Mario's Osteria Ratings and Reviews
Always enjoy going to Mario’s. Daniel was a great server, very knowledgeable about the food. I had chicken meatballs which not too many places have and they were very good besides being quite large. The other two diners enjoyed their meals also. One was eggplant parm. Which was a huge portion and the other was a vegan whole wheat pasta. All in all, a very good night. Love the ambiance there also
MArio's was awesome this past weekend! We had a large group of ladies for a birthday celebration. The food was awesome and the service was great! We didn't feel rushed and had a nice long meal and visited over drinks afterwards. The Lobster Ravioli and the Beef Carpaccio were my favorites.
Celebrated my sons birthday tonight at Mario Osteria. The restaurant was very crowded, noisy and many undisciplined children running around. Our waiter was hard of hearing so the communication was difficult. He forgot several items, and did not promptly clear our table which caused a full drink to fall into my sons lap. Did not make for a good start. We ordered many appetizers and dishes. The calamari was cold and lacking flavor. The zucchini was bland and mozzarella balls had no taste. The mussels were fine. The salad was also lacking flavor. The main courses were brought out promptly, my sons steaks dish was flavorful but the waiter forgot to bring his bolognese and his food got cold. The. Baked ziti was tasteless, butternut squash ravioli Had a good flavor but was also cold. My other son had uncooked burger when asked for medium. What a major disappointment! Have had multiple parties here before and never had such a horrible experience. Overall, the food was not good nor the service. Time to say good bye to Mario Osteria.
Food & sitting outside is always great, what made it perfect was our waitress Marni, fabulous at every level, can't go back without asking to sit in her section❗️
When we left told mgr. Mary how fabulous she was, she said we receive compliments on Marni all the time. Ask for her when you go, so nice👍
Great surprise, first time visiting this restaurant and we will come again. Food awesome, the service great ambiance fantastic. Delicious Italian food, great menu lots of options and allow you to modify some plates without complain and very good prices. I recomend Mario's Osteria you will not regret the visit.
We've been going to mario's for 20+ years, in three different locations, so it's safe to say we've enjoyed it. Took some friends last weekend and raved about the place. On our suggestion, they got the Sunday gravy dish. It was NOT what we had had in the past. No sauce at all. Our server noticed that and said he'd bring some. MANY minutes later (the pasta was not hot) he brought a cup of marinara sauce. Ugh.
Our garlic rolls and salads were fantastic as always.
Our service was not. We had to wait and look for our waiter several times, and when we wanted something, it seemed to tak much too long for a restaurant that was 1/2 empty.
I think we will try again, but with so many other good choices, this was quite disappointing.
Wasn't up to par. This is my 4th visit. This is the first time when the drinks 2 out of 4 were wrong. The food was just OK. The Veal Parm tasted pre made . My wife's Lasagna was burned on the bottom. We had asked the waiter to order the salads ahead of the main course. Of course it almost came together. I will not be returning.
We had the fired zucchini and the calamari and both were very good as an appetizer. The shrimp parmesan and the shrimp scampi were both good, but the scampi was too spicy for me even though it was nicely made. The veal Francaise was also very good. If I have it again, I will ask them to leave out the red pepper flakes. The only meal that was a problem was the shrimp fra diablo which was over cooked. Our service was very good, but we found it difficult to talk since there was six of us and the noise level was a problem for a couple of us.
We have been eating there since it opened. Had a couple of big bday parties there even before you took reservations...
You changed the pizza from even about a month ago, almost no cheese and the sauce danced over it. You had the BEST pizza around, now my least favorite. Not sure why the cut back but we were extremely disappointed. And we had guests with us.
I don't like to complain but I did call yesterday and asked that my displeasure be told to the mgr. I did not leave my name, I wasn't asking for anything.
Our waiter seemed like a drill Sargent when he rattled off the specials. He literally had a short and rehearsed answer to every question and it seemed like he did not care to interact on any level but business. Then he argued with my husband about the beer, insisting he was correct about a certain type of beer- he wasn't. I had been seated for less than 1 second before he wanted my drink order but I wasn't even offered a wine list. He made our time there feel rushed. Kids get a coloring page and crayons but there is no kids menu. The grilled calamari was excellent. We ordered a pizza for the kids and it was good as well. The seafood Mario was good- nice sized scallops. The clams and mussels were small. Portion was enough to share.
I had an 8:00 reservation and was seated 1/2 hour after my reservation. They seated a couple before us even though they didn't have a reservation. I questioned why they were seated before us and the manager said that they were waiting over an hour. I said that I had a reservation and was told that I was next to be seated and instead they seated the other couple. The manager didn't even apologize. After all that, the food wasn't even that good. I absolutely would not return to this restaurant.
