Thank you for making us feel welcome. The food was exceptional and the service was wonderful. The weather was quite chilly and you had blankets and heaters to make us feel welcome. Thank you. The only thing was the hostess was not very nice when she came out and said we had to check in before we got a table. I had reservations so she said sit where you want. FYI it was not busy at all. 11:30am on a Monday.
Manuel’s is a hidden gem in North AUGUSTA GA. Don’t let the name mid-lead you. It’s every bit a restaurant and a good one at that. I highly recommend giving it a try especially if you’re in town for The Masters.
Here for the Masters.
We had had Manuel’s Bread Cafe HIGHLY recommended by James, the owner/manager of PF Chang’s, and he was right! Everything was delicious! It’s a little “out of the way”, but Uber got us there! We were a little taken aback by the prices, as we’d looked up their menus on line, and the prices seemed reasonable for a “nice” restaurant. But we were given a special menu for Masters Week, with, essentially, almost everything doubled in price! After we got over the slight shock (we’re from NYC, after all!), we just “went with it”, and really did have a wonderful dinner.
The restaurant is in a very special area, which might be worth exploring....we didn’t arrive early enough, but you could!
2nd year in a row eating there after enjoying The Masters. Even better this year than last. Our guests including a couple that had and another than had not dined with us here last year both said "This place is the best. It is Tops!". A great hidden gem of a find and we definitely will be back! Fabulous menu and wine list! Excellent service.
We really enjoy the atmosphere and the food. Dining outside is a little cold but they give you blanket. We had a great time
Not as good as I remembered. Service slow, but it was Masters Week.
Manuel's is our go-to choice for Sunday brunch as well as celebratory dinners. Menu items always include locally-sourced ingredients that are combined in surprising and delicious ways. Great for friends and for couples.
Great time had by all, thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Overall an excellent meal. Portions were a little small
Menu was very limited - not what was on website and did not have a full bar. Service was good but a tad slow for the size of the restaurant. Food was not worth $ charged. A $65 steak better be a good piece of meat that melts in my mouth - it did not. Rack of lamb was 2 small lamb chops, again over priced. Dessert was the best feature of the meal...
Definitely eat outside! The ambiance was worth every penny. The only issue I had was that half of the tables outside had lighting and the other half didn’t. Our reservation was at 8pm so by the time the entree’s were served it was pretty dark. I couldn’t even see my rack of lamb properly to cut it. I asked for a candle which we were given promptly but it didn’t help very much. The waitress and deserts were phenomenal though!
We had been seated for 10-15 minutes and had to finally ask for a server. Sprite came and was flat- had not changed out cylinders. Food was fair. Desserts were very good. The little cafe was very quaint but that is where it stopped
Outstanding food, staff and service! Thank you!
Fantastic food using locally-grown ingredients, equally superb service. A bit pricey, but well worth it for special occasions.
This was one of the few finer dining establishments open Easter Sunday for dinner. My husband and I shared the Steak au poivre for two, listed on the menu as a 30 ounce steak, of which better than a third of it (probably closer to half) was fat and inedible. My daughter had the fried ravioli appetizer for her meal, which tasted like something we could have ordered from Olive Garden. Not what I was expecting from such a highly rated finer dining restaurant. They did have a nice selection of cakes for dessert; we tried the grasshopper and hummingbird cakes, both of which were good. Overall, we won’t be going out of our way to eat at Manuel’s Bread Cafe, but would stop in for dessert if on that side of town.
Tasty. Eccentric area. Love the decor and warm blankets on outside tables a thoughtful touch. Food was very good...however my soft shell crab was inedible and no one asked why I left untouched
Manuel’s has been one of our favorites for more than 7 years. We pop in when we are in town. Unfortunately, our last trip was not one of our best. Our server was very attentive. We ordered the charcuterie. There were about 10 pieces of meat and 5 stale crostini. Hubby ordered the beef Bourguignon and I had the lamb. His beef was excellent, but I had one over cooked chop and one was nearly raw. I just asked to have the raw ones thrown on a bit longer and they were better......but, at that point the rhythm of the meal was a mess. We ordered dessert to go. The desserts have always been amazing....but, the Oreo Cheesecake was disappointing.....it was either old or over whipped, because the consistency was gummy. We kind of thought they would at least comp the dessert because of all the issues.....but no accommodations were made. Pretty disappointing. Just hope this isn’t a trend!!
Manuel's always delivers great food and service. The weather was perfect for outdoor dining.
Pasta of the day was awesome!
The food was adequate Service was inattentive, the air conditioning was set at meat locker, even after we requested the air conditioning be turned down. Other guests were also running arms to keep warm.
Wonderful gem of North Augusta , it is truely beautiful
Excellent food - my husband and I got specials (amberjack and lamb). Both were delicious. Service was also good. WONDERFUL DINING EXPERIENCE ALL AROUND!!
Great food, terrific server. Dinner on the patio doesn’t get much better. Looking forward to my next visit.
Incredible birthday dinner! April was helpful and attentive, the wine and food were delicious (loved the Steak Diane special), and the environment was cozy & laidback. Made my night.
Service was excellent. Was greated as we entered the restaurant
Excellent service and great ambiance! The Burrata was very good, very tasty combination of mozzarella, pesto and pita. The beef stroganoff was also very good minus the addition of pickles. I got my personal favorite of lamb chops which they had a great cut of meat but it was not cooked properly. They made up for it with their dessert, three different half slices of cake. Probably won't come back for dinner but still the best for lunch or brunch.
We had a stuffed pork chop - delicious & tender - and the beef stroganoff- full of flavor and plenty of tender beef. Coffee was very good and just wish we had saved room for a slice of one the enticing cakes. We will come back another day for coffee and desert.
A nice experience as always at Manuel’s.
Brunch on the patio is a delight! Great food and great service!
Service was excellent and staff were very knowledgeable of menu and special selections. We were greeted and seated as soon as we arrived. Dinner was delicious. The best gyro both of us had ever tasted and the french onion soup was perfectly balanced. Quiet dinner afternoon and no rush over the meal. A bit pricey for soup and a sandwich but I will return for special occasions.
Our friends had never been here before. They enjoyed it. We sat outside since the weather was so nice. Very comfortable. The service was excellent. We all tried something different and everyone enjoyed the food.
Always is a great place to dine. Good food, service etc. All you want in a restaurant.
Very friendly staff, wonderful ambiance and great outside seating, food wasn’t great, but ok
Visiting Augusta, we were looking for something interesting for Sat. dinner. We didn't know much about Manuel's, but were very glad to have selected this restaurant. The menu had great choices, food was terrific, and service was excellent. The restaurant has a very comfortable atmosphere. Overall, very highly recommended.
We love Manuel’s! Everything is fresh & wonderful. We’ve never been disappointed with food or service!
Great service and meals were all delicious
We had a wonderful time and the ambiance is exceptional for the augusta area. Manuel and his staff are very nice and I loved the stuffed prawns and snapper entree!
Great food and service
Excellent restaurant with a great ambiance. My wife, daughter, and I thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Highly recommend.
Our large group grew in the last few minutes, so we had to scramble to get seating for everyone. The staff was very nice about it and were able to accommodate everyone. Good farm to table meals, great cheese board and entrees. Rack of lamb seemed to be a hit, as was the snapper that I had. Very good wine list as well. Service lagged at times, I think because of the size of the group. Some of the items seemed to come out in an unusual order but not enough to be an issue. I would hope not; I've entertained here several times, and will again. It's one of my favorites, and a BIG plus is that it's open on Mondays and Tuesdays, unlike many of the Augusta area restaurants.
