The food was not cooked to order. Two people in the party ordered steak - the NY strip ordered rare + was partially medium rare and part was medium - we did not send this one back as it could be eaten. The filet ordered medium was came out rare + - which the person cannot eat. They recooked the filet and it came out rare again - the two people switched steaks. One person ordered the seafood trio - the lobster was still translucent. After 2 re-cooks at the same table, I would have expected at least an apology, but didn't receive one - I think a manager delivered the re-cooked steak, but left before we could even check to see if it was cooked properly. Overall a disappointing visit.

We went to Mariposa while on vacation in Sedona. It came highly recommended, and did not disappoint. We each got a cocktail, shared some sides, and each got an entree. Everything was delicious, and the patio area offers heaters and a fantastic view of the red rocks. A must try while in Sedona!

Steak was underdone, i.e., raw, so I sent it back. It also had a lot of fat. $24 for a martini and a beer. The setting is great, with nice outdoor heaters, so go there for a sunset drink but the prices are out of line. Not worth it.

The view is why you come here - gorgeous outdoor seating area that overlooks the red rocks. While the wooden structure, fire pit, and design was beautiful, the details cheapened the overall feel - patio cushions with holes, terrible (and I mean terrible) green lighting made it feel like Frankenstein was behind the bar.

Food was good, not great, and overpriced (which we were ultimately okay with given we were here for the view). For being Latin inspired, spice and basic seasoning was lacking. Meat was cooked well (as in good, not - god forbid - well done).

Would happily go back again, but would be just as happy at any of the other great restaurants in Sedona (with a few dollars left in my wallet.)
