The food, from appetizerswas excellent

My wife and I dined there more than 6 times and it was one of our favorite places . This time the service was very poor. Our waitress looked judgmental to our choices just because I ordered one appetizer and another one as my main course. No special treatment for our anniversary !! Next time I rather pick another restaurant for our special occasion.

The menu was very nice and unique. Unfortunately some of the food didn’t come out really hot. It had cold spots in it.

It was beautifully decorated and the waitress was very nice.

The duck confit was, unfortunately, very dry. The octopus appetizer and the fish special was prepared well. We brought our own wine and they decanted it but no one assisted us with the pour and refilling our glasses. So we served ourselves and still had to pay for the $35 corkage. The food was just ok and I really wanted to like this place since there are limited selection of fine dining places in Newport Coast :(.

First time there. Will definitely go back. Food, atmosphere and service were great.

We love Marché Modern. We celebrated my husbands birthday and every single person who came over to the table wished him a Happy Birthday, that is just one gesture that makes this restaurant so special. The service is always impeccable and the food even more so. Every single thing we ordered was perfect! Thank you again for a wonderful evening.

One of our favorite restaurants in Orange County. The food is excellent and the service is very professional, we always request Larissa as our server. Always a great evening!

Anniversary

Absolutely enchanting dining experience. We now know that the one off less than excellent dinner we had there a few weeks back was just that. An exception. Cannot wait to go back again.

Our waitress was little disappointed... not checking table for long long time and couldn't locate our waitress for awhile to order main dish. She dripped pouring wine and dropped few lemons and food on me and didn't notice till I called her to mention about it:( Maybe I'm expecting too much or being spoiled by other restaurants experiences?.... but this kind of circumstances, "good" restaurants provide a desert on house and/or discount or manager comes to apologize, but none of the above happened:( We always had a great time at this restaurant, so it was just unfortunate...

Anniversary

We had dinner on a Monday and took advantage of the Monday Night Prix Fix menu which was very good. Our server Jeffery was a star! Loved sitting on the patio which has heaters although we did not need them this time.

A favorite spot of mine and it never disappoints. Great food and great service. Can’t wait to go back.

Love this restaurant but one short rib dinner had lots of fat and the duck leg was stringy and chewy. Sweetbread was excellent and the other order of short rib was good. So, we will be back. Oh and the french onion soup is a fabulous meal all by itself.

Great as always

We really enjoyed our brunch today. I had the most delicious potato pancake with smoked salmon that not only looked amazing with beautiful garnishes, but tasted fabulous! The pastries were also delicious.
My only complaint would be that the service was slightly slow, but still attentive. Will definitely return.

Marche has and continues to be exceptional!! Florent and Amelia have been amazing owners who continuously provide exquisite food. The pig ear special appetizer on fried Brussels sprouts was a very nice new addition to the menu! My wife has two tasty mock tails and the walnut bourbon cocktail i had was really nice, not too sweet but perfect. The octopus was amazing as usual as well as my wife’s pear salad. The duck confit was so delicious and the sea bass is second to none. I highly recommend Marche!

Usually Marche Moderne is outstanding. This evening we had a very poorly trained server. We had brought a 20 year old Paulliac Bordeaux and asked for it to be decanted while we were enjoying cocktails. Our server was unable to find a decanter, and 45 minutes later we had to ask him to please open the bottle to let it aerate. We served ourselves and poured the bottle ourselves ALL evening. Never was he around to pur, nor did he offer. We had to ASK if there were specials, he seemed terribly unsure and was not able to describe the specials ( let alone sell us on them). When bringing the dessert , one order had fallen apart ( he was carrying three) the macrons and he put it down and picked up a teaspoon and said he would "fix" it, at which point we said to just leave it, not wanting him to handle our food, so unprofessional. It took 3 hours , had to ask for bill. The waitstaff for bread and water were efficient and attentive though. We left thinking "how interesting, the server you get really does affect the experience". The food was relish, but we went home very disappointed. How sad!! Of all the times, over all of our years, this was a first, so I certainly would give this restaurant a try.

This is a special spot for me. I consider this one of the best places for dining in Orange County. Putting aside the attentive service, warm atmosphere and intimate surroundings, it begins and ends with the food. I’ve always enjoyed the style and quality of the food and drink. You should be a fan of French-style cuisine to truly enjoy the experience. I would recommend for everyday dining and special occasions

The overall experience is always outstanding. The food is prepared exquisitely. The service is welcoming, informative and without request for. It flows effortlessly. Marche Moderne is consistent and enlightening at the same time. Definitely a must stop for anyone.

My daughter and I had a lovely and delectable meal complete with drinks and dessert. Such unique and fresh offerings; I am always delightfully surprised with the creative choices including fresh Uni in a grapefruit gelee.

Great food, great ambiance, and very attentive staff. Elegantly low key with an original and creative menu. Food was exceptional. I look forward to returning and I'd recommend to anyone.

Great for a birthday celebration. And, it was inexpensive, too. They appear to have a Monday evening special ‘Prix Fixe Menu’. We brought our own wine (there is a corkage fee). And, the overall experience was very inexpensive for this caliber of restaurant. I think it is the best French restaurant in Orange County.

This elegant restaurant is one of our favorite special occasion places. We also enjoy the Monday night Prix Fixe dinners which is what we had on this evening. I had a delicious artichoke soup and my wife enjoyed a persimmons salad. We both enjoyed the shrimp and scallop entree and the excellent cheesecake and coconut gelato dessert. The carafe of white wine for $18 was also very good.

Beautiful upscale French restaurant with a modern twist on the traditional, while keeping the French high standards of culinary excellence. Some of the outstanding options we chose were Amelia's Chopped Salad, French onion soup, Coq au Vin, and an Austrian dessert not on the menu. Great for celebrating a special occasion.

From the valet when we arrived until the valet when we left, everything was superb. Everyone was very attentive and the food was marvelous...veal, trout, scallops and the octopus appetizer and chocolate cake for dessert. Our water glasses never empty and everything was cleared and delivered with ease. Our guests were absolutely delighted and look forward to their next visit!

Our server was incredibly knowledgable and very helpful. Really enjoyed every aspect of the meal. Standout dishes for us were the Wild Spanish Octopus and the Scottish Salmon.
