Marche, located in Eugene, Oregon, opened in August 1998. The restaurant, which seats 80 guests, has an exhibition kitchen featuring a beautiful wood-fired oven. There is also a stylish bar and a large outdoor dining area, covered with awnings and umbrellas and surrounded by a garden of herbs and edible flowers. Marche takes its name from the French word for market – a word that describes our location in the bustling 5th street Market and more importantly, our philosophy of cooking. The menu is based on the foods one would find at a farmer’s market: fresh, seasonal, and regional. Marche is committed to using only those ingredients that are at their best, so our menu evolves as we move through the seasons of the year. Marche also believes in using the highest quality and most healthful ingredients available and to that end use organic, free range, and chemical free products. The culinary technique is French-based: intensely flavored and simply but beautifully presented.

    We had the most delicious and delightful brunch since the beginning of the pandemic. We were returning from a trip to S.W. Oregon and we’re about 2 hours from Eugene. While my husband was driving I did a search of places we could have brunch or lunch in Eugene on a Sunday. There happened to be the last opening at 1:30 and I took it. We had mimosas and shakshuka and beignets. Prompt nd attentive service! Our ballet and pastry loving service was such a delight that her energy was contagious. Can hardly wait to return-might even drive down from Portland just for brunch at Marche!

    Each time we visit Marche, the food and service are excellent. Our server Phillip was an informative guide, and the Hangar Steak, and Halibut were both delicious delights. We look forward to our next visit with high expectations. Jim W

    The food was excellent, our waiter was very friendly, and the ambience was great. Some corners of the restaurant are noisy with the kitchen and other utensil or drink stations, but I would definitely go here again.

    The food and service were first-rate once again. Another first-rate improvement was the addition of a current screen at the entrance doors; this reduced the cold air that floods in over customers sitting at tables near the 2 doors. A much-appreciated ambiance improvement. Frank in Eugene, OR

    Excellent service and food. Love the portion sizes- they’re reasonable and allow you to try different items vs being giant portions that seem to be the norm in many places. We shared the cauliflower with harissa yogurt and salads, along with main dishes and desserts and everything was perfect.

    I have been to Marché many times, so you will definitely want to go there again and again. In my party of three, we all had steak/frites. (And I had some delightful oysters to start.) The steak just melts in your mouth. Two of us had amazing cocktails. Then we split three desserts, and they were all delicious and incredibly flavorful. Our waitress was excellent and attentive. My only issue with Marché is the noise level. It gets really loud in there, which is problematic for my 90-year-old mother. We had a glorious meal, and I will definitely be going back.

    Everything was great with one complaint the food came out Luke warm …all of it from the soup to the sides to the steak. Flavorful food, great service, beautiful atmosphere was shaded by warm food.

    We actually had reservations at King Estate winery and they decided to be closed for a few more weeks in the winter. I asked for a recommendation from them as we were visiting from CO. Marché was recommended and this didn’t disappoint. My husband enjoyed the oysters and I had the beet salad. Both wonderful! We of course had to purchase the baguette. Not exactly sure why they charge for this. There was a delay for our entrees and they apologized for this with a charcuterie board, very kind but didn’t want to ruin my appetite for my main course. The trout was delightful and my husband’s pork was just done so nicely and had a very slight smoked flavor. We ended with a complimentary Pot de crème, very good. All in all we were impressed with our meal and service.

    The cocktails with our appetizers were so good; the gin hot toddy is my new favorite thing. Oysters were 10/10, and we also tried the bone marrow dish; the fresh herb salad and toasted baguette it's served with was the perfect combo. Also our server team gave a spot-on wine pairing recommendation for my entrée. They also very graciously tailored my entrée to accommodate my food allergy and it was super delicious (trout).

    Marche is my favorite restaurant. I've never really had one before - no matter where we lived. Not in LA, Phoenix, Raleigh. They have the best service I have ever had anywhere. And that includes four star restaurants in NYC and LA on business trips. Everyone there is wonderful. The food i spectacular in terms taste and presentation.

    The fried oysters are amazing, as is the trout. The truffle linguini was flavorful but a bit heavy. The chocolate cake with raspberry sauce was amazing! I have eaten here several times and highly recommend the Portabella sandwich. A bit on the higher side for price.

    One of my fav places. Oysters were the best I’ve ever had. Cocktails were perfect service was quick. Steak frites were also fabulous and the mussels? Omg. Dessert was very disappointing Baba u rum tasted old, had sat in too sweet of liquor which gave the cake a mealy taste and texture…waiter was also great. They took off dessert
