Marco Polo's @ The Viana Hotel & Spa Ratings and Reviews
It took our waitress, the very sweet Claudia, 45 min. to give us our entrees, and we did not order an appetizer. What a long wait!! The food was very good, as was the wine, but the noise level is the worst. We could barley hear ourselves talk. So noisy. The ambience is terrible, kind of like a train station.
We were a group of 3 couples, long time friends, enjoying a delicious meal.
Everything form appetizer to entree to dessert was perfect. The Italian / Asian fusion
is wonderfully executed.
Enjoyed the specialty cocktails too. We were able to enjoy the meal, good conversation, and never felt rushed. Will definitely be back and also recommend to others.
Had the Philly Cheese Steak Eggrolls and the Teryaki Sirloin. The eggrolls were spectacular! You have to try the Wasabi Ranch dipping suace.
The Teryaki Sirloin was very good. The veggies with it could have used a bit of the teryaki sauce.
Desert was a tatufo, and it was delicious!
A nice red wine was followed by 15 year old Glenfiddich. A nice dinner.
The hotel was wonderful. The Resturant was ok, but not up to the level of the hotel. Felt like we were in a corner of the lobby. Just didn't seem to have the flow of a Resturant to it. Felt more like a fast food type of setting. People were nice, but expected more because hotel so nice. Again, wasn't terrible, just average.
Been there a hand full of times now. Food always good, place is always noticeably dirty. It's not as if they are too busy, place is never busy. To top it off my wife's dish came out with 2 very long hairs mixed into her food on this visit. We didn't bring it to anyone's attention since this place is nestled in a hotel and it doesn't seem like the management aspires to make it anything other than just that...
The fusion of Italian and Chinese sounds great in theory, but the execution simply fails miserably. Food is tasteless and mushy. For instance, we had the sampler egg roll platter. The Philly cheesesteak one and the chicken parmigiana all tasted the same! Flavors were instinct :(. And the price points were high for bland food.
Food was great. Lobster tails, carving meats, unlimited buffet and mimosas and bloody Mary's, juices, coffee. Seated immediately with reservation. Problem was not enough staff on duty to clear tables and see to requests. Repeatedly they tried to seat large parties ( over four) st those tiny cocktail hour tables. Us and several other groups we observed. Seemed unprepared for large groups. Would give another chance cause good tasting plentiful food. They need to tighten up their front of house with more severs and bus boys.
Went for Mother's Day brunch / space was over crowded and tables very close to each other so hard to get around - was setup as a buffet but very unorganized - would have been better if waiters would take the orders and bring food back when ready
Will try again but not for a special occasion
I showed up in a suit and ate dinner literally next to some guy in a hotel bathrobe, seriously!?!? With a baby!!! At 9:30 at night!!! I had Shrimp Fra diabolo, not bad but wayyyy too spicy, Wife had Korean ribs, pretty good, not great. Had to actually wait 15 minutes to get my car because the valet was no where to be found!!! Good luck EVER seeing me in this disaster again!
Worst service ever. I made a reservation days in advance being that I was celebrating my anniversay in the area, and waited 10 minutes at the podium the day of the reservation, and was not acknowledged by one single person. I went to the main lobby and asked the concierge who redirected me to the restaurant where no one was assisting me!! I ended up leaving. The place looked run down anyway. I do not recommend this place to anyone!
When we first sat down we were presented with a bowl of edemamme seasoned with fresh garlic ,salt and pepper. It was wonderful! The clam appetizer was fabulous and beautifully presented! We wanted to lick the bowl clean ! We also had the Gorgonzola flatbread which was perfect! Our waiter was wonderful and attentive to us. Would highly recommend!
A group of 5 of us drove out to Long Island for a concert, and we picked Marco Polo because of it's review in YELP. The food was delicious. Our appetizers came quickly - we ordered two salads to split. However, because of a wedding taking place at the hotel, that was the last of the good service. We repeatedly asked where our dinner was - and after we were there almost an hour, the manager finally came through and brought out our food. We had about 15 minutes to get to our concert, but made that as it was extremely near. We would go back again, but I would probably plan additional time just to be sure.
I definitely like the atmosphere of this restaurant. The Staff and Manager are extremely friendly. This was my second visit and plan on returning. The food is tasty and the presentation very nice. Try the egg roll sampler!
We returned to Marco Polo because we liked it so much during Restaurant Week and wanted to try their regular menu. We were not disappointed. We shared the Egg Roll Sampler for an appetizer it was delicious and satisfying, like comfort food. We each followed it with Sesame Tuna Tataki which was cooked to perfection and a real taste treat. The portions were so ample that neither of us had room for dessert. Service was impeccable.
Had such a great time! Was celebrating a friends birthday, as well as attending a show at a local theater. The food, service, and ambiance were great. The manager, Will, was outstanding (very sociable, personable, and knowledgeable about the food, cocktails). We even met a celebrity there. We will definitely be back!
