Food was amazing, especially the Fried Chicken. Everything we ordered was great. Atmosphere was very nice. Reasonably priced. AND great service.
I applaud the restaurant for NOT forcing a gratuity onto customers unlike some Seattle restaurants.
Will definitely return to this restaurant AND recommend it to others.
Willow, our server, was great
I ordered the saimin which was way too salty and not enough soup.
Too loud, had a reservation and it took about a half hour before seating and another half hour for food, even though I had reserved food ahead of time.
Very good quality comfort food! And the Manhattan was excellent. (And I'm picky about Manhattans...)
We went early with friends and a couple of babies, they were very accommodating and we got to enjoy a nice long meal. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.
The food and service is consistently good. The tab is always a little high but well worth it when you know that the food and experience always delivers.
Always an enjoyable experience. Foods great .. 2 thumbs up for the bacon curry fried rice, and who doesn’t love a bottomless Mimosa for brunch?! The sound acoustics could use a little improvement as it can be a bit loud especially when they’re busy, but it wouldn’t diswade me from going there. Being able to get a reservation set up online thru Open Table (the day before & after hours) was a life saver. If you haven’t eaten here then you should, & if you have then you need to go back!
This is a great spot and I would highly recommend calling ahead of time and trying out the fried chicken, its delicious. The staff is awesome!
Great food. Make a reservation - they get busy. Excellent service.
I really miss some of the options they used to offer like breakfast congee and their burger at night. But the worse part of Sunday brunch was the waitress. She was rude and passive aggressive and knew she gave such a bad first impression that after the initial drink order a different waitress took her spot. I am pretty sure someone spit in our food. I live in San Francisco but am from Seattle and you just don't treat people like that in an okay restaurant in West Seattle.
Really loud place! Super loud! Don’t plan on a quiet conversation
The chicken was nicely seasoned and moist but very greasy. I loved the roasted asparagus. The fish collar with noodles was fishy tasting as fish gets when not fresh. My husband had the pork on the special Dining Out menu and enjoyed it very much. Dessert was good but not outstanding.
Mimosas and food were great! It’s a bit noisy but still worth it!
The service was great. The food was amazing. Get a whole bird so you can take it home. We just had leftovers tonight and so glad we bought a whole bird.
Awesome service and amazing food like always!
I have nothing but high praise for Ma'ono. Everything was at the top level. The service was amazing and the food provided on of the best meals I have ever had.
Superb food, absolutely delicious. would highly recommend
LoooOOOOOooved the PUPUS...so much goodness...we got a little of everything...the flavor knocked our socks off (all six of us). Too much to enjoy in one seating. Def need to come back.
The food and service was excellent as always! Reservations are a MUST on Thursday - Saturday evenings and worth planning ahead.
The only disappointment for us was not seeing the pork tacos on the menu anymore. I hope they bring them back!
One of our favorite Seattle restaurants.
Great food, service with a smile, love that you have to order your chicken when you make your reservation so you don't have to concern yourself with their running out.
Been there many times. One of my favorites. Sat at the bar for the first time and the service is always great.
Fried chicken was amazing and lived up to the hype. Drinks were tasty too. Noise was a bit loud but otherwise great experience. We will be back. Menu should note that you use peanut oil though. It was hard for us to track down this info and we have a son with a peanut allergy.
All the items we ordered were yummy and the cocktails and whisky pours were quality. However, the overall atmosphere was just your basic modern/hip ... with what I would say was less than your basic modern/hip attention to lighting ... as in it was just plain old dark ... nary a candle or twinkle light in sight. I can live with that, but there is something that will keep me from coming back -- the stunningly poor acoustics. We sadly found ourselves exhausted just trying to hear the server and each other. So ... if you go, only go during off/quieter hours (if there are any?) or with folks who you're not interested in talking to ... but where's the fun in that??!
Ma’ono is the best. Everything about this place is great.
I was disappointed in our brunch. Sunday brunch bloody Mary's should be super. It wasn't. The celery was limp and only a carrot in the Bloody.
Our hash dish was really a Mish mash so the vegetables seemed over cooked. Pricey too.
This is essentially 2 reviews in one after eating brunch here a couple weeks ago and then the dinner I had very recently. This place is great--it's always full these days but the noise doesn't overwhelm you. They are making these very cool meals that seem relatively simple at first but upon eating them, they're incredible--the fried chicken was JUST the fried chicken (nothing with it such as a veggie or a potatoe) but I couldn't get enough of it. The appetizers that was "just" broccoli and then a brussel sprouts are "just" that (nothing dressing it up) but the taste is incredible (the grilling and the spices). I can't express enough how good this fried chicken is, and there was almost no wasted "grist" or fat--I ate all of it!
I was also on a date and I liked the lighting a LOT--not too dark despite it being a somewhat-dimly-lighted place.
The waiter/waitresses work hard and you can always get their attention--they are very available.
I've also been impressed at the behavior of the number of young kids here--maybe 3-to-7 year olds. They're there with their parents and nobody is misbehaving. The food must be THAT good!
First time visitor left all time lover of this place! Amazing fried chicken
Fried chicken + Macaroni and kimcheese = Yes please forever.
Chicken. Get the half or full. The quarter won’t cut it once you taste it. Perfectly cooked. Great batter with enough spices. Juicy chicken. While fine by itself, the hot mustard dipping sauce is a nice addition. Oh yeah everything else you order will also be great.
My favorite fried chicken in Washington and because they offer a gluten-free version, I can have authentic real fried chicken that doesn't taste like GF! One of my favorite places in west Seattle, just remember to call ahead if the chicken is what you are after, as it goes fast! (24 hr notice for GF) Ask for the popcorn ice cream - surprisingly good! Both are addictive!
Im so glad we ordered the fried chicken in advance cause they were sold out by the time we were seated at 830. My Manhattan cocktail was perfect as was the fried rice (our favorite of everything we ordered). The brussel sprouts we good but not great. Overall we had a wonderful Valentine's day dinner.
We went to one of our favorites, Ma'ono as a Valentine's treat. The fried chicken and poke are both fantastic (order the chicken 24 hours in advance) but sadly this time the chicken was over fried. Despite that it was still very tasty, if just too dry.
The poke, was out of this world delicious, and the cocktails are good, although there have been much change in the drinks menu for the last year.
Gluten free fried chicken is outstanding for you're of us who can not easy the regular fare any longer, and the staff is helpful in knowing what else on the menu can be made gf.
The fried chicken was excellent. Our server, Willow, was friendly and knowledgeable. Although it is quite noisy during Sunday brunch, my friend (who I hadn't seen in a decade) and I had no trouble hearing each other while catching up and conversing.
This was my fourth or fifth time to this restaurant, although it’s probably been over a year since I was there last. I’ve always loved it. While the service was excellent, the menu had shrunk and the food although tasty, was not as good as it once was. The “new” burger, was a wet messy burger and quickly became a knife and fork burger. The meal was highly salted. Missing on the menu were some amazing sides including the carrots. It was very loud in the restaurant and it was tough to hear my table mate. Wishing the previous menu would come back....
Good service but aside from the chicken and the vegetables, there aren’t great share items. Better for smaller groups but fast service all around.
The gluten-free chicken is amazing! The whole family was satisfied and would've never known it was gluten-free if we had not told them !
Went to celebrate a job promotion. Ma’ono did not disappoint. We live this restaurant, and it is one of Seattle’s hidden gems.
