Marcella's Italian Kitchen - Polaris Ratings and Reviews
We usually have the Gnocchi con Bolognese and this dish is consistently excellent. I believe it may be missed on the menu by many.
Our experience is very good, wait staff is well trained and attentive, food good and the wine is not overpriced.
I would say authentic Italian.
Took my girlfriend out here for dinner. Knew it would be packed given the limited reservations available and it being a Saturday night, but the waitstaff was amazing. Food was out quickly course by course, and for what you are getting, phenomenal value, Gnocchi con bolognese is amazing.
Absolutely outstanding meal! I try something different every time I come here, and everything from their gnocchi to tortellini to their meatball is delicious. Save room for dessert too, because their cannolis are phenomenal, and the fruit they come with is so delectably sweet. Their wine list is extensive, and their bottles are half off on Wednesdays! The service and ambiance were also exceptional - we will continue to come here for special occasions.
We had terrific food and our waiter was fabulous. My daughter is celiac and has fatal food allergies and she was Treated so well and had a lot of options! My only complaint is that I called and tried to add one on to our reservation and the man answering was not pleasant and was rude told me there was no way, we'd either have to only bring the 4 or cancel because we'd be in the way. My mom didn't get to come which was ashame.
Worst Dining experience ever! Reservations New Year's Eve at 4pm. Requested a comfortable seat as my husband had back surgery. When the restaurant called to confirm I was told they only have half booths. I requested the corner booth so my husband could get in and out easily. The host seated us in between 3 dining tables in the half booths that were placed very close together. There was a corner table available. We asked if we could sit there instead. The host said it was reserved for 4 people. Minutes later 2 people were seated. To our displeasure the host put us at the end table/ half booth close to the entranceway to the lounge. There was a draft, and we felt like we were seated in a busing station. Nearly every server that walked by bumped into my chair. We moved the table down and of all the empty tables in the restaurant the host seats a couple right next to us. Our tables were now inches from each other. When the manager checked on us I told him of our displeasure. I had taken two bites of my gnocchi, which was marginal at best, my husband had scraped off the coating of his veal parm. The manager said, well it looks like you enjoyed your meal?? Why does a manager ask how your dining experience is if there is no true concern? His comment was next time we will do better seating you. Not let's find a new seat and desert and coffee is on us. (THEY were not busy) Marcellas does not feel like A Mitchell's restaurant. The seating is very close, uncomfortable, food fair and service Okay plus it is expensive for Italian food. I WOULD have rated very poor but the App only allowed me to rate 2 stars or above. We will never return to Marcellas.
Always like going to Marcella's, and the drive to Polaris is worth it. The one downtown is much smaller, with a smaller menu, and much much louder - can't hear anyone who's not next to you. The Polaris location is more open, brighter, comparatively quieter (quiet for an Italian place, moderate for most restaurants), kid-friendly, and the staff are great. Always a go-to place for us.
Found Marcella's to be a nice restaurant. Was seated promptly with my reservation. Was also given a very nice table for my party of 5. Waitress was very good. She checked in with us often without being a bother. She helped with menu items. Did a nice job taking our order, and serving the meal. Food was very good from pizza for my granddaughter to entrees for the adults. Very good value considering the food and experience.
We dine here often. The food is consistently great and the service is always well trained and attentive. The salmon dish is one of our favorites, as well as any of the pizzas. The kitchen is very good at modifying any dish to a more personal favorite, so don't hesitate to ask!
Marcella’s food is always good but the service tonight was lacking. We were seated in their extra room (where private parties are held) and there was a big party in there along with us and one other table. Felt like we were intruding in their privacy. Our server had a trainee with him and took our order/brought bread fairly quickly, but then didn’t come back until my husband was almost done with his dinner. The trainee eventually came and refilled our water and asked us how the food was (clearly good since our plates were basically cleared). The server for the other random table in the room was very attentive. We saw much more of him than our server.
Food was great in flavor and portion. My only is was with seating. We were a party of two with corner seating on bench style and very comfortable. The issue was with the adjacent table, there was literally less than 24" from our table. It gave you the impression they were having dinner with us, private conversation was difficult without whispering. I would suggest more space be given in this area.
Our server went away for quite awhile and no one came to let us know if he left for the day or what happened. Another server we flagged down to see if we could get our food said our server "had an emergency" and he would be our new server. Then our initial server showed back up, no apologies or explanation as to where he was. Our wine came out after our appetizer and no water refills or inquiries if we wanted another glass of wine. Food was okay.
There were 10 of us for a birthday dinner. Service was fantastic, the waiter was very attentive but not bothersome. Appetizers and dinner were great. Our daughter had made a birthday cake for our dessert, and the waiter supplied the plates and forks---much appreciated.
