We hadn't stayed in Lake Tahoe in many years and chose to revisit to celebrate our 41st wedding anniversary at Manzanita at The Ritz-Carlton for dinner. They were aware of our celebration and our waitress, Gabby, arrived with glasses of champagne. Pleasantly surprised the dinner kept getting better. Good service by Gabby, good food, wonderful dessert. This was a very enjoyable, relaxing dinner with gracious decor, service and nice people. We couldn't be happier! Thank you
Excellent food, service and it has always been a first choice in the Tahoe area.
We were there for the Mother's Day brunch and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves .....starting with the Bloody Mary bar to ending with the fabulous Strawberry Shortcake. The assortment of foods available insured that there was something for everybody's taste....even for the kids.
We enjoyed both dinner & breakfast! We split our dinner with no complaint. We enjoyed their duck dinner. We got the fried cauliflower, as a side & it too was delicious! Their leak bread is incredible! Finished with the s’’mores dessert! Yummy! There is an extensive wine list, a little pricey.
My husband enjoyed eggs Benedict & I had The avocado toast with poached egg. The toast was massive in size. This is not a small breakfast!
We stayed at the Ritz-Carlton and booked dinner one of the two nights we were at the hotel. My wife and adult daughter accompanied me and we had a wonderful dinner. We each ordered something different accompanied by some of our favorite wines. The chef came out and asked how we liked our dinners. Service was attentive and this was one of the highlights of our stay.
Very small portions and hugely overpriced.
Excellent place for a high end dining experience. Relaxed environment and amazing staff!
Went there for brunch and tried their buffet. I probably had high expectations because this is at the Ritz but very disappointed. Besides the ambiance, there’s not much to say about this restaurant. I’ve had way better food at cheaper places and other five star hotel restaurants.
Limited selection and very basic. My pancake was hard and couldn’t eat it so tried the waffle and I couldn’t help but laugh when I saw the person at the omelet station using that instant waffle maker you’ll see at hotels with free breakfast. I’ve had better pancake/waffle at IHOP.
And let’s not talk about service, they’re obviously short staffed and no one came to our table until we’ve been seated for almost 20 mins. Service was almost non-existed as we had to keep flagging different servers to help us. It’s a shame because we’re a group of 6 and was immediately charged service charge which I didn’t think they deserved. We frequent Northstar for skiing but this restaurant, we will not be back.
It's Ritz. Good service and delicious food but most customers are family with children so it is not romantically quiet.
My old friend started this place, and it is excellent! I will go back every time I visit my house in Northstar. Also great for apres cocktails and appetizers. The Salmon was awesome.
Wonderful lunch - all the food and drinks were delicious! Atmosphere was great and relaxing!
Even though we had a reservation it took about ten minutes to get the table setup. The kitchen was able to quickly produce two kids bowls of pasta, but we were put into the back of the restaurant when there were several open tables towards the front near the kitchen.
I would conditionally recommend the Manzanita.
Gondola ride from Northstar village to ritz Carlton for high quality high priced late dinner. Service was and had to be really fast to catch last gondola down hill.
They gave us the poorest seat in the house. Parking is $45 without validation and $15 with.
Better food in Incline. Not worth the drive.
Great execution as always. Love the seasonal menu and new chefs. Go Puerto Rico!
Good food and good servoce
Sophia was amazing! So attentive and amazing with us and our kiddos! Give her 5 stars
Food and service were great, ask for Marius to be your server, he's the best
Manzanita is a beautiful restaurant but the food was just okay. They could definitely have more selection in the appetizer and entree departments.
The service was outstanding.
Whenever we visit the Lake Tahoe area, we make a point of dining at Manzanita at least once. It's our favorite restaurant in entire north Lake Tahoe area. We love everything about the restaurant, but especially the food.
Birthday, had fun.
Service was horrendous. Extremely inattentive waitstaff. Overpriced for mediocre food.
Excellent service by Ryan. We dined there twice. All the dishes were delicious. The tomahawk was excellent. Lower corkage fee would be nice.
I had lunch at Manzanita with my boyfriend two days ago and we could not have loved the service more. Everyone was super kind. I am celiac and everyone knew what that means, which I appreciate a lot. I wanna thank Carolina for her kindness and Felícitas for her courtesy call which was super thoughtful too.
Food is great. The service is the best. It is clear the staff training is typical Ritz Carlton. These guys (and ladies) are top! Will be back!
Staff was amazing! And the food just as good
Perfect Valentines lunch, snowy blustery day, fun to look out at the small & big children playing in the snow!! Food (Rubin) was perfect as well as the Fish Tacos.
New chefs at Manzanita who are in from Puerto Rico. In all the years of coming here - this team is the best! Awesome menu right now. Can’t wait to return!
The hostess was not very helpful, but we managed to seat ourselves since what she was giving us some awkward wait suggestions even though we got there when numerous tables where ready.
The service was very good and the food was delicious, especially the meats.
Its always a pleasure to eat here. Our family dinner was a big hit. Every dish was perfect.
They make it a lovely experience.
Steaks were perfectly cooked, apps were delicious. Especially enjoyed the scallops and the Brussels family side.
Outrageous prices for bad food. Portion sizes are almost ridiculous. Our salad was like two pieces of greens with one beet. Not worth it at all!
Great food and great setting. The family style striped bass was incredible!
We have been going here for years. Always a treat. This year must be a new chef. Selection was very mediocre. While food was good, it was nothing to write home about and very expensive. Sure you are in the Ritz which makes it nice. But they are getting to the point of really a low value for the money. Sides are all additional making it really pricey.
Had a ham and egg type bucatini (super small for like $18). The crab toast was excellent however. Entrees, short rib was the best call. Well prepared. New York strip was well prepared and sauce (ask for extra sauce) but way oversized (normally that shouldn’t be a downside but why not balance out the steak with some veggies? And at $58? The chicken pot pie was disappointing (and $40, really)?
Wine list always excellent and sommelier excellent.
Also they famous chefs table and chefs counter was closed for MLK weekend. That was a huge disappointment since we have done that several years in a row on MLK weekend. It is almost like they don’t have enough staff in this environment.
Fabulous food and impeccable service. Worth the trek in the blizzard from Northstar Village! Great restaurant, very well run.
It was great for our anniversary. Thank you.
Nice meal during a vacation week. Even better if more vegetarian choices. Felt it was overpriced for the entrees especially the vegetarian pasta entree for 43 dollars. Duck entree mediocre. Apple dessert was great and salmon entree solid.
Decent for a hotel meal but should have been better for the 350 dollars we paid (one dessert one glass of wine and just three entrees).
