This was an excellent restaurant. The ambience is warm and friendly. The staff are very attentive and knowledgeable. We sat at the bar for dinner and it was great. The cocktails are excellent. The food is amazing. One of the best restaurants I have ever been to. From their locally source produce to the home made pastas, it was truly an unbelievable meal.
Everything was wonderful. The staff, food, atmosphere, menu, wine. Thank you for the wonderful experience.
Superb food and service! Definitely some of the finest Italian food we've eaten in Phoenix.
Food was very good, but over priced. Wait staff was ok.
Great atmosphere and service. Unfortunately, the food is mediocre. We ordered two dishes of pasta and both were pretty bland. Maybe it was an off day? At least the wine helped. Would try it again.
Great home made pasta's. Fabulous desserts. If you like authentic Italian food,, then you will like Marcellino's.
Rebooked again for future date. Only request would be for live singer to sing softer. So loud that guests started talking over live music and entire ambience was very very loud. Could barely carry on a conversation with my wife across the table.
Excellent ambiance, handcrafted authentic Italian food, romantic, live music... I celebrated my birthday Saturday night and had a great time and great food. Our waitress was excellent and friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu and wines and chef Marcellino and Sima came to our table and spoke with us! I would highly recommend Marcellinos!
Truly one of the best meals I have ever experienced. The mussel appetizer was sublime~ the broth exquisite, we wanted to dip a loaf of bread in it! I had the lamb ragout on pappardelle and
ate every last bite ~ amazing!
This place offers very authentic Italian cuisine in a comfortable, upscale setting. The service is excellent, sophisticated, and friendly. We were impressed by the fresh-made pasta specials, and the ones we had were fantastic. I would definitely recommend this place for a romantic dinner or special occasion.
Pricey but worth it
Pasta is to die for
Meats are excellent quality
Food is excellent
Singer way too loud...made any conversation a strain. Decided to go home to bring in the new year . Disappointed.
Took the wife out for an early night New Years dinner. Food was good as usual. Service was fantastic...but a little disappointed in the prices being jacked up beyond normal. I guess that is what happens on NY. $15 for a dessert is pretty absurd. We always enjoy the atmosphere so we will back.
The singer was not enjoyable at all and we could not talk and hear each other because of the music and singer
Service was inconsistent. Food was average. Prices were high, not qualities of a pleasant experience.
Absolutely fabulous food! I finally found the place that is better than any of the restaurants I visited in Italy!
Fresh pasta to please! Delightful experience. Rarely is there an "Italian" restaurant in Scottsdale that comes close to what you experience in east coast Italian strongholds, but this does a real good job with an upscale flair on traditional Italian fare.
Okay; nothing overly special. If you use price as a variable, then it is quite disappointing.
The polenta/mushroom starter was a very poor dish. It lacked any flavor, was gritty and just not good.
Our main meals of branzino and veal chop were quite good; the sides were pathetic and just made no sense for such nice main meat/fish dish....some boring, tasteless mashed potatos and 4 measly vegetables.
Service was satisfactory. However, I was a bit upset that the prices of the specials of the day were not clearly articulated. It was quite a shocking surprise to see the price of the veal chop I had when the bill was brought to the table. Going to the value portion of this meal, that dish was in no way worth the price paid. So while it was good, I walked away upset and disappointed.
We certainly will not be back anytime soon. Too many places which don't gouge customers and provide solid value.
Great atmosphere, entertain and food. Will be back
Stopped in for my anniversary dinner. The homemade pasta was dry and bland. It needed salt. However, the pork loin was very good, though I'd have expected the pasta to be the plate of choice.
This restaurant was highly recommended and it lived up to all that was said about it. Food and service were outstanding!
We visited Marcellino Ristorante with another couple for the first time and found the food and service to be excellent. We loved the fresh pasta and the different sauces were very flavorful but not heavy. The prices are expensive but the ambiance is very nice. This is a special occasion restaurant for us
Extremely poor service. Also, avoid the pasta specials. They are pre-cooked.
Pasta, Oh My! Marcellino's is a wonderful place for a special dinner. It is expensive so go prepared. The attention to detail is amazing from the attentive wait staff to the very creative food. It is authentic Italian but don't go expecting spaghetti and meatballs or chicken parmesan. The menu is much more thoughtful than that. Once seated, our waiter brought over a tray of the day's fresh house-made pasta selections. These are off the menu and change often. My wife started off with the fresh lentil soup. It was rich and wonderfully seasoned. I had the house made mozzarella wrapped in prosciutto and served over a thick tomato slice. For our entrée we chose to share the beef tenderloin tortellini and the lamb dish. The tortellini was tender served with a marinara sauce that went perfectly. The lamb was amazing; tender, rustic and so well seasoned, a truly spectacular dish. The wine list is Italian and has excellent sections from the moderately priced to the truly spendy. Dessert was the only area where the meal fell short, though mostly due to the fact that everything else was superb. We ordered the Apple Galetta topped with a Hazelnut gelato. The galetta is sliced green apples over a crisp puffed pastry. When it arrived it had the consistency of a soggy pancake. It had good flavor but I was expecting more of a crustada or something with light crispy texture. Our first cup of coffee arrived cold and bitter. The waiter replaced it with two Americano's but they did not have much flavor. The gelato, however met the standard of the rest of the meal. When we go back we will try the tiramisu and see it the results are better.
Best pasta outside of Italy!
Food and service were outstanding , the restaurant is a beautiful space, unfortunately we did not know they had live music on weekends. Others seemed to be enjoying the singer, I'd say check the restaurant website to see if this is your thing , it wasn't ours and really detracted from the evening.
Looking for good Italian in Scottsdale and found it.
Great birthday dinner at Marcellino. Great food, great service, and great atmosphere.
We have always had excellent food here. Not your usual Italian food and service has always been friendly.
Great food and music Would be 5 stars but the wine is over priced
