We were quest at the Quirk Hotel and decided to eat, the seating was in the Lobby. Our waiter was overwhelmed with to many tables. We got our drinks and food at the same time, we ordered salmon & Rockfish the portions were very small. We asked for bread twice never got it. We actually left hungry went up to our room changes clothes and walked somewhere else and ate. I was hoping for a better experience from the restaurant.
Enjoyed the food and environment! This is an annual event for us.
Tasty squash soup to start a lovely holiday lunch with a colleague. Perfect Caesar salad with grilled shrimp and a glass of Pinot Noir. Yummy.
Good place for drinks, small plates and people watching. Brussels sprouts were delish!
We had a great experience - one of the best RVA restaurants we’ve been to. Overall the meal was outstanding - the only thing preventing 5 star was the pork loin dish was a little excessively salty. Everything else was marvelous!
Maple and Pine was so fabulous! We had a light dinner of shareable plates and some wine. The server was attentive, knowledgeable and very pleasant. We had such a good experience during dinner that we decided to try their brunch too. My only complaint would be portion size was smaller than expected but value, taste, presentation and the overall experience outweighs that complaint. It was the perfect location to celebrate our 10 year anniversary of friendship and shopping!
I wish a place a nice as this could do something about the noise level. I have a very short list of dining options in Richmond to take clients because it’s impossible to have a serious conversation while shouting. Food and service were top of the line. Very disappointed the rooftop wasn’t open did not realize it’s seasonal but learned from the staff that propane heaters are not allowed above ground level by law.
My husband and I celebrated Thanksgiving at Maple and Pine for a change of pace and thoroughly enjoyed it. The fixed price menu offered something for everybody. We had delicious cocktails at the vibrant bar before our meal. The ambiance in the Quirk Hotel (located in the midst of Richmond's developing arts district) is fun, youthful and funky. We will definitely go back!
I had a lovely Thanksgiving meal. Cocktails are top notch and the food is beautifully prepared with some wit and restraint. The space is really charming and the staff is very freindly. I have a tiny quible with the tablecoth configuration on the Bistro table base that is wraped with the tablecloth making it so that your stepping on it most of the time you are sitting, unless youpush it out of the way. I'm sure the designers could find a better solution for such a cleverly designed resturant/lobby space.
My parents and I had breakfast at Maple and Pine around the time they switch from the full breakfast menu (6:30-10am) to the transition breakfast menu (10-10:30) before lunch. My parents were late due to driving in from out of town and both the hostess and server were very accommodating and kind, offering both menus and the lunch menu to make sure we were able to eat what we’d like. Our server was very attentive and sweet! The food wasn’t the best I’d ever had, nothing special, but the ambiance and service were excellent! Their lunch menu looked like something that I’d come back for as well.
The food was to die for. The drinks were out of this world. The service was first rate. Our waiter was prompt and he listened to us.
We were in Richmond for just the night and a local friend recommended Maple and Pine. What a great find. Super fun environment, great food, really nice wine list at reasonable prices! SO enjoyed our evening and will now recommend Maple and Pine to friends headed to Richmond. I had the soup and beet salad, my husband the chicken dish and they were all scrumptious! Plus we enjoyed a rarely found wine that we loved from Austria. Thank you Maple and Pine. We will be back.
We had a great celebration meal here after running the Richmond half marathon. Our waitress was very helpful and we loved everything about the restaurant. Great decor, food and drinks.
Very attentive. Gave us champagne for our birthdays.
My daughter & I enjoyed our first meal here on a Saturday night. Food was creative and tasty, staff was friendly and attentive and I also love the look of the space. Our complaint is the openness of the restaurant area made for an increasingly loud environment. The arrival of a wedding party towards the end of our meal really added to the noise level. Also the side door, which is used exclusively for entering the restaurant area allows a big draft of air to come in every time it is opened and we were cold.
Birthday on a Tuesday night was perfect to dine at Quirk. Beautiful restaurant, great ambience and excellent foods.
The service was impeccable as well! We loved our server. Such a great experience with delicious food!
It was great!
Restaurant week was awesome at Msple and Pine. We will be back!
Lovely location, very chic. Excellent food and service.
We had a great experience at Maple and Pine. The service was good and the menu intriguing.
The waitress was too spastic! Would keep trying go take my meal away before I was finished. Did not separate the bills nor did she ask! Added the gratituity under service charge to seek more money out of us!! Very sneaky!!!
Wow. We flew up from Atlanta this afternoon and stayed at The Quirk at a friend’s suggestion. Asked some local friends to join us at the hotel restaurant which turned out to be OUTSTANDING. Great bar and bar staff. Delicious food and it’s Restaurant Week in this town so we had an amazing three course price fixe menu. Wonderful servers, fun, delicious food. Loved it.
Lovely dinner during restaurant week. They accommodated our two kids with an off menu item.
Our favorite date night restaurant! Amazing, creative food, white tablecloths, yet dress code is “smart casual.” (Come as you are!) The cocktail menu is super fun - love Ms. Crenshaw and always a nice selection of local craft beers on tap for the hubs. Everything is always exquisite. Even when something isn’t my favorite, I can always appreciate how well it’s been done. Tony is our favorite server, his recommendations are always on point. Tried a dessert last visit that I wouldn’t have tried without his urging... It. Was. Amazing.
Maple & Pine is great for ANY meal, breakfast through dinner, and the Quirk is just spectacular.
We recently had dinner here and after being so excited to try it we were a little let down. Our waitress was very nice and the pork bellies we started our meal with were delicious, but then it took almost 45 minutes for the rest our our meal to come out. The manager did come over to apologize but the restaurant wasn't really busy so not sure why it took so long. Then once we did get our food, the steak and butternut soup were delicious, but the arctic char and radish salad were sent back. We hoped dessert would redeem the meal but the chocolate ganache had a strange gelatin consistency and didn't really taste like much. The coconut balls that came with it were delicious though.
So all in all it was just an ok experience for dinner. We do love the rooftop though so we'll be back for that.
Incredible food equaled by the attentive and friendly staff in a truly fun and beautiful space. The acoustics are tough and enthusiastic people at the bar can make it challenging for diners to hear their table’s conversation.
Absolutely phenomenal! I was visiting a relative who is visiting Richmond and I am so glad I chose this place. The food was delicious, the service exceptional. I will definitely return with my husband. I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
This was such a cute place, a little awkward when you walk in as it feels as if it’s in the hotel lobby. Prices were perfect and brunch was really tasty. The servers were all really young (which is fine if they’ve been properly trained), every question on service seemed to really through the server. I get the college town/student work requirement, Quirk could invest more time in ensuring maturity and capability to serve.
Delicious food, beautifully plated and served attentively in an unusual setting - the attractive, vibey foyer of the Quirk Hotel! The rhubarb crisp with thyme ice cream was a delightful combination of flavors but awfully small...The roof top bar has lovely views and a great atmosphere.
We ordered the chefs tasting menu and were truly blown away. Every course was well thought out and the presentation was perfect. My only complaint was that we waited so long between courses. Our waiter was attentive but we weren’t expecting to be there for almost 2 hours eating dinner. The food was remarkable enough that we will definitely be returning.
I absolutely love the atmosphere and the decor. The food was beautifully prepared and yummy!
We had a delicious meal with excellent service. All we could ask for.
I loved this place! Everything about it is super social media worthy, but that aside the food is fantastic, the vibe is trendy and the service is great.
Steak ordered medium rare was served rare at best. It was returned for more cooking and was still undercooked. Blue cheese beignets were small, the side of 2 small croutons. Charged for an extra glass of wine. Ganache was just OK. Valet parking did not have umbrellas to escort people in the rain.
Gracious and delicious. Need to return to try more items on the menu.
Not bad but not great.
