   Awesome venue! Good food and drinks. No Ubers in Sedona but the restaurant said they have a shuttle option if you want to book in advance. We just missed the sunset but still had a nice outdoor feel for our 8pm res. Friendly staff!

   Very nice place to eat with friends or for a date. The view was wonderful. The service was wonderful. The portion sizes felt a little small in comparison to the price, however it was very flavorful. Overall a lovely visit.

   Everything about Mariposa was outstanding, starting with their signature cocktail, the Mariposa (a blend of triple sec, vodka mango puree and a hot chili)… Service, decor, view outside… all outstanding. Had the tuna tartare lettuce wrap and the gazpacho last night and the churros and almost swooned. Going back tonight… that says it all. A must while in Sedona! Check the dress code, it’s definitely an upscale place.

   Excellent as always. The Chilean sea bass was particularly good. Nice, quiet, relaxing dinner with great service - our favorite place in Sedona. Make your reservations well in advance!

   The last time we were at Mariposa was a few years ago and back then it was a 5 star evening and meal. We were very disappointed this time. We were celebrating my wife's Birthday. We told our server that and it was mentioned in our "on line" reservation. Bottom line is he forgot until I reminded him after he brought us a dessert which we ordered. : ( My wife's meal came to the table cold and had to be sent back. Unfortunately for the price we paid, it was not worth it! Lots of appologies from our server but it did not make up for the disappointing evening and meal.

   Food is outstanding and the atmosphere cannot be beat. Don’t forget to ask the waiter for recommendations. One person in our party doesn’t like spicy food and he was able to point her in the right direction. Apps are fantastic and it was hands down one of the best meals we had in Sedona. There is an open area outside to view the sunset and red rocks. Our reservation was early but we stayed later outside to watch the sunset and take pictures.

   This is a beautiful restaurant that is wonderful in every respect except the food. Fish tacos and empanadas were a grade below that served on most food trucks. Yucca fries were excellent as were drinks. Perhaps bigger dishes and evening menu is better but we felt we had over paid for mediocre meals.

   We were in Sedona for my wife’s birthday and this place was outstanding. Ceaser our server was amazing and we had such a great meal here. Food was incredible as were our drinks. Beautiful views and amazing food what more could you ask for.

    Beautiful views at sunset, only problem was the wife could see them but my back was to the window. Food and service was fantastic. One down side they add a 3% surcharge to the bill for business expenses, this is added before tax so you not only have to pay tax on this 3%, your expected to tip on it too. Tip to Lisa Dahl, just raise your menu price by 3% instead of this BS.

    Service dipped off mid way through. One meal was undercooked and no one checked until everyone was done eating. Service wasn’t the same stellar experience as previous visits Pros: Food is always great. Ambiance is also enjoyable. Views are incredible. Cons: 3% service fee was added, electronic bill pay at table; prefer no tip pressure and definitely not calculated off the total including the tax and service fee.

Next time, please ask for a manager so we can make sure everything is perfect. Our business costs continue to climb significantly, instead of increasing our menu prices, the business fee offsets a minor portion of our increases, and we have posted the notice on our menus. We are proud of our business efficiencies, and this fee reflects our commitment to excellent operations.

    Parking was a nightmare. If people would actually leave after dining instead of standing around outside it wouldn't be an issue.

    Excellent dinner experience at the Mariposa. Our meal was amazing; grilled octopus to start and we both had the filet. Probably one of the best filets I've ever had. Highly recommend it!!

    The consensus from our party of four is that the Mariposa – Latin Inspired Grill in Sedona, AZ, provided us the best dining experience from cocktails to cuisine to customer service that we have had the pleasure of encountering in our many destination dining travels. Our server, Jesus, was engaging and efficient from the moment we were seated to the time we departed the beautifully appointed Mariposa restaurant with stunning views of the magical Red Rocks of the Oak Creek Canyon area. Each of the appetizers, entrees, shared sides, and cocktails ordered were exquisitely prepared and artfully presented. There’s no doubt that the Mariposa Chef(s) and Sous Chefs are highly skilled and talented culinary artists whose knowledge of complex ingredient combinations, balance of flavor profiles, and masterful preparation techniques resulted in as near a perfect meal that my wife, our friends, and I have shared. Simply put, the Mariposa-Latin Inspired Grill is truly a special place. It’s time for a Michelin Star.

    What a great experience! We were amazed at the beauty both inside and out. Every staff member we interacted with was polite and helpful. The food, especially the Queso Mac&Cheese and the chicken, were absolutely delicious! We left raving about how much we loved almost everything about our experience. The only downfall was that the dress code wasn't enforced. Looking around, there were people in yoga pants and tennis shoes. For those of us dressed as requested, it was a bit of a letdown.

    I know a lot of people rave about Mariposa but I find it to be a little overrated. The views are amazing (they are everywhere in Sedona, though). The food may not be my style, and it’s prepared well, but it just didn’t “wow” me in terms of quality. If you travel a lot, I have a feeling your meal will be less memorable. It’s a beautiful place for a cocktail, though. Be sure to reserve well (months?) in advance.

    If you are here, then you have heard of Lisa Dahl's restaurants. This is our first one. Believe the positive acclaim her restaurant Mariposa receives. If the cost is off-putting then you may not appreciate that the care Lisa put into her diners' total experience, from being announced inside to the spacing of the tables to the dress code. Mariposa is a restaurant for those who see dining as singular an event as going to the theater or a museum. You are there to eat and drink and Mariposa takes care of you. My wife and I had the pleasure of being cared for by Mariah, Shelly and Matt on her birthday. They seated us right by the window. The view of the red rocks was calming, even as the sun went down. For opening drinks my wife had the white sangria which she found refreshing throughout the meal. I had the 12 Year Storm. Their rich version of a Dark n' Stormy. We had the pulpo parrilla to start. Octopus so soft to the tongue and not too chewy. The birthday girl had the skirt steak. Velvety soft and tender. Nicely complimented by the creamed kale. I had the Flores del Mar. A delightful seafood medley in a spicy broth over quinoa. I paired it with a chardonnay recommended by Shelly. I got the chocolate boca for dessert, the right amount of rich chocolate in my opinion and they served my wife a special birthday dessert of vanilla ice cream with salted caramel which she found heavenly. And of course a cappuccino which was perfect. It was an evening to remember.

    We arrived 30min before our reservation and wanted to have a drink at the bar and the host was rude and said it would take too long to get a drink and we need to wait outside. There is a sign with a dress code and yet it is not enforced. This place is not worth the hype and the service was awful and The utensils were dirty. So much for fine dining. The only thing good was the view.

    Service was slow and had to be reminded of things we ordered. Mac & cheese was cold and sent back to be warmed. Food overall was fine but just felt the experience for the price was not worth it.

    Mariposa is extraordinary in appearance and food. The waitstaff attentive without being overbearing. We were told to split the salad and appreciate the suggestion. By me getting the appetizer scallops and my husband the 14 oz rib eye…perfect amount of food to share.

    Mariposa is a must go for a great dining experience every time I come to Sedona. This time was no exception. Gazpacho was perfect, empanadas melted in your mouth, the Kale Goddess was heavenly. We had the lamb ossobuco which was very good, but wasn’t classic ossobuco but simply delicious lollipops. I had the by the glass Meritage (amazing if you want a wonderful soft and full bodied red). Desert was flan. I would give up crème brûlée if I could get this other places where I dine. Lisa & others please keep up the extraordinary work!

    Very refined experience. It's one of the few restaurants I've been to these past few years that make a point about having a dress code but, for better or worse, it's not really enforced. No bread was served as part of the meal and when we asked were told it's available on request. I took that to mean it would be provided gratis. I was wrong. Also, some slip ups in their shared service style. But these are just quibbles. Meat was cook as ordered, sides (potatoes, elote) were delicious and pace of meal was spot on.
