Great food and atmosphere! A local gem. Love the changing daily menu and cocktails are amazing!
Waitress was very good. Peking duck was more like orange duck.
This was our first time there and definitely not the last. Great food selection. It was a group outing and everyone enjoyed their food. There are some selections that you will not find anywhere else. The portions were more than enough and they all had great flavor. There was a good selection of wines by the bottle as well as by the glass. The server was very attentive and provided good recommendations. I would definitely recommend this restaurant
Excellent food and service. Outstanding quality, and just the right quantity for each course of our meal.
The food and service are always excellent!
The food was very good. A little on the pricey side, but overall a nice place.
Great place. Our Server Heather was the best! She helped me surprise my wife with here 25th anniversary gift and she was wonderful.
This was my first time dining here. Overall I had an okay time, but there were things that I could not overlook. First, the table that we were seat at was uncomfortable and felt like the overflow/ walk-in section of the restaurant. I ordered the crab cakes as my appetizer and was clear about a corn allergy I have and asked for the succotash to be on the side. My plate was presented to me without my request being upheld, and instead of pushing my app as a re-fire they just put it on another plate. This carelessness is one of the main reasons I will not be returning. My server was pleasant and very knowledgeable about the menu, I believe her name was Heather, she did a great job.
Margaux's is a Raleigh classic with a varied menu, excellent service, and cool atmosphere. The ingredients were fresh and locally sourced. Overall, this is a great choice for dinner with friends or family in a very pleasant and relaxing setting. Entrees are unique with the chef's touches, definitely not the same old thing. Will be back.
We always have a great experience at this restaurant. That’s why we always come back.
Fantastic service and wonderful meal! Andy, Steve and Zach took excellent care of our party.
Excellent food and service. We have been going there for 26 years!
First time at Margaux's and the food was delicious! The calamari was to die for and the wasabe-crusted grouper was outstanding! We are definitely going to revisit!
enjoyed the evening out and nice to see the full house again. Food was excellent. Rebecca did a great job.
Wonderful graduation dinner for our son. Zach was engaging and attentive and particularly patient with our elderly mothers. We always love Margeaux’s and sharing it with out of town guests was extra special!!
We had heard that was a great place, and the decor was interesting and eclectic, the service staff friendly and efficient, but the food was truly terrible. The onion soup had way too much oregano in it, my wifes scallops were clear beyond the "best by" date, my steak not that great. We definately won't go back.
to be fair, we did get one of the last reservations of the night and subsequently had to rush through our order. The atmosphere is great, it adds to the experience. I'm looking forward to coming back and diving into all of the unique chef selections that change. We did the 3 course bundle, because we thought there was a special restaurant week allowance of the lower rate (pre 6:30pm) which would have probably helped for the experience to feel more valuable. The food was pretty good. I had the salmon/greenbean/mashed potato. The cut & prep on the fish was beautiful. It was fresh. the meal lacked personality/flavor but the ingredients, themselves, made that irrelevant enough to still be enjoyable. The desserts were a highlight, we ordered 4! We were very disappointed in the selection of bread pudding (all of our favorite dessert) it was definitely an old selection that tasted microwaved, we weren't really able to chew/enjoy it. That felt disappointing, to be honest. We (partner, aunt, myself) all definitely agreed to come back to give another try to the more unique items on the menu and chat with the chef about that dessert experience 😉
The food and service were very good. They offer a fixed price menu, 3 courses, everyday for $27 which inspired us.
Absolutely amazing as always!
Waiter was great.
Got a bit noisy with a large party.
The staff are very friendly, attentive, and efficient! The food was delicious, though the hoisin sauce on my scallops was a bit salty for my taste. Margaux's is a good venue for delicious food in a fun and unobtrusive environment. We never felt rushed or bothered at all.
The food was excellent. Unfortunately the service was not. Our server forgot about us from time-to-time. I had to ask her to "please bring me my wine". It took forever to get the check. I know research shows people eat more in loud environments but it was off the hook loud last night at Margaux's. And who, in North Carolina, doesn't serve sweet tea? I like the food but there is more to dining out with friends than just the quality of food.
The blonde brownie was the bomb!!! The quality of the food was superb!
Food was awesome and despite being understaffed our waiter Eric did a great job
Food was excellent as always! Staff is helpful and friendly. They all pitch in and help each other which keeps the service excellent!
Our server Samuel was excellent, very attentive and professional.
Second time I’ve been to Margaux’s. I enjoyed the previous steak (3 weeks ago) more. It was a different cut and sauce. But I enjoyed the meal and the server Sammy couldn’t have been better!
Everything was excellent - the food, the service and the ambiance. Went for an anniversary dinner and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend the lamb chops.
The food and service at Margaux’s was fantastic. We made the mistake of eating outside and the temperature dropped (a lot) while we were there. Still, our server Heather was attentive and fun. She took great care of us on our anniversary. From the wine to our appetizer (crab cakes...yum) and entrees(he got the salmon, I got mahi...perfection), the food was exceptional and the evening was memorable. We will be back.
Our favorite restaurant!! The menu is ever changing, the staff is amazing and the art and ambiance are perfect for a quiet evening for 2 or a family meal!
This was our first visit. We sat outside on the beautiful patio. The inside was beautiful too. Very nice ambiance and sophisticated. The wait staff were all amazing and extremely attentive.
My food was delicious!
The only thing that could have been different: there was a gentleman on the patio playing the saxophone which was wonderful- however, it was weird and a little off putting that he was playing to music with the original performer singing. So he was playing the sax to a song with instrumentals and singing. Had it just been the melody without the singing, it would have been fine - but the two didn’t sound great together!
Overall, very good experience!
We’ve been going here for 28+ years and have never had a disappointing meal. Always excellent food, wine and service. Our first post pandemic evening out and it was a terrific venue for it.
We've been going to Margaux's since 1999 when we discovered this wonderful adventure. Over the years, we've enjoyed the menu and the specials. They have a wonderful owner, a great chef that has been there for 16 years, and an attentive wait staff.
We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary on May 25 ... and enjoyed a wonderful time at our old hangout!
Really not the fine dining it describes itself as. Got hit with a 60 dollar bill for mediocre food and service without masks. It wasn't terrible bit certainly not worth it's price point.
We loved this place. Outdoor dining was terrific, and food/service was superb.
Was slightly pricy, but a good value for the quality of the food and the portions.
From the service to the food we had a terrific experience.
Always an excellent time with great food and fantastic service!!!
We We’re seated promptly . We asked to sit outside ,it was an evening dinner. We saw lots of couples around us having dinner as we were halfway through our dinner when they sat a table of six people real close to us and they came in with five dogs barking and swarming around the tables as they were being seated. I didn’t expect to be sharing my evening on date night at a respectable restaurant especially with the prices they charge with dogs around me. I could see if it was lunchtime and because it’s outdoor seating but on a Saturday night? That threw me off a little. And I am a dog lover! But when I go to dinner like that at a fine dining restaurant on date night I really didn’t expect to have dinner with dogs around me. Other than that the food was excellent and Anna Marie our server was superb!
This is an outstanding neighborhood restaurant where quality and service are unsurpassed. From our first visit in 2002, we have found the food to be delicious and creative. We moved 200 miles away from the area nine years ago but continue to come home to Margaux's as often as we can.
This is a very.nice place and great for dining and talking . Service is excellent.
I have dined here in the past and would like to see more vegan options on the menu as a regular fare rather than the exception.
Vegans hate always having to “ask for something special “ . I wish the management would embrace this idea with greater enthusiasm rather than viewing plant base items ( and those paying diners) as a problem .
