We came here as newlyweds on a week's vacation to NorthStar. Due to covid, we were seated outside but there were plenty of lanterns to keep warm. The attire was more casual because of being outside in the cold as well. We were greeted with a toast to celebrate becoming newlyweds and everything after was great. The food was excellent! I would highly recommend getting a reservation beforehand since it is limited seating. We will be back for sure next time we are in North Tahoe.
Great outdoor dining experience. Only item that was a slight detractor is they seated tables next to each other I suppose so that the heaters would get better coverage. Great food and great service!
Always a pleasure eating at this restaurant! Great food and great service are a common theme here. Cheers!
I love this hotel and restaurant and was excited to show my date who had never been. We knew ahead of time we’d be seated outside due to Covid and although it was 30 degrees out I assumed that since it’s the Ritz Carlton they’d have a comfortable heated patio and possibly a tent or other way to block the wind. That wasn’t the case and after trying to brave the cold through our first course (there were patio heaters but nothing close to what would actually keep you warm during a nice leisurely dinner) we asked for our food to go and we ate it in the lounge area next to a fireplace. The staff was attempting to be reasonably accommodating but nothing like I d expect at a hotel of this caliber. The main lounge area hadn’t been cleaned up for awhile apparently - there were to go boxes and dirty plates and glasses sitting around. At least the wine was great!
Need to work on COVID protocols. Outdoor tables were not properly spaced 6’ apart.
Food was not as good as other times. Heard they changed chef’s
Awesome experience!! Food was delicious, impeccable service!
We enjoyed the first snow of the season in the warm, inviting ambiance of the Ritz. The Octopus and Scallops entree was notable. The Caesar and our shared appetizers were perfectly delicious, excellent wine list, and great service.
All around wonderful Sunday evening experience, thank you!
The service was not good. Our food was brought to us cold. I had to get up to use the restroom and while coming back I saw it was kept on the counter. It was brought to us only after 10 more mins. Steak was cold and was cold and tough. My wife ate only half of it.
We were disappointed.
Perfect location. The duck and the chocolate molten cake were both amazing
Great location - exceptional service!
A great all around experience for a special occasion. Beautiful ambiance, views, gorgeous decor', flawless service and every indulgence you need. The menu changes a lot which I appreciate for variety. Most Truckee restaurants don't do this.
From start to finish an amazing experience. Xavier was so accommodating allowing us to arrive 30 minutes early, Tyler did an amazing job selecting the right bottle for our occasion and Kristen our server was incredibly attentive to our needs. That’s not even to mention the spectacular meal that was prepared for us to perfection! We cannot wait to return soon again in the furure!
We advised the restaurant before hand that we had an anniversary. Nobody seem to care. We’re sitting outside and the atmosphere was very good, they had heat lamps. The food was pretty good. We would definitely come back. Pricey but that’s not surprising.
Service and food were outstanding, above any expectations. Server was Gaby and she was great, Somm was exceptional. We be recommending this restaurant!
menu was different but still very good. we will go back!
Food was delicious ! Service was excellent ! And dress was casual which made you feel very comfortable in this high end place.
This restaurant is top-notch AMAZING!!!! From the moment you walk in, you are warmly greeted. the food is superb, service is fantastic and the ambience is beautiful! I highly recommend, especially for a date night! The ydo have a Ritz Kids menu too!
Very expensive. Small portions. Great service.
Amazing NY steak and pasta dinner!
Delicious food and great service.
Patrick took wonderful care of us! We can’t to be back.
We were seated immediately. The hostess addressed us by our surnames. Very respectful. The restaurant was clean and we felt comfortable where we were seated. We felt safe during the pandemic. The waitress immediately wished us a happy Anniversary and gifted us two glasses of champagne to celebrate. She was very knowledgeable on how the food was prepared. I don’t have the words to explain how delicious the food was other than phenomenal! My husband made a joke about there wasn’t enough carrots on the plate and the waitress brought him 3 more! We laughed so hard. She also over heard my husband mention he might order the lava cake and she gifted us the cake! The average price for a dish is approximately $40 a plate but definitely worth it. We did valet parking and it was validated because we ate there. The valet opened the door for me and wished us a safe trip. Best experience ever! We will definitely be back.
A limited menu but a nice wine list to match the food offerings. We had a great time and the service was top notch, exactly what you would expect in a Ritz Carlton. She was very knowledgeable, made good suggestions and made sure we had everything we needed.
Food is way over priced, $40 for chicken, $48 for NY Strip steak and fries that was generous portions but not the best cut. Seems they are trying to make up for Covid times on the backs of the people who are supporting them. BTW $9 for toast at breakfast! Plus $55 a night to park. I feel gouged! Only good thing was the service.
We very much enjoyed the evening, food and service and ambience were all lovely. Great Staff thank you.
The yellow jacket problem made it impossible to eat outside.
Excellent , perfect, delicious . I think you should add more Entrées. other than that it was perfect. We had a lovely time. The servers are excellent .
Thank you so much for staying open through Covid -19.

Waited 30mins to be seated with reservation
In fairness the restaurant had just reopened. Seemed it was adjusting to the new COVID-19 guidelines. However we waited over 30 mins with no server and no entree. When we spoke with the manager he was very unprofessional and dismissive. During which the entrees arrived which were very over salted. However the food and beverage manger ( Alyssa Beltran) was great at recovery and taking care of the situation.
Excellent service. Perfect for special occasion. Kudos to Ryan. Great server!
Very small portions
great location, excellent facility, outstanding food and wonderful service.
First off, it is a beautiful space and our server was excellent. Most of the dishes were exceptional, however, 2 out of the 3 filet mignon orders were very overcooked – and at this price point that is just not acceptable.
Birthday dinner
The food was outstanding, as was the service. While the stay at the Ritz itself left a lot to be desired, this gem of a restaurant redeemed our weekend away.
Mid-week, during the off-season, does not seem a good time to catch great food. 4 out of 4 in our small party were disappointed in the main course. But we have had a great experience in the past, and expect good things also in the future. We will be back.
Food, service, ambiance, noise level - all excellent. My only complaint was that my wife and I ordered a glass of wine that we were familiar with. The wine was superb. The cost for a glass of nice wine was $30.00 each! I could have purchased a bottle of that wine for about the same cost as our two glasses. They lost me on that price for a glass of wine. Sorry.
Service was absolutely great.
Food was problem.
I ordered the Cioppino and the broth was excessively salty that it just was not tasty. The fish they included ware amazing and fresh. The over salted broth just ruined it.
Growing up in San Francisco, I know what delicious Cioppino should taste like.
My husbands fish dish tasted really blah.
Their Kid’s menu is amazing though. I wish I could have ordered the salmon dish from that menu.
The best! Skied over for lunch for my birthday and sat outside under the heated Terrace on a sunny day. We had the crispy halibut tacos, butternut squash soup, and the ahi tartare. Delish! DO NOT MISS THE CHOCOLATE SIERRA LOG FOR DESSERT! Henry was great taking care of us!
