Manuel's Bread Cafe
Perfect meal as always!
Had a great time! Our server, however did not seem like he really wanted to be there and wasn’t the kindest but the food was great!
Really enjoyed the experience and will definitely come back with family & friends!
Neat little restaurant to experience. Nothing spectacular, but location is nice.
Our server was amazing and the food was even better.
After waiting over an hour for our food, we left the restaurant. Terrible service, won’t return.
Repeat customer. Outstanding food and service. Cozy atmosphere with good selection of appetizers and entrees. Recently brought out of town visitors and they loved it. Will be back.
This is usually my brunch date spot every Sunday! 95% of the time I try one the specials and it is probably my favorite part. They have the best outside seating and even when it’s a little chilly they have heated lamps and provide blankets. It’s a great place to have some fresh food that is a step above basic brunch items.
Excellent food and attentive wait staff! We will continue to come back, especially for the brunch!
Food was great. They continued to run out of food quickly.
The breakfast buffet was amazing!
Food was nothing to get excited over. Took forever to order and our server was clearly overwhelmed. Maybe it was just an off night for them.
Staff was great! First time visiting went on wife’s birthday. Waitresses were accommodating and friendly. There recommendations made it a memorable birthday celebration!
I took my oldest granddaughter out for lunch after church. We had a great time!
Food was delicious and the service was wonderful!
Food was innovative and exceptionally prepared. The service was also impeccable.
We love coming to Manuels for the location, ambiance, and food. The prices seem a little on the high side though. My biggest complaint is that whenever I come (and this is the place we like to take people especially from out of town) our server is ambivalent. I don't think I have ever been when the server has been even pleasant. The people at the door are always welcoming but then we sit down and it's a different story. It's embarrassing especially if we have brought someone who hasn't been before. I only say this to let them know that it is noticeable and it is a regular occurrence. Our server the other day even seemed annoyed at us. Yes, we had a group of 10 with a couple of children, I understand that is a lot to deal with but if you are in the people business you really should have better training or something. Attitude speaks volumes!
Loved the food and the experience! Would recommend!
Great food and great service. Lovely atmosphere
Authentic French bistro
Always a great dining experience. Good food, good times, great friends
Excellent experience. My wife and I dined here for the first time recently for our 8th anniversary. We had received previous good reviews from friends, but we waited for this occasion to try the restaurant. It exceeded our expectations. I made a 6:00p reservation, and we were seated at a quiet table by the window at the back of the restaurant where the atmosphere was very appropriate... not too dark, not too bright, and even the black & white movie (no sound) projected against the back wall during our visit added to the eclectic feel. As we'd anticipated, the food quality was excellent. From the complimentary warm bread to the dessert, everything was well-prepared, properly portioned (entrees are generous) and delicious. Also, great wine selection. The service was also very good. I would definitely consider Manuel's one of the BEST restaurants in the Augusta/Aiken area, and highly recommend. We WILL be back!
The French dip was just overwhelming with how much horseradish was put on the sandwich. It literally took my breath away from how much there was. And I mean that not in a good way. The food is sub par for the price.
It’s not that much fun squeezing in next to another couple. It doesn’t allow for any private conversation while out on your dinner date as those sitting next to you can hear your every word and even pass the bread basket. I would recommend eating outside and brave with a coat. The seating provided post three week reservation was poor.
Always fantastic.... GET THE DUCK WINGS!!!!!
The Saturday brunch buffet is amazing! It has a wide variety of fresh fruits, crepes, meats, and cheeses. We love the outdoor seating, even when it's a little cool outside. Plenty of heaters and just a good overall environment.
The location and ambiance was fabulous - it was a little chilly outside, but that didn’t matter because we had heaters and blankets all around us. The food was not what we were expecting.
For an appetizer we had their version of poutine which had a very rich sauce on top, which there was more than enough of, and it had a mustardy flavor to it (which my husband does not like). Overall it was just too much - we could barely find the fries underneath all that was on top, and it was just super rich.
For an entree we chose the Steak au Poivre for two, which I was excited about because it was a 30 oz ribeye - my favorite cut of steak! It was a disaster. The steak itself was cooked just okay, and sliced haphazardly, but the worst part was the “sauce”. It was at least 8 oz of whole-peppercorns, cooked until soft and then put on top. It was overwhelming and not pleasant at all. The dish just wasn’t cooked correctly.
Dessert was delicious, the almond amaretto cake for me and the Oreo cheesecake for my husband. The icing on the cake was some of the best icing either of us has ever had.
We may try again since the atmosphere was so good, but I’m hesitant since the food was not.
The best restaurant in North Augusta! Stop reading this and go there now.
Valentine’s day dinner. Excellent service, food, ambiance. Special Valentine’s day menu. Amazing desserts too.
Had to wait 30 minutes past reservation time to be seated, however, staff made up for it by getting our order in and food out quickly. Food was excellent and service was great!
Great food. The trays always bring a WOW factor so I highly recommend starting with an appetizer board.
Waiter was excellent, food was good but not incredible. The asparagus soup was not good but the French onion soup was delicious. Husband got the salmon cake salad and it was good .The setting is lovely and the music is good. Highly recommend this place for any occasion
Food and service was amazing. And a buffet and bottomless mimosas for around $30! What a deal!
We tried out their Saturday breakfast buffet and it was great. There was the usual breakfast fare with tasty additions such as the shrimp and grits (kept separate in case anyone wanted plain grits) , french toast made with baguettes that didn't need anything extra unless you wanted something, and yummy pastries. The price of the buffet also included coffee or sweet tea which made it well worth the drive over from Evans.
Service was excellent. Server could have done a batter job of explaining the preparation of the dishes. Quantity of the dishes was disappointing. Ordered the lamb chops and they were 90% bone and 10% meat. Left a lot to be desired. Flounder was served whole with the exception of the head. This was not explained. Next time we know better to ask and maybe send something back if it's not desirable.
Very cozy, a bit bit crowded, but felt very much like a neighborhood place. Food was very good. Went back the next day to get slices of their amazing cakes since I was too full to eat dessert after dinner.
Inside the restaurant seemed a little small but they make up for it with their delicious food! The service was was very good but hard to hear bc of the noise level. Restaurant went out of their way to make a special dinner item for my occasion and it was by far the best Beef Wellington ive ever had! Will definitely be coming back! Smaller parties of maybe 4 or less would fit decently. Anything larger would seem to be an issue but they also have very nice outside seating with more spacious tables and even heaters and thick blankets for cold days/nights. Love this place!
This is a second visit and is again very high on my list for all the right reasons to dine out. We were somewhat pushed here for dinner after another restaurant failed on a reservation we had. Read my review of Fifth and Finch. Needless to say Manuel's saved the evening from being lost. We made reservations quickly on Open table once we decided not to eat at Fifth and Finch due to an issue they created. We were meet at the door and seated quickly at an outside table. It was cool but they provide nice warm blankets and lite all the heaters so it was very comfortable. Our server was very friendly, she knew the menu and recommended a great bottle of wine. We had the sampler platter, I do recommend it with a good bottle of wine. For dinner a Fillet of Beef, Lamb Chops, salad and more wine. The ambiance outside was great with the Carolina street scene and an almost full moon in addition to the fire from the heaters. I Highly recommend for a date night if you like sitting outside on a nice cool evening or a Sunday brunch. The food was excellent, fresh ingredients, well seasoned and the plating was well done. Manuel's is on the list of must dine at when in Augusta.
I had the pork belly tapas and it was too salty, but otherwise had a great experience. Our server was delightful. Very attentive and friendly.
