Marina Cafe Ratings and Reviews
Overall it was good. Pricey, but in a tourist driven area I expect that. Service was disappointing. The waiter explained they were all tired from Thanksgiving??? So I guess we got lousy service. I waited forever after ordering a glass of wine. We were impressed by the quality of the seafood and creativity of the menu. Very disappointed with dessert. My husband ordered a piece of pie after seeing what it looked like from another diner, well his arrived smooshed and crushed and the waiter states; well its not supposed to look like that oh well...I can get you another if you really care. I would recommend but not sure we would go back again, there are a lot of restaurants to choose from in the area so we will likely try another.
We felt that all four of us ordered meals that were just trying too hard. Though the combinations of flavors described sounded good, they just fell short with some flavors and textures overwhelming each dish. The calamari appetizer was good and the service was good.
We were at the Marina Cafe over 27 year’s ago. While the menu has changed (no more seafood bisque!), it was familiar enough. While it may have gone through some growing pains over time, I’m glad to o report that Marina Cafe was a highlight of our trip. We both opted for fish, her:cobia. Both were excellent. Salads were fresh and vibrant. The atmosphere was a little more casual and less dressy than remembered. We were glad we went and will b back. Service was impeccable as I remembered.
I have been dining at Marina Cafe for 20 years, and always look forward to the culinary experience. Our fish (grouper) was excellent as usual, but the vegetables that came with left a lot to be desired. There has been a change in where you can order the fresh fish and and seasonal vegetable, so I tired that. Our waiter said it was a squash and zuchini medley, but we were served was a medley thtb included 75% overcooked and unappetizing looking broccoli. Next time I will order the redfish.
