Marino Ristorante is deeply rooted in the idea of doing all things the right way. Today the family owned restaurant, is giving its welcoming by Mario, Jr. and mom, Maria. The room is simple. A wall of glass, softened by out of door planters full of ficus, faces the famous Melrose Avenue. The soft colored walls, starched white linen cloths, the silver sugar caddy and votive holders and subdued oil paintings all come together to create its appeal. And then there is the food. Ciro, Mario and Sal were the first of the handful of chefs who are out daily in the early morning markets personally selecting the ingredients for the menu and seeking out the most interesting and pristine items for the specials. Placing yourselves in Mario’s hands for the tasting menus proves to be a wise decision. Also known for his knowledge of wines Mario will recommend the menu and wines to best meet your dining expectations. The Marino wine list has been repeatedly an award winner by Wine Spectator.

An upper West side neighborhood vibe. NIce atmosphere. Full bar although not a destination for only drinks. We were there for almost 2.5 hours with great service and no feeling of being rushed even though the place was packed. Wife and I were there for the first time and really enjoyed our evening. Great food. Fantastic service as stated. We'll be back.
The food at Marino was outstanding. We went for dinner before a show at the Pantages and it was also our 20th Annniversary. Despite putting the information about our anniversary in our reservation on Open Table the owner and staff did not acknowledge this. That was definitely disappointing, but the staff was attentive and we were extremely pleased with our appetizers and main dishes.
This restaurant is a gem! The owner, Chef and entire staff make you feel like a guest in their home. The food is so fresh and amazingly tasty. Truly authentic Italian cuisine using the flavors of each season. It’s nice for a romantic date, a dinner with couples and friends, and they even have a separate room for private parties. We have gone to this restaurant for all occasions. The Chef, is extremely creative with fresh seasonal tastes that burst in your mouth. Try it once, and you too will be back again and again!
First time dining at this restaurant so we were looking forward to it so much! However, we felt very rushed during the whole night. The waiter made us to order everything at once since kitchen is busy... We were going to order appetizer first then think about entrees.. they couldn't accommodate that. Also, didn't allow us to taste the wine instead just brought the bottle of wine and opened it.. what if we didn't like the wine?
Plus, the server never asked how we would like to have our steaks cooked.
It was just a not a pleasant dining experience.
Our family have been to Marino's on multiple occasions - just regular dinner out and special occasions like birthdays and New Year's Eve - and it never fails to be excellent. Monday's excursion was for my mother's 94 birthday, and they treated her nicely, and made it just a really special night out, and that doesn't even take into account the excellent food, presentation, and overall ambiance. I would recommend Marino's to anyone who likes a great italian meal,
Marino Restaurant is by far the best Italian food you can experience in the Los Angeles area. Classy and upscale, yet cute and romantic. Family owned. Exquisite meal choices to leave your taste buds begging for more. And even better than the incredibly food is the people who work there. Any night we go to Marino's we are treated special, as if we too were family. Now that's Italian!!!
Sal Marino has brought my favorite haunt to a new level. He is a very accomplished chef and with his brother, Mario, running the front of the house it is a brilliant combo. Everything I have here is superb; ask for their off the menu, pizza bread, yum. Tomato Wednesday was a real treat.
This is one of our favorite go to restaurants. The food is always outstanding. It's a lovely venue. Mario is such a lovely man and aims to please. The service is always amazing. We had their heirloom tomato with fresh mozzarella cheese drizzled with extra virgin olive oil and a sprinkling of crunchy pork skin. It was heaven. You'll never be disappointed here.
Delectable and authentic Italian cuisine, fabulous wine list, expertly-crafted cocktails all served by a top-notch staff that has the perfect balance of genuine friendliness and sterling service. Neighborhood gem that makes you feel welcome and part of the family. I love Marino!
Sal continues to dazzle us with his skill and originality. The Tuna crudo special was the best thing ANY of us had EVER tasted. WOW. The truffle niocchhi, tomato gazpacho was superb. What a delight for our taste buds. Everything we had was stellar.
Mario & Rita's hospitality is unparalleled. Our friends came from OC and LOVED it.
This may have been my favorite Marino meal yet! Got there on a Tomato Wednesday, where every dish features some fabulous variety or other of tomato. Our lunch consisted of the Gialla (sp?) And Burrata Pizza, the Clam Linguine, and the Gnocchi With Mushrooms -- all paired with a super decadent Chardonnay... and we were DYING from ecstasy!!!
