Marco’s is fantastic. The food is 100% authentic Italian and every bite is delicious.
We celebrated Easter with their extensive buffet. My favorite was the lasagne- just like my Italian grandmother used to make!
We always enjoy eating at Marco. Great food, wine, ambiance and music.
We celebrated the birthday of two members of our family. It was an excellent experience. We look forward to doing this again.
Warm friendly ambiance and staff, lovely food and beautiful piano music. A great treat.
What a great restaurant! The staff was courteous and professional, and the food was a culinary delight.
Has steadily gone downhill over the past few years. Server didn’t know the details of the special(there was only one!), mistakes in both the food and drink orders, food quality was sub par, caprese salad came out with 4 cherry tomato halves on a bed of lettuce with 2 slices of mozzarella? Never heard of it being served this way before.
I won’t return
We had a wonderful meal. The Filet Diane was outstanding. We very much enjoyed listening to the Pianist while we at a great meal. I do not ever remember writing a review for a restaurant but this one deserves it.
Food was very good, but it would have been nice to know that they had a fixed menu for the evening prior to making our reservation. Service was fair, but the server acted as if we were interrupting him from the moment we were seated.
Lovely and different very nice surroundings and environment peaceful
A true representation of Fine Dining! I l have future plans of attending.
Lovely experience. Cannot be in Macon without eating here. Food was so good.
I read all the reviews before trying Marco Ristorante Italiano for the first time. Glad I recognized we all have differing tastes and concepts of what is "fast" service and "good" food. Our meals were excellent and we could not have asked for more attentive and pleasant service. I've had a lot of lasagna over the years from Boston to Atlanta, and Marco's is one of the best. As for speed, if you want to be in and out in 30-45 minutes, go to Carabba's. But if you want a relaxing meal, great food and old-world ambiance, this is the place. One very pleasant surprise, live piano playing some of the old, timeless standards. We will definitely be back for more.
Awesome!! Everything was wonderful!
Sophisticated yet casual ambience, beautiful piano, authentic Italian food. Perfect for relaxing and conversation...
I hadn’t eaten there in years since I moved from Macon.
But I’m sure looking forward to returning.
There chef is quite talented. Everyone was thoroughly impressed with their choices.
Service was timely and friendly.
When served, the edge of my pasta was cold & the center only warm. For $18, that shouldn't happen.
We also waited 40 minutes from ordering to serving main course. That is excessive I think.
Overall a great expirence. Some of the dish was lacking flavor where other bites really had a great taste. The server seemed a bit lost from time to time but she was really sweet. The managers were attentive to all tables.
The food was great and the owner was very personal and nice. However, our waitress was the issue. She was extremely soft spoken, so every time she came to our table we could not understand her. Also, while we were still eating our main course, she asked us if we wanted dessert.
Outstanding Italian food! Wonderful atmosphere with a piano player which made the evening so special. Staff was delightful!
Marco holds a personal place in my heart because I worked there in college. Service was top notch as always, but unfortunately we had some issues with the food and drinks. The bartender struggled with knowing what types of scotch were available, and made an amaretto sour as if it was a straight on the rocks size drink. The food tasted good, however the portion sizes were more like those of a small appetizer. If you’re going to charge close to $30 per plate, at least offer a little more food for the price. Plus it took a little over an hour for our entrees to arrive, and it was not that busy of a night. Again, service was wonderful but might want to take a harder look at the kitchen and bartending.
This restaurant is a favorite for my wife and me. It has an excellent menu, superb food, and exceptional service.
Went here for my birthday dinner with my boyfriend’s and friends. we got there around 7 so it wasn’t overly crowded or noisy. The place was peaceful and our dinner was paced and tasty. Definately worth the drive and money.
Coming from the northeast there seems to be a top notch Italian restaurant on every block of cities in the metro corridor from NYC through New Haven to Boston, but in our experience, not so much so in other parts of the country.
Marco could stand up to the toughest competition from other Italian eateries in these highly competitive areas. Fresh ingredients, a creative menu, outstanding service and pleasant ambience, it's all there. The black gnocchi was unique and terrific, fettuccine with a light mushroom sauce was a subtle delight, and the salad with fresh burrata was not to be missed.
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Marco's, highest rating.
The ambiance was nice the atmosphere was pleasant and cozy a great place for a romantic night out. The food and wine was exceptional, will visit again.
First and foremost, staff was great. The atmosphere was lovely with a live pianist. Chef even met us at the door to tell us about the new menu. However, the food needed some improvements. The ceasar salad was great, however, the salmon entree was disappointing. The vegetable side dish was clearly frozen, not fresh. The crispy potato side dish advertised on the menu ended up being small potato wedge that also seemed to have been frozen. Sharper details on the sides are needed.
We ate there on a Monday night and there was only one other group of 4 in the restaurant. Our waitress was a Mercer student and was terrific. My medium rare rib eye was closer to well done. My wife enjoyed her salmon.
We randomly choose this restaurant when traveling. It was a hugely enjoyable experience. My husband (who is quite critical) loved the pasta primavera and tiramisu. I had the chicken scalloping, which was prepared perfectly! (Thinly sliced, just the right amount of lemon, capers and wine). The service was excellent and the pianist made the evening! He played all the old songs we love. This was the last night of our 2 1/2 month trip..perfect evening. If we ever travel to Macon, we will eat here again.
Had a great birthday party with my family. The live piano was just right to keep the conversation up beat without being intrusive. Great food, servers and atmosphere!
The food was delicious. It was a nice, quiet evening out for me and my husband. The staff was wonderful and attentive. I had the steak Diane and my husband had the sea bass.
Service was particularly slow given the fact that there were so few people dining.
Food so si medium fillet was rare potatoes and veggie cool
Excellent menu and the chef prepared our dishes superbly! Very attentive wait staff. Excellent pianist!
The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Perfect place for any occasion or even I lovely dinner.
Great food and service. Me and my girlfriend came here for a date night and was not disappointed.
Food was good. Presentation was poor. Price was way overpriced. Waitress was not very impressive. Ambiance was below average. Very disappointed.
Food was great, service was great, had a good time and tasty meal.
WAYYYY TOO EXPENSIVE
My wife and I went here for our 17th wedding anniversary, and we are glad we did. The first thing I liked is the reservation. We didn't want to wait for a long time to get seated. We were the first ones there and the host was nice. The servers were friendly and knowledgeable. The food was absolutely delicious. I got the lasagna and my wife got the salmon. We both got the minestrone soup. The lasagna was some of the best I ever had and my wife said the same of the salmon. Our only (small) complaint we had were the portion sizes. For the price, we did expect more food. Outside of that it was perfect. This place is great for special occasions!
We used to go and eat at a restaurant at this location and it was great. Not anymore. Our waiter had to make our drinks and others. Came by the table very little took at least ten minutes to get a drink. Appetizer was good not great. The salad was a joke such a pitiful attempt. My “sea scallops” has that ammonia taste like when a shark not cleaned properly. The owner and/or manager opened a bottle of wine and I guess did some “work” at a table while the lack of service went on around him. I have no issue with slow service if it and the food is good. Thanks Marcos for ruining our 23rd anniversary dinner one we will remember for a long time.
