Private Party Facilities:
The Bordeaux Room can accommodate up to 65 people for a sit-down dinner, and up to 85 people for a cocktail party or buffet. The Bordeaux Room is a completely self contained private dining room with its own kitchen, lavatory, dining room & bar. A 25 person minimum number of people is required to reserve the room for a private function. A $500 Non Refundable deposit is required when reserving the room. In the month of December a $1000 deposit is required. This deposit is applied to your final bill the evening of your function. With groups of 25 or more, a Three Course Prix Fixe Menu is designed for you taking full advantage of the seasonality of our ever changing menu. Prices generally begin at $49 per person for the prix fixe menu.
The Rotisserie Room can accommodate 12-18 people for a wonderful night of food and fun in a semi-private dining experience. A $250 Non Refundable deposit is required to reserve the Rotisserie Room.

Excellent food with one exception: 1 friend ordered the calves liver well done, and even after sending it back once, it was still done medium. Triggerfish was super, as were raw oysters and crab cakes. Even though the restaurant was busy, the noise level was quiet! Good attention to sound proofing - most other area restaurants should take a lesson from Margaux's!
Margaux's never disappoints. We were greeted by our waiter right away and he was very knowledgeable on the menu and wine list. Service was wonderful, the food was excellent. Margaux's has an ever changing menu which makes it a great place to find unique and delicious food.
we were very disappointed. Food was good as always but the service was horrible. For the money that we spent we expect to get decent service. Drinks weren't refilled etc, we had to ask twice to get another beer. My tea wasn't refilled as expected and the wait staff in general was horrible. We like to come here on special occassions as this was our anniversary dinner. We will not be back for a long time, hopefully management will teach the wait staff how to take care of their paying customers. Once this happens we will be back and the waiter/waitress will be tipped appropriately.
Food and wine were good and there were some unusual items. I had triggerfish, which you don't see on many menus. Dessert was triple chocolate bread pudding with pumpkin ice cream. Delicious. We were early by 15 minutes, and bar service while we waited for our table to be ready was friendly but could have been quicker. We barely had started our glasses of wine by the time we had to close the bar tab and move. Restaurant was quite noisy: conversation in the dining area was difficult until the restaurant emptied out quite a bit. Whimsical decorations for Halloween were fun.
Margeaux's has been staple in Raleigh for years and never disappoints. We went early with our family eating off the price fixe menu. All the appetizers and main courses were exceptional. All the meals ended in a exquisite dessert. Steve & his team truly are fabulous hosts and food is 2nd to none . We would highly recommend Margeaux's for every day dining, special occasions and business related meals with their private room very cozy with all amenities for group events
This is usually a good place to go for a special meal. Not so this time. The computers were down and this slowed service. What was to be a nice dinner became an exercise in waiting for food that disappointed after being under the salamander before brought to the table. Have been coming here for many years but Friday night was a miss.
I would give this restaurant 10 stars if I could! We had a large party (10 people), and they were extremely accommodating. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted in a very warm and welcoming fashion. I waited at the bar for everyone to arrive and the host gave excellent recommendations from the dinner menu. Our server (Hunter, I think) was so enthusiastic and just a joy to have at our table. Will definitely be back!!!
This was my first time at this restaurant. I have to say I was disappointed. The only dish I would go back for is the French onion soup. The waiter recommended the grouper. It was ok but not memorable. My husband got the venison. The flavor was ok but I thought the venison filet was a little tough. The waiter had said it wasn't gamey and was tender. I didn't taste any gaminess, but it wasn't as tender as I expected. My friend ordered the scallops and her portion was SMALL. At least half the size as all the other entrees. My friend's husband got the tuna. I tasted it and thought it was ok taste-wise. They did cook it very well. The prices are on the high side. Nothing was bad, but I just don't feel like any of the entrees blew me away. I don't plan to return.
We enjoyed a delicious meal. Our server Stephanie was excellent. We started with the Captain Stubbing appetizer and a crab cake appetizer. For entrees we had the daily special duck dish. It was amazing. We also had an incredible beef dish. The profiteroles and creme brûlée were also fabulous. The decor is very eclectic and we loved our cozy spot in a romantic corner. Next time we'd like to try the patio. We will definitely be back.
I usually love eating at Margaux but I will say that the service there on a slow Friday afternoon was not impressive. Also, we were in a rush to leave when I discovered an overcharge on my bill and I just paid it because I needed to leave. The food was wonderful as always.
The menus is always creative and includes a great mix of flavors. Wait staff are attentive and courteous, plus they do not rush you through a meal. One of the key characteristics I look for in a good restaurant is that the meal is relaxed; Margaux's does a great job timing your courses while still serving your meal hot and fresh. The atmosphere is very energetic inside, so not the place for quiet conversation. Outside, however, the seating is comfortable and very suitable for a quieter dining experience.
The service was absolutely excellent, personable and easy going. Food was good and interesting. My dish (Triggerfish) was a little spicyier than I anticipated but wife's scollops were excellent. The wine menu was particularly heavy on reds vs whites. I found that interesting as I think of seafood at this restaurant. The prices were reasonable but if I could change anything, I would add several more French whites to the menu. Will go back!
Enjoyed the PreFix menu option. The food was very good but very small portions. A dinner Entrée of 3 small sea scallops was pretty skimpy. The cafe strip was dry, not overcooked so guess poor quality of meat. Overall the meal was good but not excellent for the price.
