Excellent food, professional staff & quiet environment. Very enjoyable dinning experience. Will definitely return and recommend.
I took my fiancé for a birthday dinner. The experience overall was wonderful. The restaurant was quiet and delightful. The service was great, they attended us quickly and kindly.
We had a very pleasant lunch with friends. Service was outstanding; food was well-prepared. All staff were polite and attentive.
Marco Polo is charming, service was good and food is delicious – enjoyed baked clams, artichoke appetizer and fish special, delectably prepared with wine and capers. Olive tapenade paired with olive oil was tasty on bread. The only disappointment was ricotta cheesecake, a bit dry and nothing special. But overall we were happy and will return.
We've lived in the neighborhood for over 15 years and have been to Marco Polo twice. It was a disappointment both times. Where there are some other really great Italian restaurants in the area, the service was terrible, and the food was mediocre and overpriced. Four of us went, and not one of us would go back.
Food was great. Great ambiance. Small service issue where he waiter forgot about us after dinner was over and we had to wait 15 minutes to order desser but otherwise a great experience.
good food, comfortable, formal restaurant but was still good for family dining with my kids.
Super traditional Italian environment and lovely food to go with it. Would definitely go back
This place was fantastic! The Ceasar Salad was perfect, oysters perfect, prosciutto with freshly made mozzarella beyond words.
We had a long leisurely meal that was just perfect.
I don't get to New York often but when I do get back there, this will be my first stop.
Thank you to the entire staff.
A true neighborhood gem that has been around since 1983 (you can scan the history of the City through the photographs on the walls of various dignitaries). The food is mostly traditional Italian. And very good (I had the branzino and my girlfriend had the veal scallopini). The service is old-school and top-notch.
This is our 2nd time coming to Marco Polo Restaurant and as if it were our first the staff is very attentive and accommodating. The food was delicious. Will definitely come back
The staff was professional and efficient. The service was quick but not sloppy.
We really enjoyed the food. The octopus and oysters were the best I've had in a while.
We will definitely be returning to try other things on the menu.
Great ambiance, great food.
Place is not good. I have never rated a place bad but I could not find a reason to give two stars anywhere here. Took my family and was so embarrassed. So old and boring and the server try to up sell you on everything. Almost like a greedy unionized restaurant. Save your money.
Came here for a birthday celebration with a group of 14. Very accommodating, easy to arrange, nothing was too much trouble. Friendly service throughout from front of house to bar staff to servers. Excellent cocktails at the bar. Varied menu offering old-school Italian classics and specials cooked right - without being overly fancy or ostentatious. Very good wine list on top and reasonable prices.
The food was very tasty and well-prepared. The staff was friendly and attentive. We would go back.
Excellent as always.
One of Brooklyn’s best restaurants, had a great meal and outstanding bottle of wine.
Celebrated a birthday here. Great food. Fantastic staff.
Marco Polo made our celebration special. As always, the staff, food and service were excellent; we'll be back!
We came in for dinner and had a great experience. The service was excellent and attentive. The food was pretty good and cooked to perfection. We loved them all.
We were celebrating a birthday and it was the perfect restaurant for a nice occasion. The ambiance was spot on, with white table cloths and votive candles, and soft lighting. It was quiet since it was a Monday night, but that’s how we like it. Our dinner was delicious, and the service was excellent ! They even brought out a birthday surprise, gelato with a candle. All in all a perfect evening.
Started with the Seafood salad which was fresh, for dinner had the veal which was excellent. Wife had the red wine pasta, always a favorite and prepared at the table.
Date with my wife! Very good food, excellent service, no complaints. The food was prepared to let you taste the ingredients not the salt or heavy sauce. Very attentive service. Very comfortable. Better than any Italian restaurant have been to in Manhattan (but of course -- this is Brooklyn)!
I am never disappointed, from the greeting and seating until I leave, a good experience. You can count on the food to be delicious. Large tables and small accommodating. Outside seating is available and great for people watching!
The food was great. I recommend the rack of lamb. The service was great, just like a well oiled machine. They accommodated a party of 10 seamlessly.
Very traditional Italian. Delicious orecchiette with broccoli rabe.
great service with delectable food selection. a local favorite
Our foursome had a delicious dinner. Shrimp cocktail and fried artichoke appetizers were delicious. Veal chop, gnocchi and ravioli main courses were stand outs. Service was pleasant and efficient. This place has all of the things we look for in a neighborhood restaurant--an "A" rating from the Health Dept. inspection, comfortable, well-spaced seating, low volume music allowing for conversation, reliably good food and service and, for downtown Brooklyn, convenient, available parking for dinner. It's what many good restaurants used to be like, but hard to find today in Brooklyn. Trendy, loud, congested and gimmicky restaurants abound, many without convenient parking. Few survive as long as this place has.
Excellent food, extensive menu..... food is so fresh especially the raw seafood.. highly recommend looking forward to going back. Prices are extremely reasonable.
had a birthday dinner for a party of 8 and everything was fantastic
Some reviewers stated the ambiance was dated, we totally disagree. The place was lit with votive candles and white tablecloth; very nice. I will say, the Fettuccine al Vino was tasteless; although they will put on an unexpected table side presentation. The chicken Marsala was the standout dish! We will definitely be back!
This restaurant has evolved from a very good red sauce restaurant to a creative and inventive restaurant.
Our meal was delicious...artichoke, octopus and oyster Rockefeller on point.
Don't miss the wine fettuccine prepared in a huge parmesan reggiano wheel...
This is a great neighborhood gem
It took 30 minutes to get anything we ordered. Everytime. Waiters were inattentive and everyone who came in after our table was served first. I've never been so furious. I will never come back to this place, I would have been better off staying in Manhattan.
Had a wonderful Mother's Day lunch, food was excellent as always
My husband and I had an excellent quiet meal. We found a nice selection of healthy, delicious menu options. The wine was very good and reasonably priced. We will definitely be back.
Excellent Service. Food had both good and bad points. Server offered special bottle of wine and created a price for it, which when checked with market rate was normal 100% + mark up from retail and not any real deal. Despite this, wine was excellent and we enjoyed, just would prefer a less shady sell. Pastas were done well and cooked with skill. Appetizers were disappointing as melon was note ripe. Creme brûlée had a chewy texture, and not the crisp shell that makes it so appealing.
Nice Italian restaurant for the neighborhood. Good location. Friendly staff.
So good! The chicken cutlets with pesto Parmesan topper was amazing! Absolutely great place!
I cannot say enough about this excellent restaurant. The staff, especially our server, were outstanding. I don't usually order "specialty Cocktails," but I am so glad I made an exception and did so in this case! The selection, food, service, everything top notch. Can't wait to go back!
Bright and noisy. Cocktails overly sweet and unrefined. Failed to clear our table before each new round of dishes. Didn't keep track of who ordered what. Very expensive. The steak part of the Romeo & Giulietta was however a good medium rare. The lobster was over cooked. Felt like a school cafeteria.
