Stake is so brilliant! Fantastic!
Wonderful food, excellent service, and a great place to share a special occasion - we really appreciated having the opportunity to be seated in the small private room for my mom’s 85th Birthday celebration, and the quality of the food and the really tremendously excellent service made it a special occasion that we will all remember fondly for years to come.
Lovely meal celebrating our anniversary with unobtrusive, helpful waitress. Expensive, but for a special dinner it was delicious. Partner ate the BBQ chicken and chocolate soufflé while I had the pork tenderloin and trio of creme brulees. Everything was scrumptious and presentation was great.
Will definitely return on every trip to Banff. Great BC seafood options.
Food was delicious, service was impeccable.
35th Wedding Anniversary
The food is really great. Worth tasting.
This is a great restaurant with fantastic food and excellent service. A table by the window will get you Mountain View’s. The signature Salmon dish was superb and the best I’ve ever had. I would definitely go back!
Great seats, comfortable. Atmosphere was quiet. Staff excellent.
Excellent food and friendly service!
Great service. Excellent food. Good atmosphere. I would definitely recommend The Maple Leaf. It is a great local restaurant with incredible food!
This was the best dinner we had in Banff. The duck was amazing.
Food and service were excellent. Lovely setting on the second floor overlooking the bustle of the streets below. Would recommend if your looking for a nice meal out in Banff
The menu on open table is incorrect for a few items. Check the restaurant website for the actual menu. Other than that, was a good meal. Portions for some meals seemed very small in comparison to others (we were a group of 5 who ordered something different for each person).
A classic Banff restaurant with goo food but somehow did not particularly excite
Everything served nice and good, the fish , salmon was cooked a little too long which was disappointing for it’s price.
Everything else was great and a good introduction to Banff
Always stop off here when visiting Banff and again fully met our expectations.
Really nice for our last night away and celebrating a special birthday for my wife. Excellent service. Reccomended.
Both entrees were overdone (salmon and short rib) and dried out. Salmon was supposedly their signature dish and was almost not edible. Food took along time and the fish may have sat under the warming lights for a long time as the plate was extremely hot as well. No excuse.
Service good, but kitchen either needs help and/or they need food runners so entrees don’t sit cooking under the warming lights.
Nice building and ambiance, but you go to eat. If the food is not right, nothing else matters.
This restaurant was recommended by a local. I wanted to show my out of town family some great Canadian food. The Maple Leaf did not disappoint. Great food, loved our service, great ambience and so on. Highly highly recommend this place to anyone
Great seat overlooking the mountains and the people on the street as this is a second floor restaurant great server, great food!,
This restaurant has a larger ego than it’s worth. And price as well. My bbq chicken was a little dry and coated with a slightly gritty and slightly sour sauce that really didn’t complement the chicken at all. The roasted potatoes were nicely done but topped with a chutney or a salsa or whatever that agin didn’t complement them at all. The broccolini was very nicely done - al dente but still warm and a bit tender. So much better than places that think al dente should be hard and crunchy.
Overall we weren’t impressed and really didn’t think the place lived up to its ratings.
Service, food and atmosphere were spot on. Lauren was a great server and knowledgeable regarding drinks! Great evening!
Great location in downtown Banff for a nice dinner. We had reservations and were promptly seated. We had a crab cake appetizer which was okay, halibut and cowboy steak dinners which were delicious and met all expectations, and we shared a trio of creme brulee which were delicious and reflected the local area. We would eat there again when in Banff.
My husband and I had been here twice in 2016. We brought our party of 7 here for dinner. It was just as good as I remembered. The service was excellent. Our waitress was very accommodating while we tried to decide on a wine. She brought several samples for us to try to help us make a decision. I always get the Maple (Sockeye) Salmon and it is great. My husband gets the cowboy steak and is always happy. The restaurant was louder than I had remembered. I would recommend the Maple Leaf for a nice dinner. It is a little expensive but worth it.
Food was awesome but is not worth the value paid
A very good experience.
Overall very good. ...a bit pricey.
Excellent menu selections and wine list. I had salmon which was moist and delicious and beautifully presented. Our waiter Jason was very welcoming and efficient. Only downside was a large family with an out of control toddler who screamed and was even allowed to walk on their table. Wait staff attempted to ask them to tone it down which helped.
The restaurant is nice environment and great first impression. The food however was very very average, over booked pasta, almost no lobster in the spaghetti lobster, onion soup very average. Told the server did nothing. Net trading on last laurels, are at sister restaurant the prior night much better in all dimensions.
When we walked in the door we felt very welcomed. Our server was outstanding and food was exceptional. Duck wings were very different and delicious. Wine selection was great. My wife had the halibut and I the signature salmon dish.
Would highly recommend when in Banff.
Very nice restaurant in the heart of Banff Alberta.
I would highly recommend booking an outing at this restaurant.
This was a special "meet the parents" occasion and we wanted to treat them to something uniquely Banff; upon reading their online menu, we quickly decided on The Maple Leaf.
Online reservation process was quick and easy. Warm greeting upon arrival, lovely ambiance and decor. Our coats were taken and hung, and we were seated upstairs in a quiet corner beside a window overlooking downtown.
Extensive wine list - I had the Spirit Hills honey wine, and it was DELIGHTFUL. My partner had the Cotes du Rhone and it was extremely appealing also.
The mains were spectacular, (allergies were graciously accommodated), everyone was thrilled with their choices; Pork Tenderloin, Beef Tenderloin, Salmon and Brome Lake Duck, respectively. I ordered the duck, and was nearly moved to tears; Attractively plated, exceptionally prepared, flavourful! Deliciously paired with a mushroom truffle risotto, grilled broccolini and a saskatoon berry compote - everything was perfectly balanced. (I also tasted my partner's beef tenderloin - excellent also!)
Portions are enough to sate, but still with room for desert! So we ordered the creme brule trios, and the hot chocolate souffle. My souffle, again, was perfectly prepared, and was served with a small dish of vanilla bean gelato. (Pro Trip: eat to the middle of the souffle and pour the hot chocolate sauce on top of the gelato!)
I don't remember our server's name, but he had a deep tan and sparkly blue eyes, (wonderful service, thank you) he was very attentive, accommodating, and made sure we had enough wine to last throughout the whole meal.
We raved all the way home! We will absolutely be making The Maple Leaf a tradition. Thank you!
A very interesting menu with lots of choices for us non red meat eaters. All the food we ordered was well cooked and perfectly seasoned. Service from Jason was exceptional, he recommended an excellent Canadian Chardonnay. Ambience was lovely in the small room to the side of the main entrance with a view of pretty and lively Banff town.
The food was amazing and our waiter was so engaging! Great conversation and lovely atmosphere. We ended up going twice in the 6 days that we were in Banff because we were so impressed with the food & service.
Excellent wine.. food meh not impressed. Have eaten there before and it has always been good. Last nights meal I’d like to forget.. will be taking a break from the leaf..
The food was very good, but it was a high end restaurant and our server was very inattentive. Even worse than that was the bar service. My husband was served a drink (which he drinks the same all the time) - when he questioned the bartender that the drink wasn’t what he ordered she very rudely said she poured from the correct bottle and then promptly ignored us. We did not make a fuss, we just had 1 drink and left. I did send an email to the manager who also has ignored us. Don’t go here if you expect customer service
Excellent and friendly service. Food was very yummy!
We ordered three kinds of alberta beef stakes.
All of them were a little too salty for us.
