   We were celebrating a birthday and had brought some wines that needed special handling. Our server was very well informed and gave us excellent advice. He treated each bottle cautiously. We really appreciated that. We had indicated that we weren’t in a hurry so that may be why he disappeared for awhile and our food was very slow coming from the kitchen. It was all delicious, though, especially the radish tartine and the soufflé. One of the guests had to take her pizzeta in a box because she can’t drive after dark. Other than that, all was super.

   Excellent food but unbelievable service. One of our guest has iliac disease and our waiter worked with her to come up with an excellent meal. Definitely will dine again

   Disappointing Halibut- overcooked. At $35/plate I expect perfection and more than 5 meager pieces of vegies. My boyfriend ordered a plum flavored bitter soda. It tasted like cheap bubble gum. We sent it back and it was only then that the waiter mentioned the drink tastes like that. One would think the waiter would warn us.

   We probably have eaten at Marche twice a month for the last 10+ years; that says something about how much we value the Marche's food and service. Marche varies its menu from season to season so you have options for new menu choices rather than the same-old, same-old items time after time. The steak frites is always a nice fallback choice. The seasonal pasta is a welcome change. The sauce for the mussels changes with the seasons. The current green-garlic sauce is exceptionally fine. Service, as always, is friendly, Knowledgeable, and attentive but not intrusive; also good at taking pictures! We highly recommend the Marche. Frank & Mary in Eugene, OR

   Disappointing...yet again. We've dined here many times, but we've noticed that our past few visits were not without something being off. We've noticed a decline in the hosting, service, and food. We always make reservations through Open Table; this time we were seated directly under the AC; it was like sitting in a wind tunnel. We asked for one of the nearby vacant booths, but were told they were "reserved!!" On the positive side the patio is open but was full when we arrived. We won't be going back for a while in hopes that things improve. We'll try again next year.

    The food and service were wonderful. Unfortunately, there was a large party with children that were running everywhere, spilling food and the parents did not care. I felt very sorry for the servers and other staff. This also affected other diners who were trying to enjoy a lovely meal. If you do not want to teach your children how to behave, don't dine out. I do not blame the children at all. 100% the parents.

    Great food and service. We have the linguine with crab and an amazing gazpacho for which we begged for the recipe! Highly recommended despite a pretty high noise level.

    Food was fine, unfortunately we had a really poor server. She insulted us thru out the meal. The manager was not helpful either. I have come to this place many times but after my experience last evening I will take my business elsewhere.

    I think servers should get rated on how well they serve a solo diner. In this one experience, I noticed a lack of service, while the server paid excellent attention to couples and groups. Nothing was cleared from my table (empty cocktail glass; empty bread plate); I had to ask for sugar, a straw several times. This is not typical of Marche but it suggests that servers not discount or overlook service when one diner is present. I left a generous tip, despite my disappointment, in hopes that the server remembers the number of diners at their table doesn’t correlate to the size of the tip.

    All three of us had an outstanding meal at what is, without question, Eugene's preeminent restaurant. Add in a truly professional waiter and it makes me wonder why we ever go to any other restaurant in this town.

    Marche is the kind of French restaurant every U.S. city needs. It offers a nice smattering of classic French dishes like mussels and frites, duck breast, etc., as well as others that you might find in any upscale U.S. restaurant. Quality ingredients and spot-on preparations, with interesting flavor profiles. Save room for dessert. Reasonably priced for the quality and professional service.

    The wait staff is awesome....treating us like we were the only patrons for the night. Attentive, kind, and informative, with an air of professionalism that defines a solid dinner restaurant experience. Overall our food was exceptional, but I would have enjoyed seeing crab in the Crab Linguini - it was vaguely present.

    It was my birthday and they knew it was. At the end of dinner they did not bring out a complimentary dessert to celebrate. Both my sister and I thought that a bit odd. So, we stopped on our way home a bought a little cake, put a candle in it, and I made a wish.

    The odd ingredients in the soup always make among the best soup ever. Coconut and cauliflower soup sounds strange but was wonderful! Trust Marche soup. Spring salads included asparagus and spring pea, two salads, both well made and delicious. We split the crab pasta dish, also wonderful. Our very young waiter was pleasant earnest and quick. He looked about 12 but must be 21 since he brought us our drinks! Great food, great service, great venue. You come too!

    Marche has slipped since the last time we ate there. The menu was uninspiring, the entrees were flat, and the waitress mixed up two steak orders - one medium well, the other well done. It is not the place it used to be. Come for happy hour and appetizers and skip the entrees.
