Amazing restaurant! Food was perfection and service on point!
For those that have an allergy (gluten free) make sure you specify that before going here. I asked for Chopin (potato distilled) vodka, they said they would check. They never checked and automatically substituted with Grey Goose (not GF). Had we not seen this, I would have unknowingly drank my beverage and gotten sick and had an allergic reaction. They said they had Tito’s, which was fine, but In the end, they charged me for Chopin, a more expensive premium vodka. Now on the dinner, two of the four were served their entrees and waiting for the remaining meals to be served, the dinners were cold. We even had to pour ourselves water after asking for it several times. As someone who lives here full time and likes to support the local business, I am disappointed and embarrassed. As a whole, the shore community strives for excellent service and expertise. No matter what job you have, you should be trained accordingly and take pride in your work.
We made our reservation on Open Table and drove to the restaurant only to find it dark. It was closed for the season. No one had updated their status on Open Table.
Food and service was excellent. The table we were seated at was terrible. Very cold in this area. They had heaters on the floor, which did not help. We were not seated in the main dining area. We were surrounded by a lot of kids, diaper bags and high chairs. I do not believe that we would be going back.
This was our first time dining here and we were very satisfied with our food and service. The ambiance is very nice and we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience.
Save your money! There can be no excuse for inedible food. There can be no excuse for sending to table mussels of which half failed to open in two separate dishes, perhaps the French fries floating atop we're meant to hide that fact. There can be no excuse for serving a $42 filet mignon well past it's prime and pork so tough a dinosaur would have difficulty chewing. Salmon with a slight nose, but still edible. It's shameful when a restaurant counts on folks not wanting to "make a scene' to dump their waste on the table and expect people to pay for it. Needless to say, once was too much.
Service was great! Food was good, not great. We started at the bar - real friendly cozy atmosphere and from what I saw a great bar menu. Next time will probably stay at the bar and eat.
Arrived early and received great service at the bar from Ann! The dining room is lovely and the service was very good. While the veal parmesan was one of the best ever, the pasta "gravy" left a lot to be desired. I would, however, come back as overall the meal was very good.
We really enjoyed our dinner at Marie Nicole's. The fish special was amazing, however the veal parm was dry and chewy. The server was excellent, but the wait for our meal was way too long. We would return again and hope that a few things are improved. Wonderful bar, drinks and bartenders!
We went for dinner as a family of 6. Everyone enhanced their meal. The food was excellent, service attentive and the ambiance was relaxing. Now keeping in mind this is of season. We hope to go again the next time we are at the shore. Hope the in - season experience is just as awesome.
Good, but could be better.
Food and service were good. However, though my fusilli dish was tasty, the pasta, which was disguised as such, were long and tubular--not what I know fusilli to be. This "new" fusilli, was heavier pasta than I expected and made a very good meal, heavier than it needed to be.
Also, for a restaurant which does pride itself on its wine list, to not list wines by the glass on its wine list is a serious omission.
Expensive for food that was not outstanding. Veal dish had too much breading, was $42 and meals don't even include a salad. A Caesar salad was $12 and a glass of house wine was $12. Our waiter was attentive and amicable but that doesn't make up for the food pricing. We don't mind an expensive meal when it is really good
EVERY THING ABOUT OUR EXPERIENCE WAS VERY POSITIVE.
We visited Marie Nicole's for the first time this past Sunday night. The restaurant specializes in martinis and we tried the peachy peach. It was very tasty for summer. The food was delicious. Nice variety of choices- seafood, pork, lamb and pasta. The restaurant is a little pricey and sedate so children would not be a good plan.
Was pleasantly surprised by the food since this restaurant replaced one of my favorites in Avalon. Was hoping they would keep the white cranberry cosmos. Oh,well. Some reviews complained about the prices and the waiter did include the price in their descriptions of the specials. However, this is the shore, people, and there was a fixed prix meal on the menu. Will definitely plan on another visit before they close for the season.
wrote detailed review on yelp. was hoping for a nice meal but kitchen didn't cook filet as ordered; incorrect dish was brought for my husband. drink prices were high and cost of bill was very high for the meal with no mention of apology for dinner mishap. would expect more for this price tag!
We all thought the salad was wilted and overdressed and we mentioned it to the waiter and nobody cared
Since we were staying at the Desert Sand motel it was very convenient our first time at Mrie Nicole's Will definitely come back. Great food
The servers were great and attentive. Their competence could not, however, make up for the food. We were there early and ordered the halibut special. The server returned and said it was not available but they had snapper. The food was over salted, and I like salt.
They have just moved to a new location. Maybe by next better. The cost was just too high for the
lack of quality of the food.
Wonderful time. The hostess was below par. We found her unfriendly. All of the food was delicious with the exception of my father's lamb-undercooked.
Had such a poor dining experience that we will not be returning.
Slices of peaches served with a Mozzarella appetizer were as hard as an unripened apple!
(And keep in mind, this is during the height of peach season in the garden state of NJ!)
When we asked for ripe peach slow slices,
the waiter returned and said, "I'm sorry.
We don't have any ripe peaches."
So why is this item on the menu?!?
The filet was supposed to be prepared medium but it was served rare!
My wife's lamb was gamey and undercooked.
The summer salad was supposed to have summer corn, but it had very little in it.
And my wife's martini was watered down and made incorrectly.
Not going back again. Better food at McDonalds!
Glad they moved to from Wildwood Crest! It's a go to place in Avalon.
The food was decent but it is located in an old hotel dining space and it felt like it, no outdoor seating in fact all the curtains were closed when we arrived, it felt claustrophobic though it was a large space.
Seated for reservation promptly. Our server, Dawn, was attentive and friendly and provided truly outstanding service. The calamari and peach salad appetizer special were outstanding. Crab cake, pasta bolognese, and filet all nice size portions and perfectly prepared. Excellent meal and service.
Another 'just ok' restaurant in Avalon. Very limited menu, adequate service, not a special meal. The one exception was the steak special. Seasoned perfectly and cooked to order. I hope they reconsider their approach over the winter and people give them a second chance next season.
Our first time here - excellent meal. We'll be back!
Some people will say a restaurant is expensive when they don't actually qualify what they really mean. I will say Marie Nicole's Grill IS expensive simply because the food is average but the price was high.
I had a similar meal the night before that was excellent BUT spent much less, therefore, Marie Nicole's Grill IS expensive.
I had Grouper (the restaurant called it something else) with sea scallops and something that looked like tiny corn over a salad. My wife had a lobster and a cherry Tomato Mozzarella Salad. I expected the food to be as high end as the price but I was disappointed.
Big portions, overpriced basic food and a bit dated decor. Restaurant would benefit from an ambiance make-over.
The meal was great the service wonderful and efficient. The ambienence needs a lot of help but it is their first year at this location so I expect it will be dressed up soon.
Bar very nice, staff very attentive. Food was good but for the price it should have been awesome.
First time at the new Avalon location and found it to be very dark. Couldn't even read the menu. Our waitress, Marie was on her first night there and she was fantastic. So that made up from somethings but the kitchen was a little slow and it wasn't very crowded. Food was good but not great and the cioppino was good it could have been great if the clams were open and if the other shell fish was out of the shells. Too hot to pick up to remove.
Good could have been great but if Marie wasn't there it would have been a bummer
Welcome Marie Nicole's to Avalon! The menu was a great mixture of seafood and meat choices. The meals we selected were delicious and prepared perfectly. Service was outstanding.
Waiter was terrible and so was our food. Not worth the price. We unfortunately won't be back.
Very Good great food drinks good service 👍🍸🕺
Our waiter was outstanding
Overpriced and small portions. A disgrace for prices charged. They won't last long in Avalon/Stone Harbor, crowd is too discriminating
Very good food and service but dated and stodgy environment. Would benefit from upgraded window treatments and furniture. Pricey for the ambience created. I will try the bar next year to see if any upgrades were made. Lighting was poor and the wines by the glass list was too limited and not sufficient quality to match the food.
Had the lamb. Was good, but a bit too fatty. Also had Ahi Tuna appetizer, which was very good (not great). Service was excellent.
I have been to Marie Nicole's in Wildwood numerous times. I found the food to be better there (perhaps Avalon is still on a learning curve).
Overall, it was a very enjoyable evening, and I would go back. I'm glad we have another nice dining choice in Avalon.
Dawn was our server and she was wonderful
I had an amazing piece of salmon...one of the best pieces I had in a long time
took family for dinner it was good we went not knowing they run a special up to 6pm worth the money the food was good. We could not find a negative....
