Ma'ono Fried Chicken & Whisky
A lovely Valentine’s Day evening with my spouse was made perfect by the spicy and elegant affair from the responsive chefs and personable wait staff. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
It was Valentines dinner. We were early seating. Felt rushed. Server had us in and out in an hour including drinks. Felt like they were anxious to turn the table.
Love this place for the great food & service! My one and only minor comment is that the lightening gets a little dim for my 40’something eyes at times 😁
Food was great. Chicken was the highlight. A little expensive, but servings were large.
Pros: The service was great and the fried chicken was really tasty! I'd also recommend the spam musubi and the kimchi.
Cons: The mac & kimcheese was pretty bland, which was disappointing because it sounded like a fun combo. It was also really loud (more "obnoxious" than "energetic") and pretty expensive for what it is.
If you're really enthusiastic about fried chicken, I might recommend this place, but with a caveat about the price and noise level. I probably won't be going back, though.
We had a fabulous meal here. The fried chicken really was all that, and I was raised in the South. And the sides were lip smacking good. It's a limited menu, so if you don't want fried chicken or Hawaiian fare, this is not your jam. We were dieting, which was less than ideal, but managed to get a belly full by choosing poke and veggies and not eating all the breading. Were I not dieting, I would have loved to try the carmelized onion topping! Service was great, and we ate comfortably in time to get to our show at Arts West. The only complaint I could make is that it was dark and loud. From the outside, I wasn't sure it was open, it was so dark.
Waffles and chicken nuggets with sausage gravy breakfast always a hit! The nuggets are home made, light batter and perfectly spiced meat. The waffles light and fluffy, and the gravy....BOMB! We also love the buttery syrup flavored lightly of coconut. Nicely done!
Love this place, great bottomless mimosas, the fried chicken sandwich is bomb and the staff & service were amazing!!!
The table should come with complimentary ear plugs. It is good food, good drinks, but the room and noise level were uncomfortable and took away from the overall experience.
Took the kids - ages 4, 6 and 8 - and we had a great time. Wonderful meal.
The fried chicken is awesome. I try to come here every time I'm in Seattle, and it never disappoints. The bok choy and the fried rice are great as well!
Great spot! Will recommend to friends.
Persia is awesome and made our anniversary date experience well worth the trek! Thank you Persia!
Always a great place to take people visiting from out of town. I've eaten here three times and have had nothing but excellent experiences start to finish - the wait staff is attentive and thoughtful, the drinks are very good and the food is awesome.
It was awesome. Food was great and service was great.
Ma’ono is always my go-spot in West Seattle when I have out of town / neighborhood guests visiting. The food and drinks are always so good. We are lucky to have a spot like this in our neighborhood!
Rude service, condescending, bad energy
Food far spicier than normal and made everyone sick.
New Years Eve dinner.
Good food. Distracted server
Great food as always. Good place for family style dining.
Very nice evening with great service and very tasty food. Definitely one of our favorite places for a meal and get together with friends in West Seattle.
We always enjoy Ma’ono! Great fried chicken, wonderful fried rice. Yum!
We'll be back.
Excellent fried chicken with a spicy Hawaiian twist! We enjoyed it!
Great chicken and the sides are phenomenal too!
Great place for our new tradition! We just had our second Pre-Holiday brunch At Ma’ono with our closest friends!
Love the food and keep coming back. Noise level is deafening during peak times.
You must reserve the chicken ahead of time but 1 chicken can feed 5 people easily. Order the biscuits and gravy to go with the chicken!!
Great food and the wait staff were great - just a bit noisy
Great comfort food, really good cocktails, and friendly service. I've been multiple times for dinner, but this was my first time going for brunch, and it was equally good. One of my go-to places in West Seattle!
Our server was exceptional. Looking forward to coming back.
Server Holly was great! She was attentive, friendly, and fun.
Been here many times for years and almost always get the fried chicken. Got it again this time but was disappointed as it was surprisingly dry - it’s usually juicier. Still flavorful, but not the quality we have come to expect (especially for the price).
Also, it seemed much darker in there than we remember... not sure if something has changed or if the lights we just dimmed, but I had to use the flashlight on my phone just to read the menu (I felt like my dad!)
We went for the brunch and ended up getting the whole fried chicken for the table. It definitely lives up to the hype. Crispy batter with a little kick, and moist and juicy meat -- it came with a a variety of sauces, but, honestly, it can stand on its own. The sides we ordered were also tasty (sweet rolls w/ nutella and apple butter and kimchi mac and cheese). We also had the poke, apple malasadas, and spam musubi as appetizers and all of were all delicious.
The restaurant is fairly loud and usually crowded. We didn't have a problem hearing each other, but it was definitely energetic for a Sunday brunch/lunch.
Sooo great. As usual.
I am really annoyed with this place. We ordered bottomless mimosas and when we were still drinking the hostess told us that she needed to turn the table and booted us out. I have been here many times and this has never happened to me before. We were shocked and angry and will never return here again.
Great food! I'm ruined from ever having loco moco anywhere else again.
Chicken was on point!
Good food and great service, but VERY noisy. Don't plan on much conversation, especially with a group
Absolutely delicious and the bottomless mamosas were just a great deal!
