   Had reservations but waited 25 min, waited a long time for food, came with a small child and asked to have his food out ASAP but waitress forgot and Childs food came out with ours. Not ideal. Food was fine but nothing to write home about.

   We had a group of 12 plus on a very busy PHILLY "race day" and they handled the large group very well. Even had a manager or lead of some sort stop over and askedif things were going well which was so nice. Also the Sweet Potato fries are amazing.

   Our group ordered calamari and shrimp for appetizers. They were good. Between all of us we had baby back ribs, Philly cheesesteak, salmon, ginger salmon and Trout. Overall everyone really enjoyed their meals. Clean plate club at our table. I thought my trout was okay and the side was so-so.

   Just my kind of place! Reasonably priced. There were 3 of us and we all enjoyed our food very much. My shrimp was fresh and cooked perfectly. Service was great too. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area again!

   My server and the hostess were great! The ambiance is nice. I’m giving a low rating because I was seated facing the kitchen and watched one of the line cooks dig in his nose the entire time. I never saw him wash his hands or put on gloves to handle food. I was disgusted.

    I had a reservation and was seated immediately. The restaurant was at capacity seating. The waiter was very, very busy. The owner was bussing tables. The food was enjoyable but we were in a rush to be at the theater and the kitchen was slow.

    We sat outside because we had just checked out of our Air BnB and our dogs were with us so the service wasn’t the best because of that. It looked like they were super busy inside and probably under staffed as well. We were the only ones outside too so it’s understandable that the server occasionally forgot about us. It wasn’t the nicest outdoor seating for this kind of weather (no heat lamps or coverage over the tables in case of rain) however we were in a bind because the first place we made reservations wouldn’t allow dogs in their outdoor seating area so we just had to grab the first thing we could find. The food was pretty good although the price of it was a little higher than i expected. We were supposed to go to the Continental which is a more upscale Stephen Starr restaurant and it looks like the prices were about the same so that surprised me. I have been to the Continental in the past so I feel like the experience and food are definitely better there so to be paying relatively the same price for such a different experience seemed odd to me. The Marathon was decent though, and they took us at the last minute for Sunday brunch with 2 dogs so we were grateful for that.

    Food was delicious, our server was very attentive as someone in our party fell ill and couldn’t make the reservation but we ordered take out for him, and our server put the order in ahead of time because he thought the kitchen might run out. The salmon was cooked perfectly, pot pie was amazing (the puff pastry was phenomenal) and definitely recommend the blackberry margaritas!

    While I generally like the Marathon Grill, this may not have been the best choice for a large group. We had 8 people (big props to MG for accommodating our reservation request the day before) but we were all in a long row and the noise level was so loud that you could only hear the person right next to you. My fault, I should have tried a quieter restaurant. The food was okay. One of our entrees was late coming out, which is always uncomfortable for the others who want to enjoy their food while it is warm and wanting to be polite so everyone can start at once. The salads did not have enough dressing on them and no one ever came back to see if we needed anything else (or those with salads would have requested the dressing). The tomato basil soup was very good though the turkey sandwich seemed to lack any of the cranberry which it was described to have.

    Good Choice for pre-theater dinner. We had a 6pm reservation but got to the restaurant a half-hour early. Luckily, they had no trouble seating our party of two. The drinks we had were delicious. Our food was ok, nothing to write home about but filled us up. We had a wonderful hostess (Olivia) who enhanced our experience by making good recommendations, checking on us regularly, not letting dirty dishes pile up, and appeared at our table with a ready smile. I hadn't been to the restaurant in several years and typically for breakfast/lunch/brunch. It's a nice walk to/from the theater area and their menu was nicely varied. I could go again and try a different dish. Reasonably-priced compared to most restaurants in the area.

    Obviously, a popular place for lunch. Food was very tasty and served quickly. Noisy and chilly but worth the trip. Went somewhere else for a cup of coffee.

    Our family of 6 was celebrating our 17 year old’s birthday and our oldest passing her veterinary Boards. Everything was perfect. The menu satisfied all of us, including our picky 9 year old. My Moroccan salmon salad was delish (and the leftovers made a yummy breakfast the next morning). Our server, Gregg, was wonderful and gave us some great suggestions. Kids loved the chocolate lava cake for dessert, and the adults “desserted” on espresso martinis! Definitely recommend! My one disclaimer is if you’re looking for a place with zero children this might not be your answer. There were a couple other families in addition to ours on Saturday evening. However, I did take note that every single kid that was in the restaurant was so well-behaved (shout out to 2 little ones at the table next to us!!) and seemed to be enjoying it as much as the adults. My husband and I plan to go back for a date night. Oh, and since it’s on the corner of 16th and Sansom and has all glass walls it’s great for people watching and has that true city vibe.

    Solid neighborhood restaurant. What kind of food, you ask? Well a little bit of everything. Pasta, sandwiches, jambalaya, salmon. You want it, they probably have it. Being that they’re a “jack of all trades”, everything is average. Not great, not bad. Good and consistent. For starters, the pierogies were quite delicious and over perfectly sautéed onions. The chicken fingers were light, crispy, and flavorful. For entrees, the salads are massive so beware of that. The grilled soy ginger salmon was over couscous and veggies..a well rounded dish. The shrimp risotto was massive with tons of shrimp- solid dish. Good meal, kind waitress. You may not be impressed, but you’ll be satisfied here.

    We were a group of 4 having dinner. Staff is friendly but there are not enough of them. The food was ok, but hard to enjoy because one of our meals was served at least 10 minutes after the three others. It was a disappointing experience because of that.

    We had a table for 7 and the Marathon is perfect for a larger group. Food and service were fine. My only gripe was, the bathroom (only 1) was disgusting. That was a complete turn off:(

    Great food and service, plus some of the best coffee around. The only problem is that any table near the door is COLD! Outside of that, the Marathon is one of my favorite places.

    We had such a good experience . Our reservations were later, 8:00pm, and after a long day spent at the Army Navy game it was wonderful to sit down and relax. It was crowded but the staff was efficient and friendly . Loved the food selection . This was our second visit Marathon Grill and we will definitely return next time we are in Philadelphia !
