Mara’s Homemade is family owned and operated serving authentic Barbecue, Southern and Cajun cuisine. Barbecue is smoked on premise. Gulf seafood, Andouille sausage and spices are flown in from New Orleans to make traditional, authentic dishes. When not utilizing Southern products, Mara's buys local.
Live crawfish are available when in season and weather permits.
Family recipes are the staple plus new creations developed by Chef Josh.
Signature dishes include Char-grilled Oysters, Crawfish Stuffed Bread, Live Crawfish Boil and BBQ Black Peppered Shrimp.
Mara's now house grinds fresh brisket for their burgers. The hamburgers are served on pretzel buns baked daily on the premises. Turkey burgers are also available.
Homemade desserts are available daily and whole cakes and pies may be ordered to go with at least 24 hours’ notice. Mara's Homemade features a Bar with over 150 Spirits and 75 Wines

Food, as always, is great. The gumbo and grilled oysters are tremendous and who can beat their collard greens? Desserts are homemade and delicious.

We had an intimate table for two amidst a lively, civilized crowd and our food was, as always, spectacular. Grilled oysters, blackened redfish for me and a platter of meat and potatoes for my husband, with a side of jalapeno cornbread. Jack and coke in a mason jar for him, an oaky chardonnay, here. An altogether lovely --both relaxed and energizing--evening. We don't go often, but always swear we need to do take-out from here

The best way to spend Fat Tues on Long Island. Definitely the best New Orleans Food on Long Island.

Place is great! From the moment we sat down, down to the last bite of that “OH My GOD” pie. Trust me, and make room for dessert for that piece of pie. You’ll thank me later 😉. Our waitress was so friendly, food was deelish- we started with fried pickles, friend green tomatoes and hush puppies. Lord Jesus, those hush puppies. Washed them down with mint tea( fave non-alcoholic drink there). Had their mugoverall feel of the place is laid back and chill.

The food was outstanding. I had a half rack of St. Louis style. They were one of the best bbq ribs I’ve ever had. The service wasn’t great our waiter was polite and very busy but the food took an hour to come out. That being said I will be back for great bbq.
