World-class dishes. The bread, strawberry butter, and the chicken broth are simply amazing.
Great celebration lunch!
My friends and I gathered for a post-holiday lunch on Sunday, 1/14 at 1pm and our overall experience was just OK. The restaurant wasn't easily recognizable and there were no signs pointing us in the right direction. Once we were seated, our server (an older gentleman) brought over a biscuit with chicken soup, which was tasty. At that same time, my friend noticed her coffee mug had a lipstick stain so she asked for a new cup for her coffee. Instead of immediately apologizing and promptly getting her a new cup, our server stood there for a good 10 -15 seconds, inspecting the cup. He then proceeded to say that the cup just had coffee residue and walked away. Totally unnecessary. A friend and I ordered the bloody mary and in the description, there was supposed to be a carrot. When our drinks arrived, no carrot! The drink itself tasted a bit watered-down and we both felt it wasn't worth the $11. Finally, after the last of our group arrived, our server came over to take our orders. The food came out fairly quickly, which was nice. But instead of knowing who ordered what items (there was only 5 of us and the restaurant had about 2-3 other tables occupied), he had no clue. We expected better service for a restaurant that has higher than average prices but instead, there was a disconnect and several inconsistencies that resulted in an overall mediocre experience. I probably won't dine here again.
Lunch date with my husband. We asked for water after getting the check and prior to paying but our request was either forgotten or ignored, not sure. 😐. The food was excellent and we enjoyed our lunch together.
The service is typically atrocious... and this was no exception. It’s a nice dining room to meet friends for lunch. But don’t expect to get out quickly.
The bright spot is the bus boy who has been there for quite a while.
He keeps the dining room moving.. he clears tables, serves . He keeps the place together with kindness and a smile.
He is terrific and should be called out for his service.
On the other hand the waiter was disinterested, bored and should look for another occupation.
Does not take Visa gift cards. Quuet. Expensive. Pretty. Good fir a special lunch.
It is always hit or miss at Mariposa. They have a very special product. It is a very beautiful atmosphere. The food is good. It is a beautiful place for a ladies’ luncheon. They do not have enough staff. The lighting is terrible. There is no ambience, like music (you are dining in a department store......). The staff is so harried, you have to flag someone down to get anything, and a luncheon takes a full two hours. It can get embarrassing, things take so long. BUT, the entire experience is fun. The food is pretty good, and the restaurant is pretty.
Food was great. Our server was terrible this time; no drinks brought to the table after 15 minutes, no follow-up the whole meal until I asked for the check.
My daughters and I have been coming here for years for an annual Christmas lunch. We won’t be back. Front hostess was rude and marked us as a no show. Service was awful. Water never refilled, waiter never checked in. My daughter asked for coffee. Took 30 minutes and was lukewarm. Very disappointed.
Made a 9:00am reservation on Sunday which was confirmed. Arrived promptly a 9:00 to discover the restaurant closed. Why would open table confirm reservation when closed. Not a great way to start the day.
Slow service & my main course was cold by the time it was served...
The waiter failed to tell us that the reason why we received
Favorite place for special occasions.
Food is great!
Lots of options.
Great special the day we went to lunch. Steak/shrimp with mashed potatoes and vegetable. My husband was very pleased with the entree.
It was his birthday, so they gave us a flourless chocolate cake slice for dessert. Really good!
Our go -to lunch spot when we want to be somewhere special. Love the menu choices, the ambience and the wait staff. Shortly after you arrive you are served the most delicious taste of chicken broth with a tiny scone, and one of their famous popovers served with creamy strawberry butter. Yum!
The crab bisque and their blackened salmon tacos are two of my favorites.
Love this place. Nouse level low so you can have a conversation
Ricardo was our server and he was expert on the menu and a fabulous server. I'm always impressed when a server remembers the order without notes.
Great selection of desserts befitting our birthday occasion and the lemon one was divine!
Prices are more than normal other places considering its a café, smaller place to grab a bite. I love the quietness, but since I eat out a lot and been to other places, their prices need to be adjusted to be more attractive so more people can frequent this place.
Excellent food; very nice atmosphere and pleasant experience. Only disappointment was how long it took for our lunch order to actually arrive at the table, and that our waitress seemed to disappear for a long time... No check-ins to say "your order is on the way" or "can I get anyone another beverage?"; I would have liked a refill of tea while waiting, and my friends' glasses were empty, too. From a friend who has dined there before, it seems this is atypical, but it did get me thinking that any future meals there should allow for much more time than expected. We were on a business lunch, and all of us had to cancel meetings right after lunch because our orders took about 40 min to arrive at the table; all items ordered were sandwiches or salads.
The broth and biscuit served at the beginning was such a delight and so delicious. What a pleasant and tasty surprise. A hidden gem in Neiman Marcus. The service and attention to detail were great. The food was well worth the price.
This is our "go to" spot for out of town friends, and also our choice for what we joyfully refer to as our pick for "a very civilized lunch." The food is fresh, tasty, flavorful and a bit imaginative, and the wait staff couldn't be better!
From the moment you sit down, you're greeted with a little taste of the best chicken consomme' imaginable, accompanied by a wonderful little cheese scone. And then the popovers arrive! Oh!
these egg-y delights melt in your mouth as easily as the strawberry butter spreads across these little gems!
Open at this point only for lunch, but I'm hoping...
A disappointing experience for Mother's Day 2017 lunch. Have been several times in the past and always had delicious food and impeccable service, but not this time. We had to request waters and no specials were shared from our server who mentioned that she was "very new" several times and could
not answer question on food preparation. My favorite salad had been removed from the menu, my popover was burned, and so was my grilled sandwich! I was the one that had picked the restaurant for our family of 5, and I felt embarrassed I had raved about it so! I thought it might have just been a fluke for a busy Mother's Day service, except that when I mentioned it to my co-worker the following day, she said she had also had a bad experience the week before there with the same "very new" server. Too bad, we drove an hour to get there from Sumner. Won't be back.
They always take such good care of me, and I love to celebrate here. Attention to detail is a excellent! I can always bring my business contacts or special events to Mariposa, and know it will be a home run experience. Thank you!
Excellent! We came back for a second time the next day. Service really set this restaurant apart. Also, the food was delicious with a lot of nice small details, like fresh pop-overs with strawberry!
A lovely spot inside of Neiman Marcus. Shop and then eat when you're hungry. I loved being here and having the marvelous popovers, which I have missed since moving from Dallas. I would definitely recommend and return. Thank you!
Lunch was excellent, service was outstanding!
They take good care of me
Overall very good. Tuna poke bowl was the low point but still okay. Other dishes were better.
I always enjoy dining at Mariposa. The service is great and the food is always good. It's just a great atmosphere for my friends and I to get together. I also notice lots of families gathering there as well.
I think that the service overall and the attention from the manager, Jill, is exceptional.
Love going to Mariposa. We safe this special place for our special occasions
I am a frequent Mariposa customer. My guests celebrated my birthday.
We were beautifully hosted by server Hugo & manager Jill.
They surprised with a gorgeous & generous piece of gourmet cake--heavenly!
Wonderful service and delicious and interesting food
While the restaurant and ambience was delightful, the acoustics and noise level were high.
Dining at Mariposa is always an elegant and relaxing occasion. Food is not only fresh and delicious but presented beautifully by gracious servers. Would like to comment on the server I have had during my last two visits. Her name is Sam (assume short for Sammantha) and she is such a delight. Will request her when I make reservations for my next leisure and delectable lunch. Just wish Mariposa was open for dinner.
Very lovely place for lunch. Ambiance and service were great. Nice spot to take a friend for a birthday lunch. Would be great if they had a private room for a birthday party or any other ladies event.
Servers are personable but seem to have too many tables to cover
The French fries were really terrible. Over done, tasteless. They put potato chips on the
plate with my roll up (which was excellent by the way) that were so stale they weren't
even crunchy. My husband did not like his sandwich at all, rated it poor. The chocolate
chip cookies need to be revamped or discontinued. They tasted like something out of a box
at the grocery store.
Great service. Love the bouillon and popover. Love calories listed
A hidden treasure in Bellevue. Lovely ambience, great food and service!
