Marché Moderne’s truly exceptional cuisine marries classic French cooking techniques with modern sensibilities, along with world-class service and hospitality for an unparalled dining experience.
Guests can now enjoy an oceanfront setting, with a brand new restaurant design featuring a stunning exhibition kitchen, an outdoor patio and an expanded bar.
Wonderful food. Great service nice ambiance. Can’t wait to return.
5 Stars is extremely hard to get with me. Usually reserved for a Michelin Star establishment when deserved. With that said, everything met my expectations. If there was any negative, the Sweetbreads were slightly overcooked.
Elegant dining, immaculate food.
This was another great dining experience at Marche Moderne. I could go on and on about the beautiful decor, the exquisite culinary technique, and the friendly knowledgable service. However, I want to focus on one of the most important elements in cooking, and where Marche Moderne consistently shines - the ingredients. The oysters consistently stand out for their clean, briny taste and texture. Chef obviously sources the best seafood available, making these oysters among the best anywhere. Spring is here, and the menu featured Zuckerman's Farm asparagus, the gold standard in California produce. These sought after ingredients are seasonal, difficult to find and expensive to buy. The reward is a distinctively delicious meal. Marche Moderne continues to be among the finest culinary destinations in Southern California. I can't wait to return!
brought wrong dish out
Best French cuisine & atmosphere in Newport Beach!
The BEST restaurant in OC!! Our server Tina was outstanding and made our dining experience even better!
Loved each course and watching the kitchen function.
Very good on all fronts, but my cod was very bland compared to everything else we ordered.
Celebrated our 15th anniversary. Couldn’t have been better!
Duck mousse app and panna cotta dessert were both outstanding! My Branzino was very good (not the best I ever had) and my husband’s fish was way overcooked. They did readily replace it with another fish that was better but not fantastic. Glad we tried Marché Moderne but honestly expected more. We may possibly give it another try.
Got overcharged on my bill and never heard back from restaurant
Hello Sir Did our general manager call you today. we know what happened. an honest mistake was made. sorry we had to research .
My wife & I had an outstanding dinner. Jeffrey our server was exceptional - friendly, attentive, caring. We love the Monday Prix Fixe menu and will be there on Mondays as often as possible!
Absolutely terrible experience as we are seated next to a door that was opening and closing throughout the dinner. To make things even worse, the smells of marijuana spread throughout restaurant from the patio. This was a thoroughly unpleasant dinner
We are sorry you did not enjoy your time with us on 4/14 We have made notes and will address the issues. Your party arrived at 8:43 . We moved your party at 9:07 (23Minutes) before dinner. We are so sorry for the smell of marijuana but no one was smoking inside the restaurant or patio We do not control public area / parking lot. We hope to see you again please email us at email@example.com if you wish to make a reservation. we would be happy to make sure you are comfortable.
Wonderful experience, great service
Super disappointed with our experience here, especially given that this place is on seemingly everyone's "Best of OC Dining" list. Service was terrible: waited 15 minutes before the server asked if we'd like a cocktail or glass of wine, to which I responded, "Could I have the wine and cocktail lists, please?" When the drinks finally arrived, one of them was obviously wrong - waiter brought a whiskey-based drink rather than the tequila-based cocktail that was ordered. How a server at one of the supposed "best" restaurants could make this error after just making a separate error by having us sit with no drink list and then asking for our drink order is not satisfactory at this price point. The food was slightly above average - the duck entree was good, not great, and the lamb was slightly above average. Normally, we give a restaurant a second chance, but we likely won't return to Marché Moderne.
Always Great !!!
The food is excellent
The steak at poivre is missing something they tried to make it an American dish for the name and the price is not good disappointed
Salad good martini good desert good my wife ordered mussels she like it
Still upset about the steak
Lately I am not with most steaks restaurants
Interesting and enticing menu; attentive service; knowledgeable waiter; excellent food, beautifully presented. Would have been a 5 star meal except for loud boisterous obnoxious guests at the next table.
Unbelievably delicious from the french onion soup through the asian pear salad to the copper pot of short ribs and veggies, all accompanied by their house red bordeaux wine.
Excellent food.The decor is good.
The noise level was moderate.
Wonderful scallops and short ribs. The service was exceptional including the waiter’s assistants. A very special birthday celebration.
Sweat breads were fantastic as always. Morrel mushroom appetizer is not to be missed!
This is the one of the best Restaurant in the OC.
Went to celebrate my birthday with a party of 4 we ordered 2 red wine carafes, 1 fromage board, 1 charcuterie board, habachi appetizer, 4 entrees, 1 dessert and the bill was only around $240 but we were all stuffed!! We even had some leftovers. Everything was well proportioned and the customer service was very friendly and warm. Would return!
Consistently outstanding in every detail of food and service.
Marche always is wonderful. Great service and excellent food.
Wow!!! Every dinner we have a Marche Moderne is such a wonderful experience. We feel like
we are eating at the most gourmet Michelin 4-Star Restaurant. The food is so creative
and delicious. The desserts and salads are different each time and so amazing.
I was thrilled to finally find the new location of this little treasure. It is chic, albeit a bit loud with lots of hard surface noise, but the booth helped. We began with craft cocktails, delighted with them, our waiter, Dane, tweaked them for us- perfection! He made recommendations for everything we asked: we tried the French onion soup and tuna tartare, both delicious. Disappointed to not find 100% grassfed red meat (doc ordered it!), I tried the Black Sea Bass and it did not disappoint. Desserts were yummy too. We will return, soon.
We had another outstanding dinner at Marche Moderne. The service was impeccable and the food was inventive, beautiful, and most importantly delicious! Thank you for a lovely experience.
My wife's birthday -- Excellent service, great food & wonderful ambience. Seated across from the 'kitchen' witnessing an awesome display of organization on a busy Saturday night. Loved the vegan option.
We just had our first dinner at MM but it will not be the last. Definitely more of a special evening restaurant, but I could see enjoying charcuterie and appetizers at the bar followed by desert. Service is friendly and professional and the food is very very good. We enjoyed the duck breast and also the steak frites. Also, we felt wine prices were reasonably marked up given the caliber of restaurant.
A fine restaurant not to be missed when in Orange County - among the best in Southern California.
Had Duck Confit on this visit - outstanding, not fatty and delicious.
Began with the beet and cheese salad - beets tasted they just cane from the garden and the fresh cheese was wonderful.
The service experience was a bit rocky to begin the evening but after about 20 minutes service was great - might have been because of a very large party being served at the time of our reservation.
Can’t wait to visit again.
Wonderfully coordinated service with knowledgeable staff. Food was authentic and perfectly seasoned and presented. A true Orange County gem.
met some great people from nyc who share common friends while visit newport
We loved the food and the service. We were seated right next to the kitchen . Did not enjoy that. We have made a reservation for April and hope to be seated in a booth.
I’ve been a long time loyal customer at Marche. I’ve always loved Marche and looked forward to dining at Marche. Today we celebrated my bff’s bday and I have to say sadly it was the worst dining experience ever.
It took 40 mins for us to get served bread and butter and our sever came back handful times. We didn’t get to order our main dishes and even then it was ordered through another server whom we love. Our server was extremely inattentive. I had no utensil at one point once the plates got replaced. We had to ask few times to get our water glasses refilled.
Bday girl’s macaroon was so hard that it had to literally get cut using a knife. When it was brought to attention, the server replied sarcastically that it’s a macaroon.
He was very dismissive with regards to what was mentioned.
It was definitely not what I was looking forward to and I was disappointed with the whole dining experience tonight.
If/when the Los Angeles area restaurants get Michelin Stars, Marche Moderne should definitely be at the top of that list!
Duck liver terrine was wonderful as was coq au vin. Home made madalines for desert were yummy.
