We arrived early for our reservation but were still seated within 5 minutes. Very attentive service from the wait staff. Both of us tried new menu items that were well characterized.
Daughters tenth birthday. They treated her like a queen and even brought out gelato at the end with the candle and sang to her. We had a nice round booth and lots of extra attention
My first time there and it was delicious! We sat downstairs and our waiter went and grabbed the other menus for us to look at and order from. We took a menu for take out. Will definitely go again!
Took our granddaughter for her 12th b'day and everyone was exceptionally welcoming, kind and attentive. Decor was lovely and restaurant quiet which we really enjoyed. Food was fabulous! We are lucky that she is always willing to try new foods and she loved the presentation of the Peking Duck, but enjoyed eating even more. Her first try at wonton soup was a success as well. This was our first visit and we will definitely be back.
Thanks to everyone for making here birthday dinner a great success!!
I love the food here. It is the best Chinese food on the Mainline. It is authentic and so tasty! The staff is also very kind and friendly. We came with our 10 month old and they were very accommodating.
Fabulous deal with coupon. Neighborhood gem.
Glad I made a reservation- when I arrived there were few tables open which is nice to see at such a wonderful restaurant. Jasmine green tea was divine and the tempura ginger ice cream was a unique flavor treat. As usual the service was top notch! I will be back soon for the cucumber plate which I have begun picking it up at their counter in the Lancaster farmers market in Wayne because they are so addicting!!!
Great service. Food was mediocre. Dessert had clearly been in the frig for at least a week- possibly uncovered. Thursday at 7pm and the place was empty. I'm surprised they are still open.
They seem to have really stepped up their game. In the past three months we've had two solid meals there. Recommend the lettuce wraps.
Consistently authentic and tasty. Maurer d and waiter were very attentive but did not hover. Their wontonsoup is the best. Jasmine green tea tastes clean and crisp. I love most of the seafood dishes and the green tea ice cream.
Excellent, as usual. We come to Margaret Kuo's every year to enjoy the Chinese New Year's Feast. It never disappoints. The service and the food was excellent. Thank you for making our family feel special. Happy New Year!
Whether it is our annual Chinese New Year Dinner in a private room with friends or a simple night out when we are too tired to cook, it is a privilege to have this extraordinary beautiful restaurant nearby.
One of the best places - the service was way above other restaurants. They made us feel so welcome from the moment we walked in to the minute we left. The food was excellent - every dish was delicious! A+++! Thank you to the Margaret Kuo team! We will definitely be back.
Once again, the Chionese New Year's menu was a knockout, the duck and seafood especially. The service is exceptionally gracious, and we appreciated advice for the best wines to order with the food.
Overall a great evening, would have been 5 stars but took 10
Minutes to get seated and another 10 minutes before staff understood we were there for the Chinese new Year's dinner. Once that was resolved service was great and food was awesome!
We lived in Asia for a long time with stretches in Taiwan and Hong Kong. So we know something about Chinese food. My wife chose the Chinese New Year special menu and I chose General Tsao's chicken (Not a real Chinese Dish since it seems to be served only in the US). The restaurant was full with very few Chinese dining in, usually a bad sign. Because it was full the kitchen was very busy and we were told a bit confused. The special meal came with tiny morsels of food, generally overcooked. The General Tsao's chicken was also over cooked and the dish was poorly garnished with vegetables. I have had better food at a lot less cost in other US Chinese restaurants. I will say that the preparation was in many was more traditional that I have found in other Chinese Restaurants in the US. Maybe if the kitchen wasn't so busy, the food would have been prepared better. Our server was excellent and we have no complaints with him.
Margaret Kuo's Wayne location is really two restaurants in one--and both are outstanding. The Chinese dining room downstairs is large and lushly appointed, while the upstairs Japanese room is more intimate, with two tatami rooms as well as tables, booths, and a small bar area. The good news for families like ours who love both Chinese and Japanese cuisine is that you can order from both menus no matter where you sit. In addition to sumptuous food, Margaret Kuo's is famous for its extensive wine and sake lists. Whether you're looking for an inexpensive glass or a thousand-dollar bottle of wine, you'll be pleased with the selections. I can't say enough about this gem of a restaurant.
On the first real snow of this winter, we knew where to go to get a delicious, warm and inviting meal. Wonderful presentation and let's face it - 4 inches of snow and bitter cold temperatures call for Saki and Miso soup! The always charming Warren Kuo greeted us at the door and took very good care of us. A wonderful dinner and we even enjoyed the 2-2-2 sushi sampler as an appetizer. Two terrific pieces of Maguro, Smoked Salmon and Yellow Tail - fresh and delicious. If you haven't been go, if you haven't been in a while - it's time to go back!
It was NYE so things may run more smoothly during normal days. For example, it took about 10 minutes to get menus to the table - they couldn't find any. Otherwise the service was great and the food was excellent.
Great time. The energy level took nothing away from the experience. Looking forward to next time.
Me and my husband came here on the evening of Christmas. We were seated at a small table next to a table of 4. I kinda felt like we were dining with them because we were sitting so close to them and I found it hard to carry on a conversation with my husband. We loved the cucumbers and peanuts they set out as a little appetizer. We ordered the steamed pork dumplings that were very tasty but unfortunately cold. We got the Peking duck which was amazing!!! Though they forgot our pancakes and scallions and had to wait a few minutes. Everything was super tasty! My only gripe was the cold dumplings and slow service but we knew it was going to be very busy being Christmas night. We are looking forward to coming here again but on a quieter evening.
First time there. Food was great and service was exceptional.
Overall nice place. Very friendly staff. Soup was cold. Also told waiter what dishes to bring out when and then he brought all out together. Will go back but will be more wary of these issues.
Everything on the menu that was spicy said so, except the non-spicy thing that we ordered was spicy! Very good service, and the food was delicious (just too spicy for one of our party!).
Great for a quick get together, food is always wonderdul, this time we had to find a server and ask for refills and the check but I feel this may have been an exception because it was Christmas Day
Always great but they overbooked granted it was Christmas Eve. Tim is awesome.
Thank you for making my father's birthday so special!!
Have been there many times. Local plus good food for family dining
Delicious, terrific service, the most courteous and professional staff. Great variety of menu items.
Food here is always top notch, service is friendly and efficient.
Good food and great service. Fun to taste alot of different dishes.
Great everything, have been going for years treat me like I own the place. Just the best
Great in every way.
wonderful place to have dinner-for-two. love upstairs....
Normally a great choice, but tonight there was too much corn starch in everything.
I lived in China for 5 years and have been looking for a restaurant that makes authentic fresh Chinese food. Margaret Kuo's is the closest I have seen to meeting my expectations. Their Szechuan Tofu is out of this word as is the Peking Duck. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wishing to experience authentic Chinese traditional food.
My husband and I have been to Margaret Kuo's many times. We like the food and the atmosphere. The people who work there are very friendly.
No doubt the best authentic Chinese restaurant in the Philadelphia region and perhaps in the country. I was truly impressed with the modern, elegant decor. There was space for meals with larger groups. We were seated in a cozy booth divided by softly illumanted paper walls. The servers were polite, professional and attentive. The food was superb! The menu has lots of choices. It was difficult to select from the tempting options. Great wine list too. We had a German Reisling that went perfectly with the great food. Don't miss this restaurant!
My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner here. The owner was very friendly and the service was excellent. I loved the hot and sour soup. We will return on our next visit to the area.
