Manzana - Lake Oswego Ratings and Reviews
Manzanas was my choice 4 my birthday dinner . We've been coming here for years and enjoy the great food, good service and lovely ambience with varied menu at reasonable prices.
Our reservations were seamless. Service was gracious and attentive. The special was prime rib. We ordered med rare - it was delicious. (It could have been a bit more rare / moist for our preference but no complaints). My mom ordered the scallops and lime cilantro rice - very nice - plated on a swath of pasilla pepper glaze for dipping. The scallops were cooked perfectly but over-salted. The chicken and gravy with mashed potatoes as always were scrumptious. (tip - their gravy is wonderful- ask for extra!) I recommend the dark meat as the breast can be a bit dry. Peach iced tea was the beverage of choice around the table for most. It's the best I've had.
For dessert we all shared a slice of the delectable chocolate ganache "pie" with fresh slices of banana on a buttery choc chunk cookie crust with whipped cream drizzled in caramel. Compliments of the house for my birthday - a very pleasant surprise!
Healthy portions left us with leftovers to take home. Will definitely be back!
Just another great dining experience! We were seated quickly and our server was right there. Our drinks were brought out along with bread right out of the oven and butter. We ordered 2 entrees and they were delivered split for us. Try the Gorgonzola bacon potatoes, soooo yummy. We are coming for Christmas Eve and I can’t wait.
Manzana's food is really just okay but the service is always great, the atmosphere is cozy and it's usually fairly easy to park. They really need to do some updating as the carpet is really looking shabby and everything could just use some freshening. Still, it's convenient for larger groups to meet, they take reservations, and the service keeps us coming back.
As always the food was great and the service was excellent. The Thanksgiving dinner options were well thought out and provided a nice variety, especially for those who prefer not having turkey. Perhaps adding a vegetarian option in the future might be worth considering. If only it was not so dang noisy, which I consider to be a negative.
Ky wife and I had eaten here before and it was great so we thought we would have our 33rd anniversary at your place. The hostess set up our table with Happy Anniversary confetti and it was very impressive. We also received a dessert on the house. We will always recommend this place to our friends and business friends. Thank you for a great night.
Every time we eat at Manzana we receive excellent service and nicely presented/perfectly cooked meals. We also enjoy the atmosphere and adult beverages! When we are headed to the theater, they are prompt with our meal service. And, when we're on a date, we never feel rushed to leave. From the moment we walk in the door we feel welcomed and valued.
We had a nice liesurely lunch at Manzana. The food was very good, and the selection great. One of us had breakfast while the other two had lunch. Service was excellent. Our waitress came by at just the right intervals and refilled coffee and tea and removed plates. And we weren't made to feel rushed.
When we first arrived for our reservation they were ready to seat us. However one of our party requested a table vs booth. The hostess almost seemed put off by it and advised it would be a few minutes before they had another table ready, which was fine. We were seated right next to the kitchen which was a bit noisy. The table was wobbling really bad, so bad if there was food and drink on it, it would have spilled. We asked if there was something we could wedge under there to prevent the wobble. A young lady brought over a folded napkin and handed it to my husband who then got down on his knees place it under the wobbly leg... thankfully the food was really good and our waiter was great.
We wanted to escape the crowds in dowtown Portland the night before the Marathon and visit quieter Lake Oswego. What a nice find , Manzana. We were promptly seated per our reservation for the four of us, yet the place was jumping with activity. We were warmly welcomed by all. Our group loved the variety; a tangy pasta dish with seafood, French dip; chopped salad, and savory shrimp with a side Caesar salad. It was delicious bistro dining fitting varied appetites and tastes. Terrific experience in every respect.
Beautiful restaurant. We weren't impressed overall with the food. My wife ordered the filet mignon. Cooked well but not flavorful. The side of potatoes was good. I ordered the pecan crusted halibut, which was quite good however the cilantro rice and garlic beans left something to be desired. Overall not impressed for the cost, I don't envision us going back.
Our meals were good but having everything arrive all at one time was a problem as we were hoping to enjoy our appetizers and have a few drinks. Consequently, we ended up not able to enjoy the appetizers or drinks. Finding our sever to get some wine to go with our entrees was a challenge. Frustrating! Ambiance is good. We’ll give it another try
It was a perfect late summer night ,we chose to eat outside on the patio overlooking the lake . Gorgeous view! Food and service were excellent. I have been here many times and always enjoy it. Five others with me had never dined there before and thanked me for the recommendation. I always try to eat here when I am on business in the Portland area.
We all (2 adults, 2 discriminating kids) had very good food on Labor Day. My husband had the ahi and I had the halibut, they were seasoned and cooked perfectly, plus they offered a second vegetable when I said I didn't want the rice. I can't get excited about the atmosphere at Manzana, but the food and service were very good.
Good experience overall. We had the pacific rockfish and Ahi tuna dishes. Both were good, but the rockfish well exceeded our expectations. Especially how they use the cornmeal batter. They state they are a southwestern restaurant; however, some of the garnishes with the rockfish had a southern taste to them. Even the fish itself. We liked it.
