Great food. Service was a little slow but, in hindsight, paced just right to have an enjoyable evening outside. COVID protocols were observed and appreciated. Highly recommend.
As first time diners celebrating my wife’s birthday, we had an AMAZING dinner at Marcellino! Everything from the taste, quality, presentation, service, ambience and even Covid precautions were impeccable. Our Server, Marco, did a fantastic job presenting the specials for the evening and helping me select the right dish for my enjoyment. I had one of the nightly specials which consisted of a daily house made pasta with lobster chunks, mushrooms and white truffle oil and it was delicious. My wife really enjoyed one of the other special that was also fresh made fettuccine, butter, white cream sauce and loaded with big chunks of white truffle. We dined in the main dining room that was clean, had great lighting, refined decor, not too noisy and was very relaxing. We will sit outside next time for the patio dining that looked so inviting and reminded us of the restaurants and cafes we’ve dined at in Italy. We were very impressed and will definitely be back!
Everything was absolutely wonderful! Their homemade pasta is to die for. Definitely go!!!!!
Great people and great food. Highly recommend and will return.
Friendly wait staff and excellent food. A bit on the high side of $$$$, but for a special occasion would be a strong consideration.
Exceptional service with excellent food.
My friend was supposed to meet me but she had to cancel. I decided to go solo, as I had never eaten there and was curious. I love Italian cuisine, and the menu was impressive. The service was friendly and attentive. I had a lovely table outside in the corner, where I could view the activity around me and enjoy the lights and greenery.
My meal was outstanding and I had a really enjoyable time. I felt like I was back in Italy, which is one of the happiest feelings I could have. I plan to bring my husband there next week!
Consistently great food and great service. Fabulous pasta.
We had a very nice experience! Pleasant hostess who sincerely welcomed us and conversed with us. Brought us to lovely outdoor table for two. Our waiter was well-informed, welcoming and charming.
Took my wife here for our anniversary. Great spot, great food and great service. You really can’t go wrong going here. It’s not cheap, but quality never is nor should it be. 100% recommended.
Wonderful evening with great food and service.
Beautiful restaurant and great food .
Great, really great food, ambiance and service! Premium price on food, but you don’t get that flavor anywhere, certainly not where we live. Worth every penny to us! Can’t wait to get back
Excellent. Had a very meal and excellent wait staff
I loved the live music and ambience. I wasn’t a fan of the filet stuffed pasta. I thought I tasted like canned ravioli but the lobster/mushroom truffle pasta was outstanding. Overall it was a nice experience. Nothing beats fresh pasta
Amazing handmade pasta. Perfect al dente with amazing sauces
Service friendly and professional. Will always go back
Excellent! Tyler (I think) was excellent.
First of all, I will say that the food, service, and ambience was outstanding. All of the staff we came in contact with was extremely courteous. We started with the Carpaccio appetizer which for $18 was not a good value, only 2 small pieces of beef, but delicious anyway. My wife had the Paccatelli al Ragu Salsiccia which was very good. I had the Zuppa de Pesce which was flavorful and cook perfectly. Since my dish did not come with pasta, I asked about a side order and was told that it would be an additional charge of $15.00 which is just ridiculous in my opinion so I abstained. This is the reason I gave it only 4 stars for value. Overall, a nice place for a casual dinner out.
I had the veal, very, very small portion for $35
Best italian food ever.
Another excellent experience at Marcellino’s Ristorante. We return to places we really enjoy for the quality of the food and service and Marcellino’s is one we frequent. Unfortunately, we were locked down for close to 6 months but 2 weeks ago we had our 1st night out for fine dining and this was our choice then and 2 weeks later we returned.
We usually default and order the specials as they are always outstanding but this time we decided to have a meal from the menu and we were not disappointed.
The Caprese Salad with good tomatoes and mozzarella asa starter was a good choice. My wife has the fettuccine Contadina with fresh tomato and asparagus which was very good and I had the Paccatelli with a ragu of tomato and sausage which I thoroughly enjoyed. Panna Cotta for dessert is impossible for my wife to resist. I was satisfied with the wine by the glass, a Barbera, fairly priced. The wines by the glass are good and fairly priced.
If you’ve never been to Marcellino’s I’d highly recommend if you go to order a special although a premium price they are well worth it but the regular menu is also fresh pasta and you’ll have a meal to enjoy.
Obviously, we are fans of the Chef and his staff and will be returning. My granddaughter in college called us to ask if we’d take her there again when she comes home for the holidays. She’s an athlete as well as academic and is a foodie who has enjoyed Marcellino’s in the past knowing the food is fresh and healthy as well as delicious.
Thanks for an enjoyable night, Chef. And thanks to Robert for good care and service.
Absolutely fabulous as always!! This is was our first time back since the shut downs in March and we weren't disappointed. This was also our first (and certainly not the last) time we went to Marcelino's for dinner rather than lunch. Service was impeccable and friendly (Robert was great)!! My veal was wonderfully tender and the gorgonzola sauce was just right. My wife and adult son (a classically trained chef) both had pasta dishes which they remarked were among the best they'd had in the Valley--comparing it favorably to several high end Italian restaurants we dined at in the 90's in Manhattan, NYC where we lived for eight years during the 1990's. All in all a wonderful experience, we will definitely be back. Thank you!!
This was our first time at this restaurant and we all were very impressed and very pleased with the food selections and quality and the overall experience
Pasta made in-house and everything is done from scratch. We ordered from the pasta plate rather than ordering off the menu. It was excellent and this restaurant soared to the top of our all time favorites list.
Bringing a dose of reality to this restaurant. The chef deserves to know that the "idea" of what one has become due to one's circumstances (James Beard recognition, $$$$ prices, magazine articles &Scottsdale status) has, INDEED, come to full fruition.... but the end result is not terribly pleasing in actuality to people who truly love Italy, it's food and it's integrity.
Our food bill averaged roughly $95 per person, and while this is what I often to expect to pay at restaurants, I expect two things for that price: Excellent and abundant food & wine and perfect service in an ambient, elegant atmosphere. We DID get exceptional & professional service and were treated very kindly. Your carpaccio di manzo and buffalo mozerella apps are a joke and you are doing food lovers a huge disservice by charging for such meager offerings offered as "elegant" presentations. The beef was "overcooked" in acid and pitiful. Three of us each only got two TINY bites. Where's the fairly priced, seasonal PLATTER one gets in Firenza, covered in glorious, raw beef and fresh arugula? Yours was pathetic. Offering one ravioli as a 1st course pasta (dividing the app among us, as the waiter suggested) is NOT what we had in mind!! Give me a break. The halibut was unfortunate, overcooked, thin and small. My husband left starving, and partly because the starters were so paltry. Your biscotti isn't good. Crisp, but flour heavy and lacks flavor. We loved pasta but, while fresh, it was just "okay". My parpardelle skimped on lamb and seasonings and you had the nerve to charge $46 for it. Get over yourselves. Pasta is cheap, I don't care if an angel sent from heaven is kneading the dough and your rolling pin is solid gold. Sheesh. The quality IS there---SO DO SOMETHING SPECTACULAR with it that has integrity and FEED us. SATISFY us. I don't care who you are--the drunken party buses still pass by out front. You are not special. I WANT YOU TO DO BETTER...because I want to go back for one more chance...
It was ok, overpriced.
Service and food were amazing! We loved to celebrate our anniversary at Marcellino, definitely recommended. We will be back.
Overpriced .. but it’s Scottsdale. Ordered off Restaurant Week menu which I’m guessing they hate because the portions were miniscule.
Food was fine .. good service.
As is always our experience at this uncommonly fine restaurant, everything was perfect. We highly recommend your trying Marcellino’s if you have not yet treated yourself to its delectable menu offerings and its most attentive staff. BRAVO AND THANK YOU!
The Food (house made pasta, etc) is excellent as is the service and atmosphere. Even the parking is convenient.
Delicious food, but very restrictive. No substitutions nice part of town.
The food was absolutely delicious. My wife and I are still raving about it.
we've been coming to marcellino's restaurant since it was on northern. food is awesome. we love the outside dining and felt very comfortable bc its well spread out. it beautiful and quite fun. after dinner, the vin santo was unreal (better than port!)
Good overall experience - service was decent - a bit slow at times - pace was off, got appetizers, then waited quite a bit for next course. Waiter was friendly and accommodating.
On the food - pasta was amazing and appetizers were very well done - got shrimp and scallops along with tortoloni and ravioli. The only complaint/observation - The filet mignon Tortolonni and red sauce tasted just like Chef Boy R Dee from a can. It was a good taste, but couldn’t get it out of my head.
The environment was a bit loud, however with multiple tables removed...maybe just an echo.
We will be back - just will not get the beef tortoloni.
Food is fresh and very tasty. I've been here 4 times now and every dish is delicious. Fresh pasta of any kind is recommended. The waiter was great at spreading out the courses. We were there for 3 hours and never felt rushed. Marcellino's is top quality.
Our food was delicious as always. We had dinner on the patio and it was a beautiful evening and a wonderful experience.
Good food. Great ambience. Service was just ok. Would be a good place for happy hour.
Everything was delicious! We shared a couple bottles of wine and pastas. It was a great experience.
Well, I already wrote a long review and lost it. 🙄. Our 1st fine dining meal in 6 months. Marcellino’s could not have been anything but the best choice for us. Were seated distanced and away from traffic. All of the protocols for virus safety were followed.
Our meal was excellent. My wife had the spinach and ricotta ravioli in a light butter sauce. Excellent as demonstrated by her clean plate when done. 1st dinner she didn’t cook in 6 months made it great. I had the Portofino, a rosemary infused fettuccine with shrimp and scallops in a spicy tomato sauce. It too was excellent. Our starter shared was a mozzarella wrapped in prosciutto on fresh tomatoes with balsamic vinaigrette. While very good my favorite is still a caprese salad. My wife finished with a Panna Cotta which was delish and an espresso. I was comped biscottis with whipped cream and a candle. Wine by the glass were good choices and fairly priced. All in all an excellent evening.
Compliments to the Chef and staff. We’ll return for outdoor seating in a week or so. Grazie molto. 😊
