Marcony Ratings and Reviews
Sophisticated menu with some very high quality traditional Italian items and just the right number of surprises and innovations. I went for the traditional with a pumpkin ravioli, with bacon sprinkled on top and a fabulous buttery sauce. Squash ravioli is a fairly common seasonal Italian menu item, but I guess the pumpkin spin was a little bit of an American innovation. The homemade pasta was great and the seasoning was perfectly balanced. It showed the mark of a confident chef who emphasizes balance and sophistication over flashy trendiness.
We had a great time and especially loved the intimate environment at Marcony. How refreshing to dine where you can actually hear your companions talk! Wonderful service by gracious folks, and the food was fantastic. We had a perfect round table for 6, and appreciated how special we were made to feel. Can’t wait to come back again soon.
AMAZING food! My husband and I were in New York for a few days and ate here twice because it was so good! Nothing can beat true homemade Italian pasta dishes...and we have been to Italy and this place reminded us of just that. The appetizers were outstanding as well!
First time here and the whole experience was a pleasant surprise. Quaint, clean and excellent service! Very welcoming. Food seemed to be authentic homemade italian and some American. Everything we had was great. Good wine list. Prices reasonable for NYC. Would highly recommend anyone to partake.
Polite and friendly staff. Food was good but definitely overpriced. I ordered the one of the many specials that were not listed on the menu, the red snapper with gnocchi, it was good but definitely not worth $44. I expected much better food for the price point.
Excellent food. Outstanding restaurant, which at lunch is mostly business people, and becomes somewhat more diverse in the evening for dinner. Very consistent quality.
Very much enjoyed dining experience at Marcony- it is a gem! The restaurant is cozy and intimate and the service was exceptional. The menu offers great choices and in addition there are daily specials which extend the options even more. Our food was incredibly delicious including dessert and the wines recommended were superb. Would definitely recommend Marcony and will return ourselves!
It is pricey!!! But you will not be disappointed.
Overpriced Italian- the specials are longer than the menu itself but don't be fooled. Ask prices before you order a special. It's a good trick and works on the unassuming. The other night a table of 4 was flabbergasted at their check amount- no one ordered from the menu. Their check was over $600 . Tricky pricing.
We were given a table upstairs. After quite a long time, nobody came up to give us a glass of water or menu. I had to go down to ask them. The food (our pasta dish) is pretty ordinary for that kind of price. It is no longer like it was used to be. We won't consider going back for sometime to come.
Excellent restaurant. I've been going for years and the quality never fails to impress. Always fresh and delicious food from appetizer to dessert. Impeccable service as well. Doesn't matter if it's date night, family night or if you are hanging out with friends... This restaurant is great no matter what.
The typical nicer NYC restaurants have high (often unjustified) prices for what are usually small, less flavorful, "decorative" portions. Not Marcony. The prices were very reasonable for for NYC, the portion sizes were more than fair. With an easily accessible, yet tranquil, Lexington Ave location, Marcony comes highly recommended.
Our food was extremely delicious and well presented. The Polpo alla Griglia was almost a meal unto itself by NYC standards. The Frico di Parmigiano was also very well prepared and combined a nice complement of flavors. We left nothing on either plate.
Our entrees were also sizable and delectable. The Pollo Rollatina was exceptional and was cooked to tender perfection. The Scaloppine al Funghi di Bosco was extremely tender to cut with a fork and the flavor was a smoky-salty marsala-esque sauce that got better with each bite. Both came with a small side of potato quarters and steamed seasonal vegetables. We ordered a grilled vegetables plate, but discovered the plated sides with the entree would've been sufficient.
We opted for Marcony because the other OT/Yelp reviews indicated numerous interactions with the owner, Marco. He was there working on Saturday and we complimented him on our experience. It is good to know we were supporting his independent restaurant and not some faceless, high-priced corporate concept.
Highly recomend, the food was delicious, the squid ink spaghetti in combination with the mixed seafood choices suggested by our host (Patricio) it was a dish to remember, the best rack of lamb served in New York City you'll find at Marcony's special menu. My client was impressed with the food, service and ambience. Can't wait to come back. P.S. Tuna tartar is incredible.
