Wonderful restaurant. The pozole rojo soup is fantastic (weekends only). Warm, efficient service
Service was on the slow side, despite the fact that only a few tables were filled--usually service is great. The menu options are excellent, and the chips are outstanding.
I had reserved a table ("booth please"), and they gave us a noisy 1/2 table/ 1/2 booth-type seating. It was very (very noisy). We requested a different table (all booth), because my friend was a bit hard of hearing, and the service after that seemed a bit on the "cold" side. Our waitress served us, but the service was aloof, and she left us sitting for quite awhile before taking our order. The food was very good, as is often the case: I love their salmon tacos, as well as their chicken fajitas. As for next time, I'll just make sure I call and be more specific, (in person), about needing a "real" booth.
Great food and service as usual, very friendly staff!
Delicious chips! Attentive service. Good place to be able to talk with friends.
We had a large party and the service was great, very attentive and friendly. The food was excellent! Love this place!
This is my current favourite Mexican restaurant. Good food and friendly atmoatmosphere.
Birthday but nothing special was offered
We love Maria's. Someone needs to tell the female bartender to be friendlier and more attentive. Someone else besides us must have noticed this. We still give her a 20% tip but shouldn't. Everything else is wonderful.
The food is good, but not fantastic. The salsa is a bit to sweet for my taste, could have used a little kick. The guac. was really good and the bar drinks are great. I would probably recommend drinks and apps. more than drinks and dinner. It's a nice little spot, very cute inside. The waitress on this day wasn't very attentive, even though the restaurant was not full, but I'm sure this is hit or miss and she still got a $20 tip from us, cause we are nice. The one thing that really stood out as, for lack of a better word, cheesy was that they charged us 50cents for two wedges of lime for our taco plate, not very classy given our bill was $100 for lunch. Management....throw in the limes!
The homemade chirros are fabulous. Great margaritas too.
I hate to write the great review this restaurant deserves because I don’t want them to become overly crowded. I've been here 3 times, and each time had a very nice meal. My favorite so far was the chicken tacos - very tasty. The chips and salsa are unusually good, and the margaritas delicious. The food always seems to be made with fresh, high quality ingredients, and the chef achieves fine Mexican results. Some of the dishes are more Californian with some Mexican influence – like the steelhead salmon I had the last time I was there, flavored with cilantro. The atmosphere is enjoyably casual, and the wait-staff is competent and attentive.
Fun, good food, relaxing, and great to share with friends.
Everything was delicious and service was friendly and efficient!
This visit to Maria's Cantina was good overall, although the pork carnitas weren't quite up to the standard of our last visit In April. The Margaritas also lacked flavor. But the chips, salsa, and guacamole were terrific. The chips were thin, crisp, and warm, and the salsa was some of the best we've ever had.
Best nachos I've ever had and I've had them in more than 100 different places in the last 30 years.
We have been at Maria's many many times. Never disappointed. The food and service is
excellent, we can highly recommend Maria's Cantina.
Took some out of town guests and they raved for two days about how much they enjoyed the meal and the restaurant.
Love this tasteful restaurant, great food and ambiance.
The restaurant was loud and it was hard to hear. The food was good but the amount was slight. The bill was high given we had no alcohol or appetizers - just entrees (Over $100)
What a great restaurant! Really have enjoyed both times here, and will most certainly be taking friends and family back. Thank you!
It is a good place to eat sometimes; I like it, but the menu should be more varied.
We love Maria's! Great cocktails, fun salsas with chips and excellent entrees. Our group ate everything from a healthy salmon salad to the carnitas. Excellent. We are regulars 😄
We went here to celebrate a birthday and had a wonderful experience. We ordered the salmon tacos and was pleasantly surprised by how great they were. The chips and salsa were never ending and the service was awesome. I also had the Pomegranate Margarita and before we knew it 2 hours had gone by. I will definitely be back!!!
We like this place for an everyday dinner!! The service is excellent and the food is very good!!
This was our second visit here. Brought some friends who agree that Maria's is fun, friendly, a great value, and among the best mexican fare around. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable, and our bill was surprisingly small for such complete meals. The margaritas are also delicious.
Love the frilled Caesar!!
Fresh, local and always good. Escape from the kitchen and enjoy some local Mexican flare. Don't forget to try the local brews on tap.
We usually go to Maria's to celebrate birthdays. The service was outstanding. We were greeted warmly, and the waitstaff was very attentive. The food was excellent. We were disappointed in the original guacamole. It was too bland. The horchata drinks were also a disappointment. They tasted watered down. The entrees were all very good, and everyone agreed that we will keep the tradition to celebrant birthdays at Maria's.
The food was terrific, the margaritas fabublous, the churros yummy, and ours server exceptionally good. All that made for a fine birthday celebration.
Server Rod was exceptional: attentive at the right times and very tuned into our needs. Evening was perfect for sitting outside, with exception of the periodic train noise which only a few times interrupted our conversation. Good food, reasonable prices.
The three of us sat on the side patio. We ordered the $10.00 marguerita on our server Sam's advice, and it was excellent. All of us had a salad for lunch and both the salmon and the chicken were generous and delicious. We will definitely take the drive to this restaurant again in the future.
We booked a dinner reservation based on Best of Yolo County ratings. We were not disappointed. The entrées were flavorful and the presentation of the food was inviting. I ordered chicken fajitas and my husband ordered the carnitas burrito. While we were waiting for our meals, we enjoyed the salsa and tortilla chips. The salsa was delicious--and the chips were light and crisp. The server was very attentive. We will definitely dine here again.
This is our second visit to Maria's and again, everything met our expectations. Margaritas are good, service consistent and friendly, food served hot. We will continue to return when we are in Woodland.
Great in all regards. Our favorite restaurant in Woodland. Very consistent in food and service. A cut above ordinary Mexican restaurants with very well conceived menu items. An added plus for us is that we can take our large dog with us to eat on the patio.
Never disappoints... service - friendly and prompt, food - fresh & delicious, ambiance - relaxing & pleasing to the eye.
Our food was excellent but the service was very slow.
This wasn't our first visit to Maria's (or second, or third...) but it WAS the first time we had the pomegranate margarita. Now there's another good reason to go. Taco Tuesday is still the number one draw!
Good decor, good food. Will work for vegans, carnivores and in between. Good for guests.
Really nice neighborhood restaurant in Woodland. Fabulous food, loved the 3 kinds of guacamole. Steak Ranchera was great. Just a very nice dinner with great food and service.
