Waited a few minutes for a reservation that we had for weeks. However, our waitress was spectacular! Food very good & came out hot which is fantastic! Have dined here many times!
Rigatoni and the giant meatball were spectacular. Our server took great care of us.
Thank you Rodney for making my birthday so special.
Service was great-our waiter was a delight, atmosphere
was great as usual. I had the ravioli quadatrini-it was delish. Husband rwy enjoyed his pizza. Others liked their fettuccine and gnocchi. I took one star off cause our arugula salad that we split was so tiny it was like one leaf per person. Our other two friends got soups which were less expensive than our salads but they were huge bowls. Don’t really get it.
Food was good……Service was good…. Small
We were late bc of the football game but they held our table and we’re very accommodating. Service was great.
We love Marcella’s and it is a must stop for us every time we come in from Canton. The food is out of this world especially calimarie and the fettuccini and meatball.
Our server Cody was great and we love the fact that they gave us our own carafe of iced tea.
We highly recommend this place
The worst place in Columbus to dine AND have a conversation. It was our 20 year anniversary and I could not hear anything my family said to me. The noise level is unbearable and left me with a headache. Sad my experience did not meet my expectation.
The food was delicious and service excellent. Another bonus is that I did not realize it was happy hour, so some of my food was half price. What a deal.
From the moment we walked in the service was excellent. The food was very good. Our waitress was patient and helpful. We will definitely be back!
Hello, my wife and I dined there Wednesday, 9/15, at 7 pm and wanted to provide some feedback. With the labor shortage, my guess is that you might be understaffed, however, we seemed like an afterthought to our waitress. When she came over she always had another table's dishes in her hand and asked us what we wanted. We saw other waiter staff taking time to discuss specials, etc with their tables. That certainly didn't happen for us. At the end of the meal, the waitress asked my wife if she wanted a receipt and was clearly expecting her to say no and was flummoxed and had a hard time producing one.
The quality of our dishes was also not worth the price we paid for them. The carbonara was not made correctly because the chef cracked an egg on top of it rather than cooking the egg to a point to make a creamy texture but not to the point of scrambling the egg. I had chicken parmesan which the chicken was done well, however, I would say both sets of noodles, my wife's and my own, were overcooked.
My wife's white wine came in a nice carafe however she was given a regular drinking glass to drink it from and not a simple wine glass. Even Olive Garden (which I loathe) gives you a wine glass to drink your wine from.
Lastly, the place was too overcrowded. Maybe it is our own personal anxiety, but we definitely didn't feel like Marcella's cared about operating their restaurant safely as the whole place felt like everyone was on top of each other. We were given a table at the back of the house against the wall the bar is on and placed directly next to tables and it was clear that although you have a wear a mask to enter the building, the only masked individuals were the staff. We understand you have to take a mask off to eat, but I think you might alleviate some concern if you space people out more.
This place is just not worth going to. The atmosphere is mediocre, the tables are small and too close together, the service is kinda slow. The wine menu is needlessly obtuse. The music they played is just not a good match for the environment.
The food is also SO POOR. The prices are outrageous for the portions and the quality. I have cooked chicken that was less dry, bland, and rubbery at home. The food is also incredibly bland. They try and say they have a wonderful scratch kitchen, and maybe they should go back to the drawing board on their recipes.
I’d rather go to Olive Garden for the same quality food at lower prices and with bigger potions.
Highly recommend…excellent food, service, beverage menu…this is a MUST go to restaurant.
Great meal and service! Authentic Italian and well done by the entire staff!
One of our favorite places in the Short North! Dinner was delicious, service was on point. Love the ambiance.
I've been to better Italian restaurants, wine bars, and gastro lounges and it seems Marcella's doesn't know which one it wants to be. The spot is packed wall to wall like a lounge which on a Friday night isn't a bad thing as the surprisingly modern music plays just loud enough to feel bass, treble, and hear lyrics, but not a volume where conversation is obstructed. If I was stopping by for drinks, this would be perfect with the lowlight and the energy in the room. However, the food left a lot to be desired once we ventured beyond the delicious calamari appetizer. The entrees left a lot to be desired with little inventiveness or flavor in the mix, at all. The wine list was equally uninspired with what I suspect to be vinos just barely elevated from bulk table wine. Little care was made to make pairing suggestions and my palette disagreed with each bite and sip. Come for the ambiance and some small plates/cocktails while you wait for your reservation at a better spot.
Food was fantastic! Very lively atmosphere! Prices were reasonable. We'll be back.
Absolutely amazing. Would highly recommend.
Marcella’s is one of the best spots on Short North for dinner. If in town for game, we made a rsvp for dinner. Seated on patio was comfortable yet lively. The pasta dishes never disappoints. Get your comfort food fix.
Waiter was excellent.
Always great food and the staff are great and helpful
Great food, great service, great ambience. They were able to accommodate our many special requests, including a dish that wasn't even on the menu. This has become my go-to spot for both family and professional evenings out. Highly recommended!
The dinner was great. We both had the eggplant parmasean and it was delicious. Our waiter was attentive, made suggestions, and did a great job as well.
Always a great experience at the short north location. The server was amazing. I wish I could remember her name. The entire staff is always so friendly and welcoming. Food is always hot and fast.
Really enjoyed meal and service was very good.
Burrata appetizer was very very good. Give it a try. The ravioli in truffle oil was exceptional tonight
First time there and enjoyed the service and meal:. We highly recommend.
The food was incredible! Best Italian in Columbus! Our server (Alysia) was very friendly and attentive! Great experience. We will definitely return!
Mike our server was amazing. Every recommendation he made was wonderful. The food was exceptional and the atmosphere cozy.
Mike the waiter is 10/10! Made the experience that much better in addition to the delicious food and wine.
Food was great like always but our service was terrible. I have never had a bad service experience at a Cameron Mitchell restaurant and it was horrible. We brought friends from out of town and had to keep telling them it was not normal.
Food & service great as always!
Our food was great, the waiter ( Crystal) was terrific and knowledgeable. Only complaint is there were way too many people waiting, milling, and generally hanging out in a small space.
Everything was amazing ! The atmosphere, appetizers, cocktails, the service (Mick) and food was outstanding. Everyone In Our party raved about how fabulous everything was. Definitely one of my favorite places to eat when in Columbus.
Marcella's was packed with lots of people, with good reason: food is fantastic, so is the ambiance. Noise level loud, but meatballs, divine!
Jake was an excellent server with fantastic recommendations.
Brussels on bruschetta was delicious, arugula salad and pasta meals were too. Their meatball is tasty but way to big - I ate about 1/3 of it.
Delicious food. Started with the meatball as an app and had the long neck clam linguine as my entree, amazing.
Had a great dinner at Marcella's. My server, Jake, was fantastic...attentive, great food suggestions, and very pleasant. The veal meatball appetizer was scrumptious (thanks, Jake, for that recommendation). The entree of penna Ala vodka was flavorful. I sat in the bar area so the atmosphere was a bit loud but certainly did not detract from a wonderful experience.
Started off not so well when the host was less than pleasant when I pointed out we reserved a high top when she started to seat us at the back of the restaurant. Jake, our server, saved the evening with beyond outstanding service from beginning to end. Thanks, Jake! Food was, of course, what you expect from Marcella's; very good.
