Great service and excellent seafood
Great food and excellent service from Pedro!
The best. Great happy hour. Recent appetizers.
Seafood and pasta were excellent.
The food was delicious and the wait staff very helpful
We had a wonderful meal here. The service was great and we were not rushed. We slowly ordered appetizers and this was not a problem. The food was great and very fresh. We had the mussels and clams, grouper cake, tuna and Wasabi. We had salsa dancing lessons after and this was a perfect meal. We did not feel stuffed but perfectly satisfied. I would eat here over one of the other tourist restaurants on the street.
I had a wonderful time at Mare Mio. First - it's a great place for larger groups. They were extremely accommodating with our party of 8 (i.e. they were okay with changing our time in our reservation, adding a couple people, etc.). Second - the server was charming and efficient! Third - the food was delicious. Homemade ravioli? I think so!
Best fish restaurant in Miami so far
Good food. Not outstanding
Food was great. Asked for recommendations on everything we ordered, and was spot on.
Bad food, the octopus make me sick and the special occasion wasn’t special. To slow
Made the reservation after reading reviews on OpenTable. They were accurate and did not disappoint! We started with a couple of drinks, that came out quickly and were well poured. We shared the Pompano (Salt Baked) as recommended and were so pleasantly surprised. We had never had that fish previously, and it was cooked wonderfully, prepared at table-side, and was light and flakey. As they are on the corner, you have your choice of sitting along the noisy side, or the quiet side depending on your preference. The service was super attentive and the owner came by a couple of times (between cooking meals) to make sure everything was to our liking... note, he checked in at each table.
Whomever had bad reviews, I can only say our experience was completely the opposite. They *do* cook whole fish as well as other preparations, and have a wide selection of other options including pastas and meats.
We will definitely go back again.
The waiter was so kind!!!
It's great to sit on the festive street in the warm evening and eat great food. Service was very friendly and fast. From variety of dishes we ordered we likes seviche and wild mushroom ravioli the most. Planning to return to Mare Mio.
The service was friendly, the food was excellent and the people watching was fun.
Its too pricy, its not that I wouldn't spend 70 dollars on a plate and an appetizer, it just wasn't good enough for the price and the portion. The coke syrup was 3 dollars and that just screams "tourist trap". Its not bad, its even kinda nice, but it heavily relied in its location so its just not what its worth it.
Went for lunch on sat afternoon. Only one table outside. Server was too casual. No uniform. Tennis shoes. Screaming to the kitchen that the reservation was there like if this should make a change. Dont get it.
We had tuna tartar. Taste ok but easy to see that the fish was not fresh. Also a nice salad. A grouper cake not good. Too dry.
Waiter busy on the phone. Watching videos. Not professional.
See yall soon.
Really great atmosphere sitting outside, if you are there for the people watching and general fun.
We have been coming to South Beach for over five years and this was the best meal we have had! Our waiter was great and everyone was accommodating, even when we showed up with three kids. The Lobster Fra Diavolo was great and the stone crab was also great. We will be coming back during every visit for years to come!
Delicious Italian seafood! Fresh fish (we literally saw them carrying fish into the restaurant when we arrived) and amazing food all around. Española Way is such a cute area with several restaurants with outdoor seating on the cobblestones under string lights. My group’s favorite meal of our Miami trip!
Best dinner in Miami South Beach during vacation week
Went to the seafood place to get a whole fish and they didn’t have any... wanted to get a combo seafood and when we asked if they could replace the grilled calamari to fried they said they couldn’t. Least they could do was to accommodate this given that they didn’t have a whole fish (and this is a seafood restaurant!)
The freshest fish, the nicest people!
Great, Great, Great!!!
Great food, great service, great ambiance...what more can you ask for?
We sat outside and enjoyed watching people as the restaurant is situated on the corner of Española Way, which is a small, cozy pedestrian mall. The food was well prepared and any New York gourmet would be quite pleased. The portions were generous and the mojitoes among the best.
Looking forward to return soon!
We went for my husband’s birthday celebration. The service was outstanding. They made us feel special. We got the stone crab claws and they were delicious! Highly recommend!!
Very nice staff. The food was decent but way overpriced.
Fun location but food is not very good
Service was impeccable, however the food quality was worsened by each plate. An oyster was spoiled from a dish. The $12.00 Ceasar Salad was not fresh and the sauce was diatant from tasting as it should. The Grilled Seafood entree jumbo prawns were still with the vein, which must be removed - they were terrible. The water and the wine were served on glasses that were dried up with a smelly cloth, thus the glasses carried an unpleasant odour. The jalapeno creme brulee was 7/10. It was a Valentine's dinner and the food quality was 2/5. I will not return and will recommend there are better quality restaurants nearby. Many thanks!
Really nice place to eat, especially outdoors, in an otherwise noisy Española Way. Try to be seated around the corner, away from the hubbub. The food is very good, the service was excellent and the wine list is okay. Certainly one of the better eateries in this area of South Beach.
Mare Mio is top notch 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼. I have dinner there at least once a week when in Miami and it is always seamlessly perfect. Food, service, ambiance, all is Five Stars, and you pay a very reasonable price for such deliciousness. Try the deconstructed Tiramisu, and you willbe hooked !
The service was excellent, there was a dancing show in the aisle that was fun to watch. The food was delightful, I loved the cucumber and tomato salad!!! Would definitely go back when I’m in the area again!
Great service, wonderful meal, and the owner makes an awesome Irish Coffee!
Wonderful dinner with excellent service!
Pretty good, fresh Italian quisine. Not too expensive overall
The ribeye was $42 and you could have gotten it at ponderosa. Wahoo was good. Grouper so so. We don’t mind spending a lot on a meal IF IT IS GOOD. this wasn’t worth the trip.
Great spot in the heart of Espanola way. Delicious food and wonderful atmosphere.
I usually stay away from touristy Espanola Way but we were looking for whole fried snapper and a call here resulted in a "c'mon in and we will cook your whole fish to order." The fish was fantastic and the penne Bolognese was the best we had ever had. We will be back!
Great seafood and italian place...at the quiet end of espanola way....good martinis...
Unfortunately - not that memorable. The location is nice in that it is located on the cute little Espanola way. so it is lively and great people-watching. But - the same fate is suffered here as '17th/Lincoln' street. way too many tourists with restaurants not up to snuff. new rule when traveling: if there are 'hosts' standing out front waving a menu at you trying to get you to come into their restaurant - keep walking and find another area.
Mare Mio was in this area. It was ok but they were boasting how fresh their daily fish is but when asked they struggled with what choices I had. I ended up with the snapper and it was good. We also had a ceviche which I thought was good and fresh, however, extremely citrus-y. I didn't mind but it was sour. and the lobster ravioli was ok but not sure it warranted the $28 price tag - for 8.
I had a glass of wine (but it wasn't memorable). all in all - the meal was ok and I might go back if I lived down there...maybe.
