Great atmosphere and good food with no pretense.
We made reservations for our anniversary at the Maple Leaf Grill. Upon arrival we were greeted very warmly and wished a Happy Anniversary. They also brought us a couple of glasses of Prosecco on the house which was a nice touch. The atmosphere was very romantic and we had a really nice view of the mountains. Overall, we thought it was really nice but the prices were a little on the expensive side for what it was. Although, the food was good we felt it was not really worth the price comparing to other restaurants in the area.
A large Restaurant with the ability to handle large groups while still providing intimacy for couples. The wine list was extensive with representation from all over the world. We had the signature maple salmon dish which was to die for. Waiter was helpful in pairing an Italian Toscana for the meal.
Annual visit as we live in UK still awesome great service and lovely food
We celebrated our anniversary. Our waitress, JACKIE, was fantastic. We had the two tier seafood platter and it was outstanding.
Food excellent. Physical structure needs improvement , needs repair: holes in drywall, lights hanging out of ceiling pot lights, needs painting update.
Great place to take visiting friends. It has a wide variety of good Canadiana food. Centrally located and great Banff decor.
The Maple Leaf is our favourite when visiting Banff! Such a great menu!
It was perfect. Always is
Excellent, overall. Great place for the 50th birthday celebration.
This was recommended by our driver Louis Normond and it did not disappoint. It was my husband's 60th birthday and he wanted a great steak which he certainly got. I had the Apple crusted pork tenderloin which melted in my mouth.
Wonderful evening. Highly recommend
The Maple Leaf is a special restaurant in a special town. Have been there 5 times and never been disappointed.
Our food was bland and certainly not worth the price. My wife couldn’t even eat her spaghetti because it was so unappealing. The server ignored us at best, and was uninterested as it appeared he had other guests with deeper wallets. We reserved a table a few days in advance but were wedged into a cold corner with barely any space to get in and out. Overall this was a complete waste of money and we would never recommend it.
It wasn’t only a main we are surprised at, one of the best meal we have ever had and wine as well. It’s a bit corny but the roast poteto I came with seafood platters was the best in my life.
Our dinner was lovely. The service was fantasic and the food was delicious. Good wine selection but could use more by the glass options
We made reservations for Valentine’s Day and the place wasn’t too busy. Service was good and pretty fast; the food was excellent. I highly recommend the bison tenderloin if you are having a steak. I would definetly go back.
The restaurant is very casual. No specials for a Valentines dinner, but the menu is good. The seafood platter is good but expensive.
My friend and I tried to consume the tier 3 seafood tower and lost. Food was great and our server Maree was fantastic.
Excellent food, best steak that I have had in a long time. Our server treated us exceptionally well. Upstairs seating is more cozier. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
great dinner, new lounge chairs very comfortable, would definitely retuen
Great service and delicious food.
Sehr gutes Essen, bekannte Gerichte neu interpretiert!
Beautiful and relaxing restaurant with Top Notch Food and service in downtown Banff!
Aside from having a great meal and our waitress being very nice, way too much else went wrong. To start with, my husband ordered a beer which they ran out of so he ordered a different beer which when he tasted it he could tell it was not what he ordered. Since he's not one to complain, he decided not to say anything until later, and when he did mention it the waitress said, you're right that's the tap next to what you ordered, the bartender must have poured from the wrong one... it was a very distinct taste so that's how he knew it was wrong. Then when it came to ordering dinner they ran out of what my husband ordered. Normally when we go out to dinner, and we go out a lot, the server tells you up front if there is anything that isn't available on the menu. So, strike 2 on things that should never happen. Strike 3 was that it took over an hour to get our meal. When we finally asked, the waitress apologized and said they had a party of 30 that they were getting meals out for. The restaurant obviously knew this in advance and should have planned accordingly by staffing up, or at least the waitress should have warned us of the delay. Lastly, while we were having dinner we got an email stating that our OpenTable reservation had been cancelled. Apparently the folks at a nearby table did not stay for dinner, and Maple Leaf cancelled our booking instead of theirs. When we mentioned the email to them, they promised to reinstate the reservation so we could get OpenTable points and do a review, but they did not. So, we had to contact OpenTable to fix the problem. Bottom line is they could have made this right or at least softened the blow by offering to buy us a drink or dessert, but other than being apologetic there was nothing to compensate for all the mishaps of the evening.
Consistently ecXcellent! We visit Banff twice a year and Maple Leaf is always on the top of our dining list. Ling COD and Alberta fillet were prepared to perfection. French onion soup was a bit unusual - topped with shredded onion rings versus cheese. - it may or may not be to your preference, not so much for us., but not a deal breaker. Excellent wine list and cozy bar. We will be back in the fall.
Extremely accommodating and amazing service from all. Food was delightful, filling and tasty. Can’t wait to come back.
Anniversary date. Loved the seafood tower!
Great food with a Canadian focus. The duck confit was best ever, with both a leg and thigh, and a boneless breast. Very extensive wine list with many Canadian choices, as well as international alternatives. Friendly staff. Center of Banff downtown. We walked from the BSH, and took a cab back.
Environmental and staff were very good. Food was ok, the issues that we had were gnocchi lacked flavor and was dry. My fish and shrimp dish had only 2 shrimp for $45 you think you would get at least 4 or give prawns. Other issue I had was the charge of $13.50 for a normal Ceasar. Only time I have ever paid that much for one was when it included shrimp, beef jerky, beans and was a double. Just today I got the same Ceasar that they had at Boston Pizza for $7.80. Might give it another try next time I'm in Banff but not really worth spending $150 for my wife and me for the food that we got.
My favourite restaurant in Banff!
The food was incredible!! Had the steak and it was melt in ur mouth! The spices on it were amazing! Love Maple leaf !!!
There for wife’s 40th birthday. Restaurant didn’t do anything special. No free drinks or desert. Restaurant didn’t even acknowledge it. Food was delicious. Staff was great.
Great as always
Service was great and the steak was amazing!
Great meal, friendly service. We enjoyed the restaurant very much.
Was a great evening out. Would go back anytime. Only negative thing to say is that the coat check was very unorganized and were given the wrong coat then left to find our own. Would be helpful to have tickets.
Service and food were amazing! If you visit Banff, go to Maple Leaf, you will not regret it!
Delicious food! I have been before but this time booked for a group of 8 and were given a private room with great ambiance and with a wonderful server. I have never enjoyed a dinner experience like this before thanks to Mari! Will be back again!
4 of us had dinner there on a Friday night and I can't say enough good things about the service and food! Loved it and we would definitely dine there again.
