Always great food. Beautiful patio dining.
Not that accommodating. Service wasn’t all that good. Food was better than average.
Nice ambiance. Dinner date with a special someone. We had the squid Ink seafood pasta and the mushroom truffle pasta. Felt the piétinons were not consistent but very nice flavors. Service was on point.
Second time we have been to Marcellino's and it was even better than the first visit. Highly recommend one of the special fresh pasta dishes. All were terrific. The seafood options were a little light on the seafood but wonderfully prepared. I had the parpardelle with lamb ragu which was especially delicious. Reasonably priced wine list of decent wines.
Wonderful! Recommend for all sorts of occasions. We absolutely love this restaurant and would suggest anyone to go there for a fancy outing.
Excellent authentic Italian food. Much more to choose then what is Joan on the menu. The homemade pasta’s of the day were fantastic
It is a beautiful restaurant with tremendous food. It is one of our favorite restaurants in The Scottsdale area. It’s a great location.
Always superior. I had the salmon and friend had shrimp. Both were full of flavor. Started with a salad with red peppers and olive oil. Delicious!! Added a very nice Malbec.
very good food and service, we recommend this place
Great outdoor seating with music. Homemade pasta excellent.
Great food, Homemade pasta, the service is outstanding.
This was my first time here. Everything about my visit was fantastic!
This place will be in my regular rotation going forward.
We ate here while on vacation with our young teens. We enjoyed exceptional service, and amazing food.
Was recommended this restaurant as it has been around for some years and decided to have dinner with friends there.
The environment is lovely. Clearly a classy place and has nice decor.
There was a band playing (which was too loud) and we found it difficult to have conversation at a normal volume. We did have to speak quite loudly throughout dinner to hear each other.
The food was good although my wife did not enjoy her meal at all. Was a little cold and tasteless.
I had the osso bucco which was very good. The others had the same and the lamb ragout, which they bother loved also.
Wine list is pure Italy which is nice and the desserts were good, but over priced for the size of the servings.
Overall, a reasonable dining experience.
Insane good, one of the best resturaunt meals I've ever had!!
It is always a special occasion when we get to dine at Marcellino. We live in NC & every time we come to Arizona we save a night to have dinner here. Food is always outstanding & we even were serenaded by Sima. Great night all around.
Food and service were excellent. Our server Marco was extremely attentive. We were celebrating our 48th wedding anniversary and he brought us complimentary cordials.
Service was lack luster
The server was not friendly, bordering rude. Did not explain the restaurant did not try to explain or encourage us to try appetizers or anything. I asked for a variation on a entree she looked at me like I was crazy and said I doubt the chef would make pasta with just olive oil instead of a tomato sauce. I travel extensively and eat at many nice restaurants , never has this happened. By the way the chef had no issues doing this. The food was not just good - but outstanding!!! Too bad server was poor or this was a 5 star night . Would have been nice if a manager was greeting tables , I would have spoken up.
This is my favorite place to go for Italian. Chef Marcellino always prepares an amazing meal. I recommend his specials. Very unique. You will wish you found this place sooner.
Absolutely amazing and authentic food. You will think you are in Italy. Paula was fantastic and I will give it a ten!!! Will definitely go back when we return.
The food was not worth the price as nothing stood out and made you think, "wow, this is fine dining." Girlfriend has made dishes at home that taste much, much better. I'm sure people enjoy the food, but it simply did not stand out as fantastic Italian cuisine. It was, in fact, very bland.
The "sheet" that drapes on the ceiling is pretty gross. My date and I almost requested moving our seat outside because it just seemed dirty and unwashed. We felt bad leaving our waiter, though, as we had already ordered.
It's absolutely wonderful and seriously expensive pasta. It just adds up quick with apps, drinks and wine, so we don't go often.
That said we do love it.
Great as always
We have loved Marcellino and the food was always outstanding. In fact, it had been our favorite Scottsdale restaurant. This time, however, our experience was different. Unfortunately we came on a Thursday night when they had live music inside the restaurant. There was a singer, three musicians, one with drums. The noise level was off the charts which actually made the whole experience excruciating. We had told our friends so much about this restaurant but unfortunately all anyone wanted to do was rush through their meal and get out. It was a truly painful experience. My recommendation to the restaurant would be to only have live music outside, if at all. Conversation was absolutely impossible. In fact our server had to wait to be able to speak to us in between songs or during a break. This made the service less than stellar, to say the least. Not sure if we will be back.
Great food!! Great service! Best authentic Italian food!!
Restaurant looks old school Italian, but the cuisine is anything but. Excellent and creative home made pastas.
The food and ambiance at Marcellino's were fantastic. Would highly recommend!
Lousy service...unfriendly, slow ...bad combination
Were there 45 min before wine arrived
Probably better options in the area
Been going there for 13 years....
Great fresh pasta made daily. Sauce like I had never had before. We sat outside on a beautiful March evening. This was an excellent meal. Don’t order off of the menu. Wait for the daily specials.
My husband and I have eaten here a couple of times. The food is absolutely delicious. Very good service. Highly recommended. A great place for a special occassion.
We discovered Marcellino on our last visit to Scottsdale. We loved it then, and our return visit did not disappoint. The food is excellent, the service prompt and courteous. The room has a nice ambience, and the live music is a plus (although some might find it a little loud for relaxed dining). It's now a must each time we visit.
Our second time back. Excellent pasta superb
Will be back. Also love the atmosphere and live music which was not overpoweringly
Great location and food!
The food once served was great, the load music from the Mexican place next door not so great. Expensive for pasta dishes and wine list overpriced.. Service slow but it’s downtown Scottsdale during Cactus League season? Locals find better away from the crowd. All the food however, well presented and prepared.
I was the first to arrive for my dinner reservation and was sat promptly by a nice hostess. After about 20 minutes my wife and parents arrived and a different hostess directed them to my table, according to both of them, she was quite terse with her directions and they didn't feel welcome at all.
I eventually ordered the appetizer Gamberi e Feta, which turned out to be (2) shrimp on a 4" square of feta cheese, not worth the $20 price.
My father ordered the Scaloppine al Gorgonzola, which is veal, but felt the "creamy Gorgonzola sauce" was a stretch as it was more watery than creamy. He also ordered a rum and coke that took just over 15 minutes to arrive.
We also watched as our server lost a 5 top table that only ordered wine; for whatever reason, they walked out.
I attempted to order the Cacio e Pepe (which included grilled onion and sliced tomato, which is NOT how it is made in Rome at all though this chef is alleged Italian) when I asked the server if I could have the onion and tomato removed, she said no, the chef won't change the food for you, patted me on the hand, and told me to order something else. I admit I was flabbergasted. I then ordered a Filet Mignon con Tartufo that ended up having the most bitter, astringent wine reduction I've ever had, and the mashed potatoes were tasteless. $43.00 waste of time and money.
My wife ordered the Salmone in Crosta di Porcini Con Cognac e Porri where she found the fish was fine, but again the mashed potatoes were cold and tasteless and the vegetables consisted of (3) carrot sticks and (2) cucumber sticks. $29.00 sort of well spent if you count the fish was tolerable.
I must add that Thursday's are live music nights. And the singer is atrocious, to say the least, she's flat, nasally, and LOUD. It is impossible to hold a decent conversation with your table.
Our server was beyond put out that we refused to order dessert, tossed the check on the table and stalked away. $165 meal that sucked and was NOT Italian IMO
