Marigold Kitchen in Philadelphia is a unique multi-course meal experience served in the dining area of a traditional Victorian home. Guests will be surprised by each new course, all of which are meant to evoke comforting memories of home or to whisk them off on a culinary journey.
The menu at Marigold Kitchen is always evolving and comprises 10-14 courses using seasonally relevant ingredients. There is a single seating and guests are encouraged to make themselves at home as the menu unfolds.
The house is nice but we were in a room upstairs that had no ambience. The food was average. Nothing tasted bad but nothing was memorable either. It lacked creativity and depth for sure. In this style of dining, the dishes were boring, things that you ate 4-5 years ago at other places. Way too expensive for what it was.
Unique dining experience in a quaint converted corner house. They are extremely accommodating to my girlfriend's dietary restrictions and the staff is very friendly. Each ingredient shines through and serves a purpose. Also delicious French press, and I don't even drink coffee. Best Valentine's dinner yet.
It was pricey, but we had an excellent meal with excellent service in a homey establishment.
A++. I have been looking forward to dining at Marigold for a long time. Finally, I made it! We were gifted with a gift certificate for our anniversary. Our expectations were exceeded! The food and everything else was incredible! I wish I could afford to go on a regular basis! Thanks for the delightful meal, Marigold, keep up the good work!
The location was great. We enjoyed the fact that we did not have to go into Center City to enjoy a great experience at a restaurant. The service was excellent. We had the tasting menu which we enjoyed. The ambiance was perfect and the overall setting was comfortable. Would definitely like to go back and would recommend Marigold Kitchen to friends and family.
What a wonderful experience! A 10 course meal. The same for everyone. Cuts out the anxiety of ordering from a menu. Every course was an adventure, a great source of conversation, and tasty!
Food was very good and presented well. No choices so be sure to advise of any food intolerances or dislikes.
Good service and warm ambience
Marigold Kitchen is truly Philadelphia’s culinary gem. From the delicious, creative tasting menu to the charming, cozy Victorian house ambiance to the most attentive staff - no detail is overlooked. Each beautifully presented course is a combination of exciting and well chosen flavours. Dietary restrictions (e.g., gluten free) are accommodated with attention to taste and ingenuity. It is exciting to dine at a restaurant where eating is an exciting adventure prepared by a Chef with an obvious love for the art of food preparation.
We celebrated a 30th birthday on a Wednesday evening! There was only one other couple present for a 8pm dinner. The atmosphere was wonderful and romantic, the food was delicious...we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and definitely recommend for dining.
I'll be as objective as possible, so my review will be taken seriously by people looking to dine here. I must say this was one of the best dining experiences of my life. I came in a little more than a month ago to celebrate a new job. I work in the industry and wanted an intimate meal by myself. Marigold Kitchen exceeded all expectations. The service was seamless, professional, and so warm. The dishes were all so thoughtful. Each one stands out in my mind a month and a half later. The crudite is so simple, yet it's the most vegetably vegetable you've ever tasted. I could rave about every dish. If you're thinking about going, please go. I was blown away. I can understand if it isn't everyone's thing, but if you go willing to let the chefs and the restaurant "speak to you" you won't be disappointed. I'm already planning to bring some friends next time
A highlight! A real culinary feast! My only suggestion would be that there be a host...it felt a little as if you were invited into a someone's home but they had gone out. The waitrons were all very professional and charming but I missed having a face to put to Marigold's. This may be by choice but I missed a personality to match the food.
Marigold is a winner in every way. The added bonus is byob!
Great food, excellent service, ambience could use some help. too subdued, better background music, better wall-art. ton of potential
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Food was amazing, presentation was beautiful, service was excellent.
Only negative was how quickly the courses came out! I almost wish there had been more time to savor each part of the meal.
