Manzana - Lake Oswego Ratings and Reviews
Every time we eat at Manzana we receive excellent service and nicely presented/perfectly cooked meals. We also enjoy the atmosphere and adult beverages! When we are headed to the theater, they are prompt with our meal service. And, when we're on a date, we never feel rushed to leave. From the moment we walk in the door we feel welcomed and valued.
We had a nice liesurely lunch at Manzana. The food was very good, and the selection great. One of us had breakfast while the other two had lunch. Service was excellent. Our waitress came by at just the right intervals and refilled coffee and tea and removed plates. And we weren't made to feel rushed.
When we first arrived for our reservation they were ready to seat us. However one of our party requested a table vs booth. The hostess almost seemed put off by it and advised it would be a few minutes before they had another table ready, which was fine. We were seated right next to the kitchen which was a bit noisy. The table was wobbling really bad, so bad if there was food and drink on it, it would have spilled. We asked if there was something we could wedge under there to prevent the wobble. A young lady brought over a folded napkin and handed it to my husband who then got down on his knees place it under the wobbly leg... thankfully the food was really good and our waiter was great.
We wanted to escape the crowds in dowtown Portland the night before the Marathon and visit quieter Lake Oswego. What a nice find , Manzana. We were promptly seated per our reservation for the four of us, yet the place was jumping with activity. We were warmly welcomed by all. Our group loved the variety; a tangy pasta dish with seafood, French dip; chopped salad, and savory shrimp with a side Caesar salad. It was delicious bistro dining fitting varied appetites and tastes. Terrific experience in every respect.
Beautiful restaurant. We weren't impressed overall with the food. My wife ordered the filet mignon. Cooked well but not flavorful. The side of potatoes was good. I ordered the pecan crusted halibut, which was quite good however the cilantro rice and garlic beans left something to be desired. Overall not impressed for the cost, I don't envision us going back.
Our meals were good but having everything arrive all at one time was a problem as we were hoping to enjoy our appetizers and have a few drinks. Consequently, we ended up not able to enjoy the appetizers or drinks. Finding our sever to get some wine to go with our entrees was a challenge. Frustrating! Ambiance is good. We’ll give it another try
It was a perfect late summer night ,we chose to eat outside on the patio overlooking the lake . Gorgeous view! Food and service were excellent. I have been here many times and always enjoy it. Five others with me had never dined there before and thanked me for the recommendation. I always try to eat here when I am on business in the Portland area.
We all (2 adults, 2 discriminating kids) had very good food on Labor Day. My husband had the ahi and I had the halibut, they were seasoned and cooked perfectly, plus they offered a second vegetable when I said I didn't want the rice. I can't get excited about the atmosphere at Manzana, but the food and service were very good.
Good experience overall. We had the pacific rockfish and Ahi tuna dishes. Both were good, but the rockfish well exceeded our expectations. Especially how they use the cornmeal batter. They state they are a southwestern restaurant; however, some of the garnishes with the rockfish had a southern taste to them. Even the fish itself. We liked it.
Just love, love, love this restaurant! We are always greeted promptly and pleasantly. The server comes to the table quickly with a ready smile to take the drink order. Drinks and bread arrive followed shortly by the entree choice(s). Jana, our super server, checked back a few times to make sure all was well. Eric, the manager, also stopped by to say hi. All in all another superb dining experience!!
We were in town for the 2017 Solar Eclipse and chose Manzana for dinner one evening and we were very pleased. I had the Enchilada Stack which seems to be a hybrid Enchilada/Chile Relleno - excellent choice for me with their top shelf Margarita. My hubby had the Columbia River Steelhead and a local beer and was also totally pleased. The service was fast and friendly.
I took a friend here after picking her up at PDX. Our server was personable and attentive, but not overly attentive. We split a salad and the crab sandwich, which turned out to be just a little more than we could eat. The portions are big. Rather than bringing one salad plate for us to divide, the kitchen divided it, making a nice presentation - a big plus! The outdoor seating is lovely, especially on a perfect, sunny day. I would definitely go back!
