What Insiders Are Saying
Maple & Ash sits in the middle of the Chicago steakhouse Venn diagram. It’s both new-school and old.
Been here a couple of times. The most recent time I went was for date but there were two tables next to us celebrating birthday. There were 8-10 people on each table and they were singing and talking really loud and I couldn't even hear what my partner was saying in normal voice.
Maple and Ash is a great place for special occassions and made my friend feel very special on his birthday! The seafood tower is a must have
Made our girls weekend. Amazing service!!!
Have been here before and remain highly impressed. Food and service is excellent, atmosphere is really great as well.
Spencer was EVERYTHING💕The food was amazing as usual, what a perfect Anniversary dinner!
I had the best time at my recent visit to Maple and Ash. I had some friends in town visiting Chicago and I was eager to take them to one of the arguably best “premium” level brunches in Chicago. David, one of the managers I believe, was outstanding. He was so nice. The overall service from everyone really set you apart from the rest. I will definitely be back! Thank you again Maple and Ash Staff!
Wonderful experience. We had brunch with our two young children. The staff was accommodating. Great service and excellent food.
Overall, such an amazing experience. The service was stellar. The ambiance was energetic and exciting.
I absolutely loved this place. Me and my boyfriend were In Philly for the weekend and got the recommendation from from a guy at Ralph Lauren. We went at 10pm on a Saturday. And it was quite busy but we had reservations (I’m not sure if they are required) so we were seated very quickly. Our server was Norris who we agreed was really good. We ordered the meatballs for appetizers which my boyfriend liked but I thought was a bit salty. For dinner we had the 45 day Aged tomahawk for $180 but we shared it and had the Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes with it which were a la carte and Norris suggested we pair it with a Cabernet which was a great choice. We loved the dinner. On to dessert we had the sundae which was really cute, a nice size and came with a toppings bar for $20.
I would easily recommend this place. It is good for friends, date night, family, etc. the ambience was lively and we could hear one another speak.
A complete dining experience! Highly recommend the IDGOF in the center of the menu. It’s a choice selection-amazing!
Outstanding, exceeded all expectations! We were first time customers and were not sure what to expect. We had checked out the menu and noted the prices are on high end, but we had a gift card from friends to use, were in the area for other reasons, and decided to make a reservation to celebrate a special occasion. WOW, what an experience, and we will be again, next time with friends. The value we received for sure exceeded the price based on the quality of food, excellent service, special attention from the entire team, and ambience. The entire staff was great upon entry into the first floor 8BAR, and going up to the 3rd floor Maple & Ash restaurant, and then finally leaving. We were greeted by several people who knew of us and our reservation, and finally by our waiter Spencer who took us to the most perfect table, exactly and more of what we wanted for the occasion. Spencer spent time talking to us, and made solid recommendations on based on our preferences, gave us the time we needed. My wife and I have different likes in food, and Spencer met the challenge. We were pleased with the pasta appetizer, seafood, steak and side dishes some of which were prepared in their maple wood fired oven which you can see as you walk to your table. There was plenty left, and we took some home to enjoy. By the way, the coconut cream pie dessert which Spencer recommended was very awesome.
First time here and I was very impressed with both the food and the ambience. Totally enjoyed everything we ate and would def return. My new fav Chicago rest
They didn’t follow reservation instructions for my partner/love bday celebration , awful food, very expensive entree with no flavor so mediocre not worth it . Table is not welcoming ...no starters no bread nothing ...boring
They did took care of the table after I have spoken to front desk lady not very nice keep on defending herself - she should start listening to guest. Poor service .
I appreciate the lady came in said sorry for the table but there’s no follow up after that ..
We actually just paid the bill and walked out without the cake with candle to celebrate and head to Waldorf Astoria to celebrate. It was a sad experience I’m embarrassed suggesting this place to all our guests drove all the way from Lake Geneva Wisconsin .
People that are used to luxury dining & exquisite taste - this is not the place.. very disappointing .
Not coming back .
This was my second time visiting maple and ash. I had such a great experience the first time I was there that when my friends from Baltimore came to town I had to take them there to experience how great the food and service at maple and ash is. Hands down some of the best food I have ever had and every staff member is knowledgeable of everything on the menu. Just an all around great experience again and they were not disappointed. Will definitely be going back again!!
Great service and great food! We will definitely be back.
Poor service can destroy an entire evening. Maple & Ash deserve the best servers around.
First class operation from management to staff. I highly recommend.
My favorite restaurant. Service was exceptional! Great attention to detail. Food was amazing. Highly recommend the Seafood Tower. Wedge salad was also delicious. Save room for the Ice Cream Sundae Tower. It’s a real treat!! Maple & Ash will be your favorite restaurant too!
This was my fourth or fifth visit to Maple and Ash and, as always, the experience was exceptional. It’s not at all inexpensive but, if you have the means, I highly recommend a visit.
The food at Maple and Ash was amazing; highlights include the foie gras app, meatball app, and exceptionally prepared steaks. The noise was deafening electronica. The diners aspire to be Kardashians or date one. The crowd was a sea of overly-botoxed, -bronzed, -bedazzled reality-show auditions. The worst.
Amazing in every way
I had my birthday party there in the Atrium we rented out for brunch. From the food to the ambiance to the free shots by the omelet station, This is my favorite restaurant in Chicago!
Wonderful brunch worth every penny of the $60.00 per person.
Everyone was great, had a table waiting per our reservation. Spenser who was in charge of our table service was just a great guy and helped explain the five or six food stations.
A must next time we are in Chicago.
The team was great in keeping our dessert for our celebration and making a big deal out of the presentation. We felt special despite the number of people. Thanks!
Food and service were incredible!
This place is great if you want to hang out at the bar or you don't mind waiting almost an hour even when you have a reservation. My friends and I were so tired of waiting and starving that 45 min later we found ourselves uncomfortably seated on a couch at the bar just to have some food. No one should wait that long when they have a reservation and the hostesses could care less. I would have been able to eat much sooner if I knew my reservation meant nothing at this place.
Delicious steak and impeccable service. Can’t wait to go back!
Had a wonderful time. We were celebrating a birthday. Two of us had the Dover Sole which was fantastic and two had a steak which they enjoyed. We also enjoyed beet salad and grilled octopus and onion soup. Everything was great. Our service was very good also.
I celebrated my Birthday,I love how attentive my waitress was serve us free drinks,I a menu said Happy Birthday with my name on it, everything and everyone was so pleasant, food was awesome only thing I didn't like was there own steak sauce but Overall still give them an A
This is an experience I highly recommend! A business associate and I came here for dinner on a business trip. We ordered the aptly named "I Don't Give A F#ck" which is akin to a 4-5 course Chef's prefix... it was amazing! I will give nothing away - well worth the price tag. Our server Justin was top-notch as well. This is not your ordinary steakhouse - on the surface its a classy, sophisticated establishment, replete with candelabras, hosts in suits and fine dresses, impeccable service and amazing food. But once you look closer at the menu and receive the first tongue-in-cheek response from the host, you know they don't want to be taken too seriously. Its a modern deconstruction of the tried and true steakhouse. A veritable middle finger to pompous food critics. I LOVE IT!
The entire experience, from start to finish, absolutely blew me away. We went for an anniversary dinner and they printed a personalized menu for us to take home to commemorate the evening. The food was unbelievable and the wait staff is second to none. One of the best dining experiences I've ever had.
I booked this reservation months in advance with high hopes to celebrate our anniversary and Everything was perfect from beginning to end! Our server, Shawn was knowledgeable, friendly and professional. The manager, Eric, stopped by and was a pleasure to talk to. Our food was prepared perfectly (the creamed spinach is excellent) and arrived in a timely manner. Wish we could have stayed for dessert. They have a tremendous wine selection, so it may be helpful to take a peek online before you go.
Went for date night and tried the IDGAF option. Everything was delicious and our server Jennifer was great.
Our waitress was OUTSTANDING! I brought my two boys and she totally catered to them and my son's birthday!
Great!! Both food and service
Our serve/ entertainer Megan was excellent! Recommended options gave us full attention and not too much. Made our dining experience for birthday celebrations a memorable night. Impressive staff! This was our 2nd time and loved it as much as the first
The ambiance, service and food was delicious. The noise level was high making it difficult for those at end of booth to hear each other.
Beautiful ambiance, love the decor, we were greeted with complimentary drinks and appetizers. Our waiter was great and knowledgable, but seemed kind of busy throughout the night, didn't check in on us as often as we had hoped but that wasn't a big deal. Food was good; very flavorful and unique. Dessert was the only mediocre thing we had that night, it was the milli crepe and the flavors just didn't do it for our palate. I would definitely come back though, love the vibe!
We did the IDGAF menu with wine pairing and I cannot say enough about the food and staff. Impeccable experience.
