Amazing dinner. One of the best French restaurant in Southern California.
The ambiance and food were wonderful. The portions and price were very fair. The service was not up to what I would expect at a restaurant of that caliber.
Everything was great except we were seated next to the door to the patio which was distracting and cold every time it didn’t close properly.
Love Marche Moderne. Every dish is piece of art, presentation and taste are incredible. I strongly recommend this restaurant for any occasion.
Everything was excellent! Lorissa was charming as always. What a jewel they have! Of course, each plate served was so well presented and amazingly delicious cuisine!
Love this place. Food was delicious. Period. We had a reservation but still waited a little before seated. They were running behind schedule because they closed the patio seating due to the rain. We were there for birthday, after dinner they brought us a little birthday dessert. It was very thoughtful.
If this is supposed to be the pinnacle of fine dining in Orange County, it's no wonder this county's food scene is often dismissed. Not what it used to be, serving a different crowd now. Disinterested staff and service, lackluster/cold food, and far too much time between courses. A mound of frozen fries on the steak frites, not even reheated properly? What a shame.
Foods always consistent , price is good , great service , great locations
Monday spontanee dinner is an unbelievable value and excellent.
This time I sat at the bar. The food is amazing. I loved the two bartender ! Had a really good time.
Excellent food, service and ambiance
Delightful! Just excellent service and delicious!0
Was good not great
First time at the new restaurant- decor is nice and subdued elegant. Three diners- appetizers were nice and my wife had the hanger steak - nicely presented but meat was very rich with a caramelized sort of barbecue sauce taste.
Tons of french fries - sort of like McDonalds thin cut fries with just too much salt -
My client ordered the lamb shank - tasted good he said.
I ordered the Bouillabaisse- a problem. The waiter pours this very fancy shiny pot of sauce over a nice collection of lobster and scallop parts and potatoes. The sauce was almost room temperature - not good. I would have sent it back immediately but I had a client at this dinner and didn’t want to cause any controversy over a meal- so I bucked up and ate it.
The three main courses took way too long to arrive and the waitress offered comped desserts - nice gesture.
Maybe the restaurant has too many tables for the size of the kitchen staff?
I think this was just an off evening - I will try it again soon - — hopefully the experience is as good as I had experienced in the past at the original restaurant.
Desserts were very nicely presented and excellent overall as were the appetizers we had as well. Service was good but sometimes rushed feeling —
The food tastes even better than the old location. Still the best restaurant in the OC.
Appetizers and main courses were outstanding; dessert was very good, very pretty, but not splendidly delicious. The indoor architecture is splendid!
Super great. Wonderful meal / did not feel rushed /
On the list to return soon
Phenomenal in every way. This is true, skilled cooking at its best. Every element in every dish is exquisite, perfectly balanced, perfectly cooked. Very thoughtful technique driven food. The service is equally amazing and professional. The dining room, kitchen and also the china are impressive, sophisticated and beautiful. Marche is a very special place for every occasion. It offers the highest quality. This is next level dining worthy of a Michelin star. Our favorite and by far best restaurant in Orange County.
Very pleasant authentic food. Really unique creations and a nice cocktail menu.
The 3 of us were celebrating our Birthdays together and we had a lovely evening.
I mentioned to our waitress why we were there. The courses were excellent and the Charcuterie boards hit the spot! My daughter had handcrafted cocktails that she enjoyed very much. I ordered several wines from their list and each selection was very very good. When we were finished, our waitress brought each of us a "Happy Birthday" plate with a delicious cookie and "Happy Birthday" words were signed in chocolate script. It was a surprising end to our wonderful enjoyment of Marche Moderne.
We all enjoyed our meal. All four of us ordered different appetizers, entree and dessert and all were pleased with our choices. The service was great.
This was our second dining experience, and it was even better than the first time. Food is excellent, service is spot on, and the decor is very nice. My only complaint is that the noise level inside is very loud. We might try the patio next time and see if it's a little quieter
Great food and service, this restaurant never disappoints!
Elegant, delicious French food in Newport Beach in a modern setting with easy parking. Enjoyed especially the view of the pastry chef building napoleons behind the glass!
This restaurant is exceptional in every way - a fabulous creative men, beautifully presented dishes, excellent taste. Surely one of the very best of Orange County oe anywhere for that matter.
Front staff wasn’t too friendly when we were waiting to be seated. Server was exceptional and paid attention every detail. Assist service staff while good didn’t not notice the details as the main staff. Quality of food was exceptional!!
Fabulous service, extraordinary menu. Caviar service, great food, superb wine list. For French wine lovers, they sell DRC here, and a respectable list of Bordeaux. Great California selection as well.
Enjoyed the new location. Michael, our waiter, was a delight...personable, efficient , great smile, had wonderful suggestions regarding wine and entree selections. Looking forward to returning in the coming months.
Visiting from the East Coast, looking for a great dinner, many sites recommended this restaurant. Lives up to its reputation. All dishes prepared with elegance. Bone marrow appetizer a particularly fine presentation, and any restaurant offering bone marrow is one adhering to French rather than Frenchified food. It is also clearly the neighborhood place with mostly regulars when we were there (a Wednesday night). You need reservations if you aren't a regular.
The service was very good. The new restaurant was very well done. The food seemed to be good quality and reasonably priced. The primary disappointment that my wife and I had was with the flavorings [herbs, sauces, etc.] used by the chef. We didn't like their taste. The place was crowded, and from what I could see there were repeat customers. So, perhaps our taste likes and dislikes are not the "norm". But, we won't go back because the tastes were not pleasing to us.
Our sever was outstanding!!!
Thank you very much.
We will back again.
A fabulous time from start to finish! Our first return since the move. From the moment we walked in and saw familiar faces we were treated like royalty. The menu is all you have come to expect from this fine establishment and so much more! All the classic dishes are back. But there are many new small plates and specials too! We can’t wait to come back.
Simply amazing. Top tier food and service. Menu is imaginative and reaches beyond the common.
We felt that the food was perhaps too rich for the California palette. Perhaps a tweak on the heavy French dishes to accommodate the California coastal culinary tastes would be more appropriate for this area. South Coast Plaza attracts a different crowd than laid back Laguna and CDM and I wonder if this restaurant will last long with the locals.
This was my first visit to the new location and I went there to celebrate my birthday. I thought the food was great, although the portion of the Duck Confit was a bit small for dinner. Overall, everything was great, but I was disappointed that the wine we brought was not opened immediately so that it could breathe (despite my request that the waiter do so). It took him quite a while to open it so by the time it did fully breathe, we were down to our last few sips. If a restaurant is going to charge $35 as a corkage fee, then I feel there should be proper service to go along with that fee. It simply wasn't there. Everything else was good though, so I would try it again...just not with an expensive bottle of wine from home!!
Food was fabulous and inventive. Service was wonderful.
The South Coast location was much better for everything including the food, ambiance, service. The service seemed rushed with them taking plate even as we were eating. The bread was definitely not as good with no selection. The noise level moderate and not cozy at all. Food was definitely not as outstanding as before. Unfortunately will live on its laurels from before sadly. Hope they upgrade food especially to previous level!!??
Amazing food, amazing service and great atmosphere . The best restaurant in OC! We highly recommend it.
Not sure they need another review but why not. Amazing experience, beautiful restaurant, great service and the food is out of this world. Don't think about it just do it!
