In the kitchen is Mario’s brother Sal, the chef who is out daily in the early morning markets personally selecting the ingredients for the seasonally changing menu and seeking out the most interesting and pristine items.
Placing yourselves in Mario’s hands for the tasting menus proves to be a wise decision. The Marino wine list has been repeatedly an award winner by Wine Spectator.

You won’t find the Cauliflower Mushroom Anywhere else, if they happen to have it on menu .
Hollywood’s hidden classic upscale treasure.
What an outstanding dinner!! From start to finish, every aspect of our evening was incredible. Service was totally attentive—from the moment we were seated to the server to the busser—just seamless. Chef Sal Marino sent out an “amuse bouche” of tuna tartare with caviar and it was incredibly fresh and delicious. Caesar salad was the best; caprese was so tasty—the fresh mozzarella and those tomatoes were the best we’ve had; and then the stuffed zucchini blossoms were out of this world! For our entrees—mouth-watering lasagna “with seven layers of homemade sheets of spinach pasta,” a beautiful filet of branzino fish, and everyone’s favorite, gnocchi with truffles! Oh. My. Goodness!!! To end the evening, house-made desserts: Italian cheesecake, tiramisu and flourless chocolate cake—what I would say is a trifecta of perfection! Highly recommend this beautiful restaurant for a nice dinner or a special occasion. Call Mario Marino and he will take such good care if you!
Always excellent! Food is amazing, service is attentive and warm.
We have enjoyed meals at Marino's for many years, coming back for an elegant Italian meal in lovely surroundings. This past dinner was a disappointment because the restaurant was full and so noisy we could hardy have a conversation. My dinner companions and I left with ringing ears and a headache. I will not be coming back unless I am assured a booth away from the middle of the room.
Mario is the most gracious host! Great to see him again. We love Marino and will be going back soon!
I love Marino’s for every occasion! You just don’t get this quality of service anywhere anymore. Total class. And the food is excellent. In the top 10 in LA.
Had the most amazing cauliflower mushroom-a first and now a must!
A real neighborhood gem. Some of the best food in a city of great food but in an atmosphere that feels like being a guest in someone's home.
Marino's is AMAZING! The food is so flavorful and presented so beautifully. It is our favorite restaurant because of this and the service is always so great. You won't be disappointed.
Great contemporary Italian food. Super wine list with great Italian slections. Very friendly and Comfortable.
Marino is a terrific place for friends to share a meal over good food, wonderful and attentive service, in a relaxed atmosphere.
I took my wife there for her birthday. The food and service was excellent and it was a very quiet and intimate restaurant. I would have preferred more options at the bar beyond the wines, but the menu had a lot of choices including those for vegetarians. Great choice for an intimate evening with friends, family, and/or significant others.
Superb service and food. We were there for Tomato Menu on Wednesday. Turned out it was excellent. Original menu with superb variety of tomatoes. OMG..sooo good. Season is coming to an end..sad we didn't know about this sooner. The regular dining menu is also superb.
Great little Italian Restaraunt with a fantastic chef and very friendly and professional staff. I had the tasting menu and loved it. I highly recommend this place.
Luis is wonderful! He helped me make different delicious choices. ToniAnn is a delight! We look forward to seeing them again soon.
Food and environment are good, and the chef is friendly.
I love this excellent family run business. Great food and wine. Excellent service. Looking forward to many more meals there.
Most-excellent for any occasion. Really, you’ll never be anything other than completely comfortable, well -fed, and satisfied. Everyday dining to special occasions, it’s a wonderful place.
We had an amazing experience. Loved the food and the service was superb. I’m definitely coming back!
We went for Chef Sal's famous and incomparable TOMATO WEDNESDAY. Sal grows his own tomatoes in his backyard. Three kinds of Gazpacho, 2 crudos, 2 cooked seafood dishes, steak and pasta--- all tomato themed and based. INCREDIBLE. And... regular menu generally includes some of the same offerings or very similar ones.
You'll love Marino's from the moment you enter to a wonderfully warm welcome to when you get your car from the careful and courteous valet.
Great dinner all around. Service was among the best I’ve ever experienced. Food was sublime - try the truffle gnocchi or lobster pasta, you won’t regret it!
Marino's is a lovely, quiet, elegant restaurant with excellent food.
Service and food was just amazing !!!
One of my favorites in LA
We go as often as we can afford it. Just wonderful. Calamari terrific (both fried and grilled), branzino perfect.
Went to TOMATO WEDNESDAY at Marino's ( only held during the summer months) to enjoy Chef Sal's wonderful "Tomato" menu (all the types of tomatoes-20 varieties- come from Sal's own garden.
This is our second TW of the season and it was again outstanding and a great value as well. The restaurant was full of diners excitedly eating their meals. 3 different types of Gazpacho, several crudos as well as cooked fish starters/appetizers. Mains were also so delicious. We had the linguine and scallops.
The warm welcome when entering Marino's, the great food, the outstanding service and even the terrific service by the valet make going to Marino's for Tomato Wednesday or ANY other time a most wonderful evening.
Always the perfect meal and service!
Our favorite neighborhood gem!
Wonderful food. Beautiful setting. Great food . I highly recommend this restaurant
Had a group of eight for business lunch. Management was very accommodating and service, food and ambiance very all good.
Enjoying the beautifully crafted and presented food here is always a pleasure. Quiet surroundings and grown-up, sophisticated food that relies on excellent quality and unpretentious selections make this our go-to restaurant when we’re not feeling experimental.
It was so hot inside, the AC wasn’t wo well.
As always excellent ! Always something new to try /this week cauliflower mushroom ! Had never heard of it /was delicious . Able to easily carry on a conversation . Definitely a favorite restaurant.
Favorite place to dine when we hit the west coast.
Small cozy but wonderful people, yummy food and friendly service.
Old School Italian with an uncomfortable banquette to sit on.. seems like you could be transported to a neighborhood restaurant in New Jersey in the 70’s .. could be overlooked or even a plus if the food were outstanding which it is not.. over cooked Rapini.. and boring pasta dish with various mushrooms .. appetizers that were small .. a desert that came out of a box.. you would just need to eat spaghetti vongole here and hope it was good.. the restaurant is trying to be more complex with its offerings.. and it fails,.. meh..
I adore this restaurant. But more importantly, I enjoy the staff. Tonight, Mario and Danny made our evening absolutely decadent. Always welcoming, knowledgeable of the menu and wine pairings, and jovial with a sense of family-esque authenticity. I will always be back and cannot heap enough praise on Marino. You guys know how to do fine dining with pure class and charm.
Went here as a group of 6. We had reservations and showed up on time and still had to wait 10 minutes to get seated even though the restaurant was quite empty.
Marino is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is exceptional featuring genuine Italian dishes seasoned to perfection. The service is simply professional. Waiters actually care about what you are eating and drinking. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. The ambience is homey and comfortable. Mario, the owner, is always there which is a sign that he cares about the customer and the food he is feeding them. Simply great.
