Sal Marino is the best underrated chef in Los Angeles! From satisfying Italian cuisine to exquisite tasting menus, he does it all with fresh ingredients often grown in his garden, fresh fish, always quality ingredients. Sal delivers a truly satisfying dining experience!!!
I was blown away by the service and the food here. This will now be a regular stop for us.
AMAZING AS ALWAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOVE SAL (CHEF) & MARIO (OWNER) & DANIEL/ANDREA SERVERS.
Marino’s is always an absolute pleasure, the meals are prepared fresh and the staff is always pleasant and friendly.
I like the owner and I feel at home and I like the food I like the fact it is a small restaurant and private
Sweet staff and excellent dinner
Love it .. finally a place we're you can talk with your friends and you don't have to scream at each other .. my boyfriend and i go very seldom out anymore you can't have conversations it's to noisy
plus were ever we go you have to stare at one ore multiple TVs ... food was fantastic ..this is my Favorit spot
Congratulation for being so different and keeping up old traditions
I will be back very soon
Marino's is good old fashioned, home made bliss. The featured specialties change daily for lunch and dinner, you can have a quiet conversation and the owner's Marion and Sal are just perfect hosts. And the food is terrific
We had a wonderful time here! We came for my birthday and everything was perfect. The service, the food, the ambience, all top notch. We will definitely be back!
It was my first time at Marino's and I truly had a wonderful experience! The dining room is lovely, charming, and romantic. The food is really delicious, probably the best Italian food I have had at a restaurant . They had e complete vegetarian tasting menu which was well thought-out and not just thrown together. The waiter recommended a great wine for our table. I am looking forward to going again!
The food and the service were terrific. They are always very open to special requests.
Great restaurant for a business or personal lunch or dinner. Friendly service, very good food quality.
food was unreal. they made us wait 80 minutes after our original reservation time to sit, and then made us wait another 20 minutes after we had given our cards to process our check at the end. the food was a dream but the operations of the restaurant could have been much smoother
Marino Ristorante is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. I have dined there 4 times now, because I just keep wanting to go back. I have taken my friends, dates, and parents there on multiple occasions and it always exceeds my expectations with fantastic, personable service. The owner is one of the sweetest people and truly cares about his customers experience. 10/10 would recommend:)
If you want the best Lasagna you have ever tasted, then you need to go to Marino's Hollywood. The pasta is like a cloud floating from the plate to your mouth with these wonderful tastes that pleasure your palate.
The warm restaurant and welcoming host(s) are so cordial and courteous, they make everything so easy, especially ordering from their regular menu or the superb tasting menu that varies from week to week.
Our reservation was for 5:30 pm (for three persons). An early Saturday eve dinner.
We got there exactly on time, the restaurant was pretty much empty, but the host insisted that we go through the kitchen into a room in the back that lacked decor and the ambiance was more like my grandmother's dining room. I told him i did not like the room, and he apologized and gave me an excuse that the other room would be too noisy, rather than telling me the truth.. they had overbooked! In an effort to be accommodating, we stayed on and ordered the food and ordered a high end wine. The wine list is wonderful and reasonable. I explained that one of our guests cannot tolerate salt, and asked the server to recommend dishes that the chef can make with no salt, or ensure that salt is not added (heart pumping issues with sodium, and an important issue). The veal with fungi dish that we ended up ordering was so salty that it is unimaginable. The two of us that can tolerate salt could not handle it, and the person that cannot tolerate salt could not touch the dish. Thankfully the appetizers and the pasta course were good, so that we did not leave the table starving.
All in all a poor dining experience. The ambiance that you see on the website is not what we got. The the first two courses were fine, but the main course could have been a great dish if they had not over salted. I will not return to this place... there are so many other wonderful restaurants in LA, and it is a shame.
The food is so fresh and good. We love eating here.
Went for Valentine’s Day. Food was delicious, for both of us. Early reservation so was only a few couples when we got seated. Staff was very attentive. Value wise on the higher end of options for Valentine’s Day so if not a special date night probably can do better elsewhere.
Fantastic service and food
Our first time here and the entire staff made us feel so welcome like we have been regulars for years! Food is excellent, had the vegetarian tasting menu and it was great! Will be coming back again vey soon!
I simply love this place.
It’s my favorite and one of the best Italian restaurants in Los Angeles.
Food is exceptional and always prepared with the freshest ingredients. The service is exemplary as well as there wines selections.
I would recommend this restaurant for a great lunch or evening out with friends or business associates.
We love the food here and service is always attentive without being intrusive. It's just too noisy to carry on conversations which makes it difficult to enjoy everything. We were also seated in a table in the middle of the dining room which had the wait staff occasionally bumping the back of our chairs as they passed through to other tables which is not pleasant but for the food we would return over and over again.
This is one of our favorite restaurants in LA; the fish is always the freshest around and Sal Marino is a master chef and prepares it beautifully. Mario, his brother, is a great host! Be sure and ask for their off menu pizza bread. Their business lunch at $25 is a great bargain.
Excellent food and service.never disappoints us.
Wonderful spot with a truly charismatic host and chef that make you feel right at home. Friendly but unobtrusive waiters and bussers. And truly spectacular food, ranging from California Italian with tomatoes from Chef Sal's garden to wonderfully hearty lasagna. Love this spot!
We love this restaurant. Every dish we have ordered has been a big hit with our family.
The owner, staff and chef remember us every time we are there and they are super
accommodating to our children (ages 7 and 2). It's a must for all who love Italian food.
The place is very old and tired with filthy carpet. I asked for grilled chicken on my salad which they gladly added. The chicken was horrible and I put it in a separate dish and didn't eat it. The waiter clearly saw me doing that because there was only one other person eating alone in the restaurant and the waiter was just watching us with his hands behind his back. He never came over to ask why I put the chicken aside and am not eating it even though I asked for it. He clearly knew I didn't like it but kept it quite. I left hungry and had a $60 bill!
We have known the Marino family and their restaurant for many many years.....each time we visit the restaurant it exceeds our expectations.......
I brought my 16 year old for a ‘fancy’ dinner after the theatre. It was perfect. Cozy, warm with incredible service. The food was delicious. Made for a very special night.
Wonderful experience, the Seven Fishes Feast for Xmas should not be missed
Chef Sal Marino is a real genius! The restaurant is wonderful and perfect for special occasions.
What a fantastic meal! Mario made us feel like old friends and again, the food was absolutely fantastic! Can't wait to go again.
An upper West side neighborhood vibe. NIce atmosphere. Full bar although not a destination for only drinks. We were there for almost 2.5 hours with great service and no feeling of being rushed even though the place was packed. Wife and I were there for the first time and really enjoyed our evening. Great food. Fantastic service as stated. We'll be back.
The food at Marino was outstanding. We went for dinner before a show at the Pantages and it was also our 20th Annniversary. Despite putting the information about our anniversary in our reservation on Open Table the owner and staff did not acknowledge this. That was definitely disappointing, but the staff was attentive and we were extremely pleased with our appetizers and main dishes.
My favorite restaurant in LA. Hands down.
Always great food and Sal’s surprise touches.
Mario alone makes the visit worth it, but it doesn’t hurt that the food, service, and atmosphere are all superb.
AMAZING!!! As always, Marino’s restaurant serving outstanding cuisine paired with a family welcome.
Amazing as always. Excellent front of the house staff and the kitchen produces lovely dishes. One feels so welcome at this lovely establishment.
Lovely meal in a cozy restaurant.
