The food and service are excellent and the ambiance was so lovely. Erin was our server and she was fantastic. Highly recommend the Bison!
Food was way below par
Mariposa exceeded our expectations. Food, service, ambiance was outstanding. We will be back. Thank you for a wonderful date night experience!
We had a lovely evening, cozy atmosphere. Very limited menu but we liked what we ordered. Chef was not flexible about substitutions- we wanted one of the courses from the tasting menu as an a al carte but chef declined. We would not highly recommend this restaurant if you want options and a fuller menu.
We love being able to bring our own wine to Park City restaurants!
Although the decor seems mostly unchanged since the restaurant opened (this is NOT a negative) the food is incredibly modern, yet still wholesome and filling as needed following a day on the slopes. The tables are comfortably spaced, keeping the noise level down. The service was great - our server had great knowledge of the food and the wine menu as well. Little extras like the amuse bouche the after dinner chocolates really make the dining experience even more special. This would be a great restaurant for a romantic dinner, but the dining style and portion sizes work well for groups as well.
place seems to have slipped. Narrow eclectic menu. not good place for those without that type of palate.
too many better places to eat for better value with more diverse menu
Fantastic food and service! A bit pricey but sooo worth it!
Quiet, cozy setting. Unique, delicious food. Loved it!
Un lugar muy bonito y toda la comida espectacular, con sabores muy originales
The woman at front desk was very rude and condescending . On arrival we were told table wasn’t ready but we could wait by fire “if we wanted’ . After about 15 minutes another group of 4 arrived and they were greeted and shown right through so I asked how much longer our table would be and was answered very curtly a few minutes . When we were finally shown our table the same woman said very condescendingly “sorry you had to wait 10 minutes” . It was not 10 minutes !
If I were to judge this restaurant purely on our first impression I would give it a 1 star if that .
After that the service and food was great .
First impressions always count this place should remember . I actually felt like leaving while waiting as I felt so uncomfortable .
Chantal was an amazing server. Passionate, smart and very sweet.
Always impeccable service and wonderful food!
The food was delicious. The atmosphere was dampened a bit by the dirty tables next to us that were empty, yet were not bussed. We had to look at dirty dishes, crumbs and wine stains throughout our dinner. There were other tables near us that were left in the same condition after the diners left. I don’t understand why they would leave tables like that
The service was excellent. The menu and wine list was limited. The food was well prepared and tasty. The atmosphere was inviting.
Bathroom should be installed closer to the restaurant
Both fish and duck over cooked. The matre dee gave away our table to another couple even thou we had checked in and just went to the bathroom. Wine list overpriced. Our main waiter was excellent.
Really, really good. Delicious, quiet and away from the hubbub of Main Street
The steak tartar was a bit sour, the bison was OK but not great and the Wagu was excellent. The prices were very high but the service was outstanding
Amazing meal! Wonderful food, fantastic service, cozy ambience.
Fabulous food and knowledgeable skilled service
We made a reservation for my birthday with another couple in Park City on a ski vacation from Houston, TX. We haven’t had a meal this good since a 3-Michelin star restaurant in Paris last year. Every dish we tried was wonderful and interesting. Our server, John, was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the food and the wine list. The Beggar’s Purse, wild mushrooms in a puff pastry, was probably my favorite along with the fish main course and the scallop. The chocolate tray for dessert was to die for if you are a chocolate-lover. We come the Park City every year, and this is our new favorite restaurant.
Warm and cozy, but the food was not up to par.
It was fantastic!!
Zagat rated for reason.
Food is excellent. Wine list is nice, but excessively (3 X retail) overpriced. Will bring our own wine next time and pay corkage fee.
Mariposa is always a delightful treat. There is lots new on the menu, but we did miss the gnocchi appetizer
Excellent service. Great food selections. Top notch experience.
We absolutely enjoy every meal we have at Mariposa!
Fantastic in every way! We special requested Erin as our server because she truly is amazing!
Mariposa was amazing. We had a very nice table on the second floor and our service was incredible. We had our two kids with us and the servers were really nice to them, which is sometimes unusual when we bring them to fancy restaurants! Food was amazing and very good portions to enjoy but not feel stuffed. The drive up and surrounding village is also a great site.
I only leave reviews if I have had a very good or very bad experience. This was one of our most disappointing meals and it cost us over $500 for two people. We live in Park City and I had been wanting to try this restaurant. So, we went for New Year’s when there was a set menu for $160 per person. The wine pairing was $110 per person for small 3 oz pours, which we passed on. The chef seemed to be trying WAY too hard and yet the food was not great. Our server was very nice, but the service was patchy...took forever between courses and most of the food came out lukewarm. They forgot to bring our coffee and we had to remind them. The atmosphere is cozy, but very (old school) Deer Valley. I went to the bathroom and had to walk through a freezing cold cafeteria to get to it. Overall a very disappointing experience, especially at the price.
Have been coming to Park City for over 12 years and have always heard great things about Mariposa. Had reservations for New Year's eve and had great expectations - $160@ and Prix Fixe menu - all looked good. After our waiter took our drink and dinner orders, he disappeared...and I mean DISAPPEARED - did not see him for 1/2 hour, at least. Drinks took too long to be delivered and the first course took longer - my kumamoto amuse bouche was delicious, but the wife's veggie one was microscopic. Next course took close around another 15 and was meh. Still no sign of our waiter - bus boys/expediters dropping all of the food off - no swing by to see how things were going. Then, the "chef's surprise" course was scrumptious, but things went downhill from there. They completely forgot the 3rd course and brought out a fourth that was a complete fail - both were ice cold and mine was completely wrong - brought me a veggie one and I ordered the meat courses. So, now it is 10pm, we are 1.5 hours into it, on just our 3rd course, which was totally wrong - epic fail. At that point we asked for the manager and told him that we would pay for our drinks, but were done with dinner and could not pay for it. He was very gracious, picked up the entire bill and was very apologetic for the service and the chef (Tim?). Asked us to come back and give them another chance. We are spectacularly disappointed, especially after an equally disappointing experience at Powder. Hopefully the next one will be better...
Cold steak, tasteless risotto, and painfully slow service on our New Years Eve visit. Everyone seemed unhappy in our dining area, including the patrons and staff.
A sensation for the senses!!!
The menus posted on Open Table are misleading. Almost nothing on the Gluten free menu was available. The main menu is a bit heavy and some lighter food options would round out the menu. Also the portions were ridiculously small for the prices.
Lovely place, great food!
Amazing dining experience! Each item was a culinary delight. Professional servers and hostess. I look forward to my next visit.
Excellent food and presentation. Unique dining experience. Outstanding service
We are locals and its Christmas eve, wasn't that busy really, surprised? Our server was lovely but slow and disjointed, maybe she had too many tables? Sat at table for 20 minutes before we had our wine opened, amuse' came after first course, NO MUSIC? weird not even background, I don't know it just seemed a bit lifeless like we were eating a fine dinner in a ski lodge ( wait we were) wasn't the cozy festive dinner i had thought it "could be"... Could do so much better. Food was good, plating could be more creative but food quality was good.
We have dined and loved the Mariposa for 30 years and thought that last night the food was better than ever. Can't wait to return.
Consistently great food and friendly but not over done service!
