Excellent, classy. Still friendly, comfortable place, tho’. Dress up, dress down (to a limit, I suppose!). Focus on the food, focus on each other.
Interesting, creative cuisine, great staff and service.
amazing food creations, great ambiance, super service, cannnot say enough good things! We love this restaurant and are frequent patrons.
Fabulous restaurant with top notch food and staff. Always a pleasure to dine here. Lovely seasonal menu. Their latest dessert creation - a miniature Baked Alaska is divine.
Marche’s new spring menu is great. The braised short ribs with polenta is especially good. Highl6 recommended.
We routinely make reservations, we dress for the occasion, we tip very well and yet we have been treated like we aren’t good enough to dine there.
I had requested to be seated away from the entrance and was placed in a favorable booth located at the rear of the restaurant. The server was patient with us, even though our meeting ran long (2.5 hours.) The service was stellar and the food was delicious, as always.
great as always--one of my favorite restaurants in Eugene
Started with the oysters and could not eat them...strange odor and taste. Next salads were served and a large piece of plastic was in my salad...yikes.
Service was fine-not exceptional. We dined at 6:00 p.m., so early enough to be able to sit in the area of our choice - the place was fairly empty - but we were told that all (approximately 6-8 tables) in our area of choice were reserved. We were not given a second choice, simply seated without apology. We ordered the brussel sprouts and fresh crab salad for $21, which would have been a good dish were it not for the fact that we literally had to hunt for the crab. Too much money for one bite of crab.
This restaurant needs to get back to basics: Great service and great food at reasonable prices.
Upon being seated for our reserved dining appointment, it was a bit disheartening to be ignored by our waiter for over 10 minutes. The busser was quite attentive, pouring water and offering us bread, then refilling our water glasses as we waited to order anything.
The person who turned out to be our waiter was most chatty and attentive to the couple who sat five feet away and were there when we arrived, but studiously avoided making even basic eye contact as he passed by. No attempt to even say "hi, I'll be right with you" or some other placating nonsense, let alone an attempt to serve us.
We did finally get his attention, ordered drinks and food at the same time, not trusting we'd get his attention again that evening.
And finally, and I hate spending so much time ranting about the server, but it seemed from our observations of his interactions with other around us to be systemic and the norm: when we were leaving, he was also hurrying along the same aisle as we were walking on our way out the door. So in a case where in any other establishment, the staff would stop and offer us the way out the door and wait for us to pass, this individual decided it was too important for him to get to the bar, and dodged in front and around us, causing us to have to pause and dodge him in his spastic effor to get by us.
WTF? We've been told by bussers bearing huge platters of perilously teetering dishes to go ahead as they wait for us to pass, despite our pleading for them to go first as they were clearly bearing a huge load. Yet this guy felt no need to show us even the slightest of manners, and pushed on by on his way to get some other poor soul who had been no doubt waiting for way too long for thier drink/wine/whatever.
So no, I can't recommend this restaurant. The food was actually very good. The inexperienced and poorly trained staff ruined what could have been an otherwise decent dining experience. Some basic training of staff could go a long way here.
We always enjoy going to Marches...love the Lattes in a bowl...very comforting. We go to Marches for special occasions . It makes us feel special. aster was a nice time to enjoy Brunch after church. Mom and son love to location and we browse in the shops after we eat. Very photogenic place as well. The waiters and waitresses are always professional and friendly Thank you!
our favorite dining spot in Eugene. relaxed, excellent service and food....what more can you ask for?
Marche has the best prepared food in Eugene, hands down. We ate in the bar and my all-time favorites: the hamburger and the Portobello sandwich. I try to eat here as often as possible.
Very pleasant dining experience
Have been here many times over the years
I like the atmosphere and the food
Food was good but pricy. Ambiance and service 5 star.
Elegant. Perfectly attentive staff but not overwhelming. Good spot for foodies.
My friend and I celebrate our birthdays with a Sunday Brunch at Marche'
We love the pleasant atmosphere and the delicious food.
She always has the Eggs Benedict. I had scrambled eggs, little doughnuts and
a fruit plate with great coffee.
I will probably be back next Sunday for more !
We were on a road trip and were looking for a good place for breakfast. Most of the places we looked at were not appealing but this place looked just right. We were glad we ate here and also enjoyed their other place called Provisions. They have coffee, baked goods and other foods to go as well as being a market and home goods store. Really a pleasant surprise.
We often meet friends here for Brunch and to catch up every couple of months. Food was delicious, as always and service was impeccable. We will return!
We will continue to dine here anytime we are in Eugene.
We have enjoyed Marche on many occasions. This Sunday's service was uncharacteristically slow as well as inaccurate. I am hopeful next Sunday's brunch experience will be back to the service we have typically enjoyed.
We had an amazing meal with exceptional service. The short ribs and tenderloin were expertly prepared.
Reservation system top notch. Prompt seating. Excellent, efficient, knowledgeable waitress, great cocktails, excellent food. Our best experience yet at Marche’s.
Our server was fantastic!
This was a special menu night at Marche. THey offered a regional menu for the Savoie and the Alps portion of france. It was exceptional in course design, taste, regional wines with each course and Prix Fixe.
This is our 'go to' restaurant in Eugene. Very rare to be disappointed in all the years we have been going here. Locally sourced, seasonal pics. Great blend of flavors. Great monthly 'regional dinners'. Great for happy hour, brunch, whatever. Great staff. We cook and eat well at home..... When we go out, we want something as good or better.... this restaurant fits the bill!
Wonderful winter menu. The new dish, risotto and pork was flavorful and well made. Another new dish was crudités with an anchovy dip. We ate all of it. Great. Wine and drinks were great as always.
I took my grandson who is a university student and one of his friends for brunch. Between them they ordered 3 entrees and a side of roasted potatoes and they ate every bit of it! Everything was delicious and I will be back and bring them again when driving through Eugene. Nice quiet atmosphere too - a welcome change from Portland's noisy restaurants.
Sean was a superb waiter and took care of us! The menu was fun and very tasty!!
Always a good experience at this place good food and good service is the norm
Love this place. Service was excellent food was delish . My new go to place in Eugene
Excellent food and service. Pricing is reasonable for the high quality food but tab goes up quickly with a bottle of wine (and who cant have french cuisine without a bottle of wine).
Roasted Brussel sprouts with Dungeness crab with lemon vinaigrette is to die for!
The varied dishes that the three of us ordered were very inconsistent in quality. The black cod was fabulous, the meatballs were terribly disappointing. One type of raw oysters was exceptional and the other left much to be desired. The flavor of the blood orange sorbet was weak but the apple crisp was delicious.
Excellent food, and extremely knowledgeable and helpful server!
Although in the past we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and service this time we were disappointed especially the service. Ordering a drink that came with an apertif she didn’t bring it and we had to ask for it. Also, we were surprised when our server mixed our second glass of wine with the first.
Our server also shamed our son from ordering too much food. Even with the above we would return hoping this was just an off night!
Great food, service and ambience but a little loud. We felt we had to talk louder than we wanted.
Perfect lunch celebrating my friends birthday. It was everything we hoped for.
