Margaux Ratings and Reviews
We went for Seattle's Restaurant week tonight and we were pretty disappointed with Margaux. The prix fixe menu at $33 is fine but the caesar salad was mediocre and the salmon was terribly salty and just not very good. The creme brûlée was excellent. The waiter, Brandy, was lovely but overworked so we had to wait for water refills. Our biggest complaint was that they add a 3.8% service charge to the menu for no obvious reason. It does not go to the servers. So they just raised their prices. We won't be back.
We made a Saturday dinner reservation for 7:00 PM following the Symphony season opening night. It was clear at intermission the show was going to run longer than expected. With a call to Margaux, I was able to change our reservation to 7:30.
Our meal was outstanding and service was very attentive by our server Brandy. Can't wait to return.
We came in with an hour and a half to spend for breakfast. The dining room wasn't very busy, there were tables available, and we were told by the hostess that we would have to wait 15-20 minutes to be seated, even though we had reservations. After we were seated, we ordered our meal, after we waited an additional 10 minutes. After 45 minutes and all others that came in after us ate and left I had to go find our waitress to tell her again what we ordered. We ran out of time and we finally got our food. The hostess very coarselly told us that our meal was free and we inhaled our food, that was very good, and ran to meet our driver. The food was good, the service was terrible.
We've always enjoyed Margaux; and we still love it for meeting friends. They have great cocktails and it is quiet so you can really talk and you are never rushed. However, the prices have really escalated in the last year and it is almost out of reach for a simple night out or meal before a movie at Cinerama across the street. And, it's not quite a special occasion restaurant. I'm sure we'll keep going back...but not as often as we used too.
The service is never great at this place. But they also always appear to be understaffed, even for a small number of customers. I waited to be seated. Nobody ever came to seat me. So I seated myself at the bar instead. The bartender was busy waiting tables.
Went for New Year's eve, and overall it was a great experience! Had the mushroom risotto to start off with- excellent flavor. Portobello as a main course, cooked to perfection. A friend had the pork that was slightly dry, but the flavor was excellent. Healthy portions. The staff seemed a little frenzied- granted it was New Years Eve. Bread cutting station was odd- staff has to slice each piece of bread that each table starts with. Overall a great experience!
We have enjoyed Brassiere Margaux for many, many years. The food has always been delicious. The staff are friendly, provide great service and they are accommodating for special requests. We had seafood and fish dishes and they were fresh and excellent. The accompaniments were wonderful, too. Fresh english peas, morrels and other forest mushrooms, asparagus and escarole, plus delicious warm bread and butter to start our meals. Their menu was perhaps traditional, but that is what we enjoy about it. They provide fresh, seasonal items - no tails nor tongues at exorbitant prices like many newer restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinners and will definitely go back.
Dined at the Margaux during our Hotel stay. It was certainly a notch above the usual hotel in house dining places. We had just opted for a main course as we were not too Hungary.
We ordered the ribeye steak and it was cooked to perfection. Definitely recommend this restaurant
I always try a new spot during restaurant week. For a hotel restaurant I was expecting a lot but the food was just not good. I had mussels, which had a varying degree of freshness. Some were just gross. My friend got the philly cheese steak. It was one of the blandest things I have ever tasted.
I'm never dissapointed when I come here. I'm a Real Estate Broker and often bring clients who just closed with me here to celebrate. They are always pleased and impressed with the venue. The food is superb and presented to perfection. The service is always impressive. The atmosphere is truly enjoyable not to mention the free parking. The ambiance always allows the occasion to shine. I've been coming here for years and will continue to bring my clients, friends and family here to celebrate life's moments
I picked this restaurant because it showed as an option for Easter Brunch. The standard menu has good options and the special sheet for Easter Brunch looked to be decent as well. However, this is a hotel. I should have taken that in to consideration before choosing this location for Easter Brunch. No one in my party ordered from the special sheet as items like the pancakes included no meat or eggs. The same with the waffle from the main menu. The Seattlelite breakfast included both sausage and two pieces of microwave bacon and one piece of toast cut in half.
This is a better than average hotel restaurant with a better than average hotel restaurant menu.
Staff is friendly so all the food nuances were over looked for the friendly staff.
I would recommend the restaurant for hotel guest. Not for special event meals (i.e. Easter), though the hostess was awesome and the wait staff pleasant.
Great waiter, very attentive. Mellow surroundings. Wonderful food, definitely a combination of fresh Northwest and French. We had steak with mushroom and pepper sauce (perfectly cooked medium rare) and French onion soup, baked in the oven. Dessert of profiteroles with homemade banana ice-cream was superb! Nice cocktail and wine offerings too.
A small group of old friends, we have lunched here may times over the past few years. Usually we make advance reservations; but even without, we are able to be seated quickly. The wait staff is friendly, courteous, and professional. We almost always have the same waitress and she is top notch. The lunch menu provides various tasty and affordable choices. Overall, the menu is a constant, which we like; as we know what to expect, and each of us has a few favorites. The noise level is extremely low, so it is easy to converse with one another. We never feel rushed, and thus can enjoy a leisurely meal. An added bonus is that they provide valdated parking in the hotel's parking garage. All in all, enjoyable place for lunch.
